We love going to the Daily Grill. The atmosphere is lovely, the servers are always friendly, and fun. The food is delicious and there's a good selection.

The salad was great but they rushed us thru and didn’t check on us until it was too late to let them know my dinner wasn’t very good.

We went for my daughter's 15th birthday. It's rare when my family can all find a menu item they love, especially with a picky 8-year-old. The menu is diverse and very tasty. We are looking forward to returning.

Terrible food and lousy service from Ted aka Theodore who clearly could care less about his job or his customers or providing any service. The food was lousy too, overly seasoned and heavy on the salt. They clearly need an uplift on several fronts.

Good service and good food. The atmosphere was quiet and good for conversation. We tried the Beef Dip and there was a special Crab Cake sandwich. The Crab Cake could have been cooked a bit more but was tasty. The Beef Dip was good with a generous portion of beef.

The food was excellent, the service not so much. But, it was New Years Eve and I think they were short staffed.

The silverware and wine glasses were spotty and specked with food before we sent it back. Service was poor at first but rebounded - thankfully. Food was good. I wouldn't write this place off, I just think they could do better.

We made a reservation for 11:30 and we were early. And even though the restaurant was empty everyone was waiting in the reception area to be seated. They did not seat us until 11:50. The staff was friendly, they just seemed ill prepapared stating that they were switching from breakfast to lunch. The food was good but expensive and meals came out wrong. My Bloody Mary was $18.25. That seems exorbanent to me. The bar has good atmosphere and is a good spot to watch sports.

We ordered the chicken caprise and when the food came, all the pieces of chicken were pink. The waitress told us that the temperature was correct but didn’t offer to take back. Her tone was snobbish

Very noisy...actually so loud, you had to shout to make yourself heard. Server was delightful and very friendly throughout it all. Had the halibut and Moroccan chicken-both quite good. calamari also done to perfection. Good location in the city which made for easy access. Would go back.

Honestly, this was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Had a scheduled private dining dinner for my Courthouse wedding. Was supposed to start at 5:30. Didn’t get seated till 6. After an hour and a half we were only served salad. They gave us bread to hold us over, not sure why we weren’t offered bread in the first place. My dinner was under cooked and my second plate had so much garlic it wasn’t edible. After the main course was served it took another 30-40 minutes to get dessert. I complained of the service several times. After dessert it took another 40 minutes to get my bill. I was also charged for the 2 meals I didn’t even eat. They finally fixed my bill after 30 more minutes. This dinner took 4 hours. Only after beginning to cry my eyes out, due to being so frustrated, did the manager really seem to care. I guess when they have your card on file they don’t care about the quality of service you get, since they got their tip no matter how terrible the service was. At one point, I asked for my bill so I could get on with my life, felt like this nightmare was never going to end. Not only did this ruin my day, but because it took us so long to get out of there, my reservation for my after party got cancelled because we were too late.

Server was great! Food was good too, our table had the pot pie and the filet. Both were good. Filet was a little pricey, for SFO I guess it's fine. Sat in the dining room close to the bar, it was LOUD!

Daily Grill is simple fare. Steaks, Chops and Salads. The Cobb salad is big enough for 2 people. The Manhattan Clam soup is superb. Always available not usually on the menu. A bowl is a full meal. Large portions like the pot pie is enough for two. Everything is yummy.

Very dissappoinred. The ratings were good but i can only assume those are from tourists in thr union square location. The morroccan chicken was dry, the bar service was non-existent, the hostess was confused though the crowds were There waiting for a tabke. If not for our waitress, Penny who was wonderful, the whole meal would have been a bust. Usually open table ratings are spot on, this one failed to deliver.

Wasn't pleased with hostess or wait staff. Had 7pm reservation, arrived at 6:30p - they wouldn't seat us earlier. People without reservations got sat before us. Waitress was not happy to be there. When asked for more water, her reply was "When I get a moment". We were there for a birthday celebration. Wasn't the best experience 😢

We went on Christmas and were seated right away. Service was sub par. We had to ask for everything as our waiter did not go the extra mile for anything. A baked potato was ordered and the waiter didn’t bring any sides as butter, sour cream etc. He brought it and left and then then had to wait a while before we could flag down the waiter to ask for some butter etc. The food was good but not generous with anything. You got to order your main entree and one side and everything else was a la carte. The plates looked pretty bare when served. I think if the waiter was better the experience would possibly warrant us to return at some time.

This place I’ve been to several times before and enjoyed it. This visit once the waiter found out we wanted no appetizers, or alcohol he was never there . Chicken was chewy....I think priced high for the quality . I had two 13 year old girls and myself with me. They also add 4% to your bill to help pay for the mandatory health care employers need to provide . But I guess we customers are paying it! Visited several other restaurants and nothing was added on to our bill. Hmmmmm

Our waiter was amazing. Although they were out of two of the specials, he took the time to talk us through other similar options. He even comped a glass of wine for the inconvenience. But we didn’t mind because the food was AMAZING!!! The pot pie was huge and delicious. I highly recommend this place.

I have dined a number of times at the Daily Grill and it has always been very good, however on December 17th the dinner was incredibly great !! We had a wonderful waiter and the BEST fish and chips AND cole slaw I have ever had !! Maybe the two glasses of wine helped !! It has always been a favorite and will continue to be so.

Really looking forward to this lunch with my kids before a show. What a sad experience. The service was terrible and the food was sad. First of all, it took 10 minutes to get someone to say hello. The food took way too long and yet is wasn't hot when it arrived. The server said that the kids would be getting some kind of sundae with their meals.... never came. Just an all around bad lunch that didn't have to be. They were busy, but not slammed. Won't go back ....

We dined at the Daily Grill before going to the theater. By the way, we got a 15% discount on the bill by showing the same day theater tickets. They have a great children's menu also.
The food was good as was the service. We will be returning again soon for our dining experience #3!
P.S. We were caught in traffic (it is SF!) and I called and said we would be 15 minutes late for our reservation.
We were immediately seated when we arrived. This counts for a lot, especially with 2 children with us!

I made a reservation for 6:30, we arrived early and were told we would be seated in a few minutes. Although the restaurant was fairly empty, it was a week night, the hostess made no attempt to seat us. At 6:40 my husband went to check on the status of our reservation and was told we could be seated now. We were lead to a small table in an awkward position next to doors. We asked for a better table and were led to a booth in a nearly empty room.
After the disappointing start, the rest of the evening was what we expect from the Daily Grill. The waiter was attentive, friendly and efficient. The food was great as usual.
We will go back, just hope we don't run into the same hostess.

Very nice interior, great location by Union Square. But..that's it.
We arrived for our lunch at 12:30, only a few other tables occupied at that time. Two waiters.
Our waiter an older man with no smiles - we thought he was not happy to be there, working.
A little overlong wait for food. My crab cake had strong aroma of fish and the asparagus was inedible - french fries were very nice. Other lunches were OK - Cole Slaw was best bet.
Disappointing, very disappointing. Too bad - great location.
