Daily Grill - Santa Monica
The main course consists of a range of items with chicken, seafood or beef as the primary staple. The chicken pot pie is always popular, as is the herb-crusted filet mignon grilled to order. Daily Grill also has a full bar, making it a great place to gather for those after work cocktails.

Good food, service, and ambiance! It is my go-to for office and business lunches close to the office.
The food was excellent especially the trout. Service was very professional and attentive!!
Food is very good but not very creative. If you like comfort food, this is the place. The service, however, is extraordinarily good. The waitresses really aim to please and will make any modification or substitute you request, within reason. And I always ask for modifications. I loved the trout almondine but they replaced it with trout with panko. Since I avoid gluten, i requested that they make my trout the way they used to, without the panko. They accommodated my request and it was excellent. They also brought a little bowl of extra lemon sauce and left the salt off my sweet potato fries, as I requested. The waitresses are also very competent and the food came out quickly and hot.
Love their bread, Caesar Salad and Chicken Pot Pie......Makes for a great casual dinner for my wife and myself with relatively good value. Service is good, atmosphere pleasant.
We all ordered the large ahi tuna appetizer, which we have ordered before. Instead of getting large and juice chunks of tuna covered in sesame seeds, we got tiny, dry pieces of tuna with a few sesame seeds. Also, it was served warm, which is never a good thing for sushi. Very much not worth the price, or any price for that matter.
Always a good dinner with quite atmosphere!!!Service always good!!!
Everything was delicious but too much salad dressing on the Caesar
Delicious, wonderful service, will certainly go again.
Their DineLA lunch menu was amazing. The menu options were very tasty.
We have recommended this to friends and have taken friends here before.
This was the first time we came during DineLA week and had lunch. Service by Mike (Miguel) was attentive and fun. My gazpacho and sand dabs plate were tasty and generous. My wife's watermelon and cucumber salad was a mind-blowingly good, and salmon burger prepared lettuce-style without the bun was good. Only possible improvement from our perspective would be if the salmon was finely chopped instead of coarse chopped.
Daily Grill SM never disappoints, and this lunch was a highlight of our week.
Loved the Dine LA menu. Best pork chop. Very good service.
Great place for after work and happy hours, decently crowded but not to the point where you cannot get in for a seat and they have specials. Nice place to catch up w a friend or coworkers after a day of work.
Noisy bar but quieted down. Menu seemed more limited than I remembered but food was good, generous portions and we had an excellent server.
It was extremely noise throughout our entire lunch.
Almost impossible to have a conversation.
The food and service were fine. Although
I was very disappointed that they removed my
favorite item from the new menu. It was the
only place in the city that served Manhattan
clam chowder. No more. I would suggest
that the restaurant put it back on their menu.
Sand dabs and gaspacho were delicious.
A wee bit too noisey & waiter seemed a little harried, but otherwise greatly enjoyable.
The Daily Grill in Santa Monica is a good place for dinner. The menu is extensive and they usually have some extra special items. Currently the Dine L.A. special 3 course menu is available and is quite good. During the Happy Hour the bar is usually quite crowded and very noisy so if you are just there for dinner make sure to ask for a table away from the bar.
They ran out of the soup special and bread! Very mediocre experience.
Great parking, food, service ,ambiance. Weekends the bar is quieter. Thurs and Fri. at “happy hour” pretty noisy. If seniors like us, avoid the noise, come from 7 and on for dinner and drinks.
We love this restaurant for a casual dinner at a relatively modest price.....especially if you buy their script at Xmas Time that offers a 20% discount or if you area member of their program to promote various specials. First of all, their sourdough bread starts the evening off on a great note.....delicious serviced hot with a crisp crust. We eat lightly so on casual nights we do not have alcoholic beverages. We start with the wedge salad or kale Caesar.....both delicious and very generous. My wife has a veggie burger when available or just a baked potato and I usually have the small chicken pot pie....love it. I have always enjoyed their soups also in the winter months. Service is always accommodating. Free valet parking is a pleasure in this day and age.
Great place for a good meal in Santa Monica. Excellent service. On weekends, free parking under the building.
Wednesday Special very good.
Would tell you but the fun will be to find out and enjoy yourself ! 🤗
Very pleasant environment and extremely comfortable. All the food was great except for the trout. I used to order the trout before they changed it to panko crust, which has gluten. I always ask for them to cook it the old way, sauteed almondine, and sometimes it comes out okay and sometimes not. This was one of the "not okay" nights. It was dry and tasteless. However, the salmon, sashimi plate, and vegetables were all excellent. The highlight of the visit was the service, which was outstanding. Daily Grill seems to get the best waiters. They are always competent but are also very attentive and pleasant. Sunday night was no exception.
On this night the restaurant was no too crowded.
We were seated immediately.
Our server approached quickly and took our beverage orders.
We ordered our entrees and they arrived fresh and hot.
They were delicious.
The server was attentive and checked back often.
We enjoyed our dinner.
I recommend this place with a couple of areas of opportunity for improvement. Managers should teach their staff about wine and servers should bring management to the table when guests ask questions the server cannot answer. We asked about the Australian sparkling wine and our server was unable to tell us anything about it...bummer for him, we were ready to get a bottle....the beer list is poor...if you are serving steak have a stout or Porter available and please tell your staff that IPA is never to be referred to as a dark beer...although this seems to happen often. We also wanted to relax and we felt rushed...our check was dropped off with our dessert and we weren't offered coffee or espresso with the Brownie, which was good but tasted like it came from a mix. Our Ribeye was cooked just a little past our ordered med rare, but it was still delicious...altho the cut was under an inch so it's tough to nail med rare unless the steak is thicker. The ahi appetizer was fantastic...lightly seared and so fresh! All in all, I'd go back but this place could be 5 stars easily with a little tweaking to the menu, beer list and some polishing of the staff. Our server was very nice but lacked strong knowledge about some points on the menu. That's ok, but he should have brought his manager over to the table.
Great Food and Service.
Value and very tasty . 👍🏻
There were 5 of us celebrating a birthday lunch on the outside patio. It was lovely!
Our waiter was wonderful, very attentive and really quick!
Very consistent. Excellent experience and above average dining experience every time.
Food was quite good and service, from Haley, was outstanding.
Very attentive wait staff, fresh hot Sourdough bread, varied menu of comfort food, old favorites and new dishes, a nice relaxed atmosphere makes for a memorable dinner with friends.
This is a so-called "red-booth" restaurant of old clubby days. The food was prepared well, and on the weekend, at least, there is no charge for the below street level parking. The waiter appeared to be new, as I kept asking him to bring otherwise provided items, or ones that a fully-trained waiter would know
to ask about.
The restaurant is a bit tired but the food is familiar. Our server disappeared and we had to get up and find her. Never want to do that.
Solid American food very tasty.. Service was better than I expected.
Easy to park with validated parking. Nice ambiance with comfortable booths. The best bread!!!! Like their chicken pot pie, baked potato and fries, soups, wedge salad, chicken burger (only at lunch...why?). We eat lightly so our bill is usually modest and with the recent 25% discount on prepaid gift cards that can not be utilized until July), the value is there. Service is usually excellent.
Love it here! We eat here all the time! We are regulars.
The $37.5 lobster pie was a disappointment this time. Lobster meats were not tender like last time and tasteless.
Really enjoyed the Santa Fe Wrap and, as always, the sourdough bread.
We ordered pork chops. One was fine. Two were very overcooked. We ordered medium, and they came well done. Very very tough. We've had pork chops at DG for years, and they've been unfailingly well-prepared: pale pink and juicy. Until our last visit (March 27 2019). French fries were, as always, crisp and perfect. Grilled asparagus was dry and tough. Broccoli was fine. Service was first-rate; Priscilla was attentive and very personable and kind. So we believe this was an anomaly, but thought we should bring it to DG's attention. The manager offered us a dessert which was very nice - it was our third member's birthday - and Priscilla said at our next visit, we could choose an appetizer. Well-handled at the store.
French fries served cold.
The tarter sauce needs work.
Sometimes less is more !
