Daily Grill - Seattle Sheraton
Book your next event with us
Christmas Brunch at the Sheraton is a tradition with my family. But, they are on the other side of the country. This was our first time in Seattle and we would definitely come back again. The smoked salmon was devine. It wasn’t as elaborate as some Sheraton’s we’ve been to since there were no lunch options (carving station , etc) but very tasty and affordable for the amount of food we ate!
The service was slow and the waitress seemed bitter that she had 4 tables seat all at once. It took over an hour to get our lunch. A few pictures on the wall would spruce up the place too. One waitress looked like she came in off the street to help with limited wait staff.
Love the pot pies (you used to have beef as well as chicken). My hubby had steak frites, lunch portion and liked it. Next time for me too. Good server, nice lunch.
PROS: Food is always fresh right down to the crispness of the lettuce used in their VERY good salads. I frequently stay at the Sheraton for weekend get-aways in Seattle and have never had a bad meal there, breakfast, lunch or dinner all have been delicious.
CONS: Service is hit or miss from the inexperienced to the slow.
This is a review of Open Table as well as Daily Grill - both receive 1 star. Made reservations using Open Table. When we arrived at Daily Grill they said the reservation was invalid. They said that they were not taking any more reservations and they had called Open Table. So, there we were with twin 4yr old grandchildren and no table on a sat night. Receptionist just shrugged and said sorry!!!
Great food, it was worth the drive(through traffic) from Kent!
Server was a little hard to find, but she was pleasant.
Food was good, but the staff seemed overwhelmed with the Thanksgiving menu. The steak came back rare when it was ordered well done. We had to ask for a manager to see us. My wife's foid did not arrive until 15 minutes after I had finished my meal. Then, our waiter all but forgot about us the second half of our visit. We had to track him down for the check. We will not be returning.
We went for the Thanksgiving buffet. Great choices - turkey, prime rib or salmon. I loved all the vegetable side dishes. Perfect for a group because everyone can have their favorites. Relaxed atmosphere, good for families.
We chose The Daily Grill because of its proximity to the theatre. Overall, the experience was mediocre. I ordered a salad starter that never was delivered, and the flavors in our respective mains were nothing interesting or exciting, just so-so/mediocre. With all of the great food happening in Seattle these days, one expects a bit more effort and creativity. So, while convenient in location, the menu, service and prep left something to be desired.
Great place for downtown business meets. Very attentive service and good food. Nice a quiet as well and makes for good conversation.
My husband and I order salmon everywhere. This was the BEST salmon we have ever tasted. Perfectly cooked. I ordered the brown rice which was also over the top and the chef very generously shared the recipe, which was very unusual, sweet with cinnamon. The spinach was also perfectly prepared. My husband got mashed potatoes. Would have loved them better if they were garlic mashed, however. Service was impeccable. Great birthday celebration with a great wine selection.
Spent a night at the Sheraton and came here to dinner with a group of 4 people on a Thursday night. The food was good but the service was unacceptably slow. Not a good sign when your wait person has to apologize FOUR times for the slow service. Our total time there was about 2.5 hours... about 30-45 minutes too long for a weeknight. After our entrees were served we were the only ones left other than one other table of 8. Seemed like there was only one person working the kitchen. Hard to recommend.
It was an OK hotel type of meal. Nothing spectacular.
Great food and service! Meatloaf is fantastic!
Good food! Great service. Perfect location
The food was outstanding. It was a Saturday night and they appeared to be a little short staffed. The service was excellent all the same.
Had a very limited menu due to event in the hotel that they were catering (We should have been told before we were seated). Thus, the service was poor and the food choices limited. $100 for a shared appetizer, pasta/shrimp dish, small sized pot pie and one glass of wine. Would have had additional glass of wine if offered. No refill on waters. The food was expensive and just ok. Won’t be back.
happy hour not what it used to be
one page menu for dinner
hard working but novice waiter
We had been to the Daily Grill a couple of times before. Usually before attending the 5th Avenue Theater on Saturday nights where we have had season tickets for years. The food was always excellent, but I had never had the Chicken Pot Pie until last Saturday night.
If you have a bucket list of any kind, you need to add the Daily Grill to it and have the Chicken Pot Pie. It is so good it is indescribable. You just have to try it to understand.
Love this place!!! Their chicken pot pie is to die for, it’s made fresh and never disappoints. Honestly, I don’t think that there’s anything on the menu that tastes terrible, everything is delicious.
Limited menu, some items unavailable, and all meals were really poor quality.
Great spot for pre theatre dining. Terrific, attentive service. Delicious food
Wonderful break during a busy day at the convention center. Excellent service. Would recommend to anyone attending an event at the Washington State Convention Center.
The food and the service were both outstanding. Our server, Lance, went out of his way to make it a special night to celebrate my birthday. He event wrote me a birthday poem to accompany my free dessert at the end of the meal. We will be back!
Both my guest and I had the chicken pot pie. We agreed: it was terrific (as it was the previous time I had it). The butternut squash soup was very good too. The wait staff was pleasant, but the food delivery was VERY slow -- the waitress said there was a problem with the computer that was slowing down food preparation, but I couldn't help but feel that our order had simply been overlooked. And if there had been a computer-caused delay, it would have been appropriate to let us know before, after waiting 35-40 minutes, I had to grab another server to ask what when (if) our food was going to arrive.
Valentine’s Day. Ordered off regular menu even though they had a special menu option. Just started the Whole30 plan so had to ask the waiter what was in some items. Had the simple filet steak. Very good.
Horrible service - killed the whole experience. Server had zero knowledge of wine selection.
Had reservations for 5pm on a Saturday following a play. When we arrived, the reception desk was empty and a number of staff persons came and went before anyone greeted us or asked if we needed help. Our server took awhile to show up, didn't bring water until we asked twice, didn't ask if we wanted bread, didn't ask if we wanted fresh pepper on our salads, and was generally not present. Food was okay, although the pork chop was a bit dry. Chicken pot pie was yummy, but a bit pricey at $21.50.
I had the worst experience I've ever had at a meal at this restaurant. I made a reservation and when we arrived the host said it would be a 15 minute wait. Yes, there was a convention going on next door but that's the freaking reason I made a reservation, so we wouldn't have to wait. We finally got our table and our waiter brought us menus. It wasn't until 10 minutes later that we received our water. Also, at that time we ordered our food. It took 45 minutes to get our food. The waiter didn't come back once in those 45 minutes to apologize for the delay, nor did he come back to fill up our water. When we got our food BOTH burger orders at the table were wrong. One had the wrong kind of cheese and they were both asked to be cooked well done. When we cut into them they were still bleeding. We sent them both back. I would have expected them to turn the burgers out quickly but it took another 15 minutes for them to be served. During this 15 minutes the manager did come over and apologize that they were cooked wrong but offered nothing to make up for it. We then had to ASK him for more water because our waiter or him didn't notice that we still had no water. I have never had to ask for water 3x at one meal. Funny thing is, with the convention across the street, the restaurant wasn't even busy. There were open tables and not a lot of people waiting in the lobby. I have no idea why the service was so awful that day but I will not be returning ever again and will tell people not to go. Also, my turkey club was $18 and was horrible. I could easily make a better sandwich at home. Lastly, the table behind us sent their burgers back TWICE because they were so undercooked! The guest told us 'I've never met a burger with a heartbeat.' At least I know not to waste my money here again. Horrible service and horrible food!!!
Our waiter was terrible. Waited 15 minutes for a cup of coffee and the restaurant wasn't even crowed. I know now never to sit in his section.
Consistent food quality
We came here for a business lunch. Twenty minutes after we ordered, our waitress notified us that the salmon for one of our salads was actually unavailable. Another twenty minutes later, she came back to notify us that they were also out of another entree we ordered. With all the options of places to eat, we will not be going back.
If you love a perfectly cooked Salmon, this is the place for you.
The only reason I can't recommend Daily Grill is because there are so many Seattle-specific restaurants nearby. Daily Grill, being a national chain, lacks any of the flavor that makes Seattle a great food town. (And really, no self-respecting Northwest restaurant has "Atlantic salmon" on the menu.) Still, it's good enough in a pinch or when you don't really care.
My favorite Manhattan Clam Chowder was over peppered. Please add shaved cheese to the Caesar Salad vs. the mill grind type of Cheese.
I think if you added more salads, you would have more business lunches. The bread is always great. The Angel Hair Pasta is always right on spot.
This is the third bad experience I've had at this restaurant - twice in the restaurant and once in the bar. The service is very slow - we waited 10-12 minutes before we were greeted by our service. Kitchen was slow, food was bland and they got the order wrong. Second time I have been served lousy fruit with the meal.
I live 2 blocks away and eat out often. I will not go back.
And, per the waiter, a discount is applied if one is dining before the theatre! Across the street from the show and good food 'n service to boot!
My friend and I meet at Daily Grill before going to plays at ACT. Daily Grill has a sophisticated, yet relaxed atmosphere that makes us think of dining in New York. We've always enjoy our lunches and drinks at Daily Grill, and the service is excellent. We can relax, yet still have plenty of time to make it to our play.
We needed a quiet time to re-connect and catch-up, and enjoy good food with unobtrusive service.
The Grill was a perfect choice!
