Daiquiri Dick's Restaurant, Bar & Grill Ratings and Reviews
It's hard to be too hard on the food since we saw the menu was mostly filled with tourist dishes. Our fault for not researching the menu before we went. We wanted great fresh seafood and the choices at this place are very limited in that regard. We just had appetizers, which were okay but not above average and then left to LA Langosta Feliz for delicious entree's. The view was beautiful. If you want great seafood options skip this place , but it does offer a beautiful sunset and a clean well appointed decor.
We have been coming here since 1978 when it was a hole in the wall and we had fish on a stick. It is transformed into such a wonderful, outstanding, upscale restaurant. It has an excellent location and view. I hope to keep coming here for many more years to come. We always enjoy bringing friends here when we come.
We are local residents and visit this restaurant at least a couple time each year. We have been unhappy with the service and expense the last few times visiting, but this will be our last visit. The expense of the food and the drinks is not worth the quality. We paid $420MXN for two margaritas (with El Jimador tequila). We questioned our server, who assured us this was not a mistake. These same margaritas around the corner would have been $240MXN.
Daquiri Dicks remains a favorite for us and many happy occasions here. Yesterday we chose to have lunch on the beach and the location was perfect. I enjoyed the tostada salad and my husband liked the bean soup. This is a great place for breakfast, lunch , sunset or a romantic dinner. Buy the biscotti on your way out.
This used to be one of the best restaurants in the area that we always go back to. Lately they've cut down on wait staff we believe and the service is poor. This is not because the help does not try but the last time we were not the only persons who relapsed into a daze while waiting to get simple things like the menu or the check. Unfortunate. The food still was good but frankly it was such bad service, so much time between any attention, that we didn't notice the food
When visiting Puerto Vallarta we always have a meal at Daquiri Dick's for the food and fabulous views, especially the sunset! This evening we enjoyed the appetizer Canastas de Caramon, we then shared the Caesar salad, following main courses were the Costillas de Cerdo (beef ribs) and the pasta special, both were outstanding! The finishing touch was the flaming coffee prepared table side! Great presentation and delicious too!
The food, the service, the atmosphere is just the best! It is so relaxing, yet the food is so delicious. Everything put together, it is a wonderful way to spend an evening for dinner with spouse, friends, or any type of celebration. It definately stays on my list of ¨have to¨eat dinner at Daiquiri Dick´s!!!! Top five for me!
Daiquiri Dick's location cannot be beat. It's on the beach in Puerto Vallarta with a beautiful view of the bay and mountains. The food is very good, the service is great, and the value is terrific by American standards. The atmosphere is "nice casual." It takes reservations, though they usually aren't necessary. I go there at least twice every visit to Puerto Vallarta.
Food was ok, but spendy for what you get. Also very blasé, and not super interesting. Ambiance is good though, nice outdoor style seating. Service was VERY slow and off. Watched the same at all the tables. No one ever seemed to be around. Drinks and food went to wrong people when it finally arrived. Took about 30 minutes after dinner to have a server return and see if we wanted dessert. Then another 20 minutes to get the check. Probably won't return.
Lovely evening dining under the stars. Our starters of pumpkin ravioli and grilled vegetables were delicious. Entrees of beef tenderloin and giant prawns were superb!! Service was very good. We had reservations and were escorted to our table as soon as we arrived. A very pleasant experience!
My husband and I went in a Saturday night at 630p. There were many large group tables which made it hard for our server to give us much attention. He wasn't bad just preoccupied. We started with a Caesar salad, not that great but ok...and calamari. It really was not good at all. No flavor...Entrees were much better. I had the ribs and my husband had the perch. Both very flavorful and delicious. We shared a pitcher of margaritas so there was no room left for dessert. Next time we are in PV we will visit again.
They were extra busy that evening with a special party, but we had drink in the bar while waiting and we were seated shortly thereafter. Due to the increase in patronage they had some new staff assisting and it took longer to order because they weren't used to the menu. It was most plezsant evening with excellent food and my companion , eating there for the first time, would definately return.
A horrible experience. The shrimp cocktail was composed of teeny weeny soggy shrimps obviously thawed from frozen. The steak, ordered medium, was beyond well done, dried out and the accompanying veggies dry and withered. The plate had obviously been under a heat lamp or warmer for some time. The pineapple cake was like chalk. When the bill came our two desserts had each been charged twice! Bill padding? Not a word of apology for any of it. We come to PV every year and have been to this restaurant many times. Never again! The impression is "slam, bam, thank you Ma'am".... Collect the cash and never mind quality or service. A huge disappointment. There are too many good restaurants with beautiful views to be treated like that.
Our 28 year back in Puerto Vallarta. We discovered this gem of a restaurant years ago and return each year. Food is constantly good. Love watching people and also the sunset and surf. This is the place. My wife loves this too so it's a no brained. I get a good meal and my wife is pleased. What more can a guy ask for. Don't answer that.
Another great dining experience at Daiquiri Dick's. We have never been disappointed. The Shrimp Wontons were excellent and the BBQ Spare Ribs were absolutely the most delicious we have ever tasted. The bartender also makes the best gin martinis. We would highly recommemd Daiquiri Dick's.
This is the first time we have eaten at Daiquiri Dicks although we have passed by it many times. I was thoroughly impressed by the variety on the menu. It was hard to decide on what to have . I ended up choosing a salad and an appetizer. The roasted romaine salad was huge and delicious! I also had the Neapolitan veggie stack which was very good. The sweet potato was a nice surprise in the stack. I also had a delicious carmenere wine. I told the Executive Chef who visited our table that I loved the variety of the menu and I would be back to sample some of the other dishes! We will return on our next trip!
