Nice and big place. Excellent food, hummus, iceberg salad and filet mignon delicious!! Very good service!!
Perfect location near theaters Staff pleasant and accommodating Also excellent location if shopping on union square. Lunch or Dinner. Menu offers variety of options. Not my first visit. Won’t be my last
We seldom partake of chain restaurants, but a number of times, while traveling, we have made an exception for Daily Grill. We were well rewarded for our decision this time.
When the menu states the "Double Cut" pork chop is 14oz., it is time to share dinner (which we often do). The pork chop was perfect, done to medium and as moist as a lamb chop. The blackberry sauce was an unfamiliar compliment which was more like a reduction. Not too sweet, but still very berry. Outstanding.
Daily Grill also shined with a lot of vegetable addition. The grilled asparagus and grilled broccoli were clearly cooked enough to be very tender without being dry. Because the side salads here are so large we shared just one of those; along with the excellent creamed spinach.
The service was flawless. Our server Sasha was one of the best anywhere. While not being too flip, she was casual yet precise and willing to chat on a slow night. We felt like we were hosted in a home by an old friend. I love good, yet relaxed, service. But I am happiest when those serving us are as clearly pleased with the experience we are mutually sharing. Sasha seems to have it all dialed in. She made our evening.
Plesant dining, nice variety with several good choices for vegetarian friends. Convenient to A.C.T, theater. Reservation at 5:30. Small wait for someone to seat us, and it was after 6 before we were served our rather straightforward orders, which made for a bit of a rush for the 7 PM show. And yes, they knew we had theater tickets , which they honored with a discount, but it still felt rushed at the end.
the staff was very friendly, they checked on us regularly making sure we didn’t need anything. The food was very good and filling. Was a little disappointed that they didn’t have some items from the online menu. The Happy Hour was a good deal.
Perfect place to go between Harry Potter shows! Excellent food, great service, nice atmosphere!!! Steps from our hotel (the Westin) and a short block from the Curran theater!!! Will definitely go back the next time we are in San Francisco!
Waiter infrequently checked on us. Cesar salad sub par. No brunch option despite clearly saying so online.
We had appetizers and they were all delicious ! Service was good also.
A good simple meal for before theatre. They also serve lunch & breakfast.
Service and food were great!
Portions were small for the price. I ordered the arugula, quinoa salad with chicken added. The plate was slightly larger than a bread plate with about a teaspoon of quinoa sprinkled on top and 3 slivers of sun-dried tomatoes. Normally I don't like a lot of dressing, however I could bearly taste the dressing. My husband had the chicken Caesar, which was ok, the chicken was dry on both salads without any seasoning.
Kudos to our sever, Nathan, and our Valentine menu!
Excellent all the way around - highly recommended!
After a number of good experiences over many past years, this visit was disappointing on several levels. The hostess kept chatting for 5 minutes with a friend before passing on the word that we were waiting for a booth (there were a couple ready, but for some reason we had to wait for a booth that still needed to be set up). The appetizers we ordered were fine and tasty, but then they were trying to sell us a well done skirt steak as a medium rare filet mignon. The side sauce we had ordered was missing as well. After waiting some time to catch her attention, the waitress actually said "this is how our steaks look like" as argument that she thought she had brought the correct order. We are steak lovers and know our meats, mind you, so back to the kitchen it went. Speaking of sides: one used to get a generous portion of each (be it creamed spinach or mash or veggies); now there was plenty of white left to look at on ones plate; we felt like we were served a lunch portion at dinner cost. To be fair: when the actual re-ordered filet mignon arrived, they had added more generously to the sides as well, so that at least was something. The waitress also never offered us bread or water; we finally asked for the latter with our after-dinner espressos. She also never asked if we wanted another cocktail or glass of wine. Feeling ignored and underserved was sort of the theme of this outing. For what they charged, that was not acceptable, and our tip reflected our disappointment. I hope this was an "off" night for them, but we won't be back to find out.
A broad menu with something for everyone, good service and perfect location to ACT.
We ate at the bar -- trout for my partner and angel hair pasta with shrimp for me. Excellent food. Friendly, efficient female bartender. We were early (4 pm?), so missed the usual crowds.
delicious food, average service and servers were nice
Great food, but our server due to language issues had a hard time understanding my drink order and tried to close us out without coffee and dessert. Warm, cozy atmosphere. LOVED my salmon Casaer Salad and Apple Cobbler. Great spot for lunch. Will definitely be back soon!
Great to grab a good meal before the theatre And at prices that won't having you take out a loan
Our waiter Nathan was awesome. The entire restaurant had a very cool “Old School Chicago” vibe. Will definitely come back again next time in town.
This was the perfect spot for dinner before a play. The food is very good, lots of choices, and fairly priced. We had amazing service from Elliott - once he knew we were going to a play, he made sure everything was ready in a timely way without our feeling rushed. And when the kitchen forgot the garlic butter for the steaks, he went and grabbed it himself. We will be back.
T he food and service at the Daily Grill was exactly what I expected having heard about the restaurant from friends and through Yelp. We were a party of 6 and we all ordered different entrees. They were all good enough that we kept offering each other tastes of what we ordered. To point out a few different dishes that are worth trying, we loved the Chicken Pot Pie (HUGE!!) and the mac and cheese was insane.
The waiter was a little off-putting—seemed to question our dining needs almost every time we had a special request for dietary reasons.
Service was a little slow. Ambiance was nice and it was quiet.
This is a good location for theater goers. My party had tickets for a 2 night performance of Harry Potter. A great menu with lots of variety. Great service & food. Piped in music a little loud, but overall 2 very pleasant evenings.
My perfect kind of restaurant for a nice dinner with a good friend: quiet, upscale with great food and service. My filet mignon was perfect and we enjoyed everything from start to finish. Definitely recommend.
Ate here before seeing Harry Potter with our grandkids. Good exoerience
We were going to see Harry Potter with our grandchildren. Service was friendly and timely. Something for everyone on the menu. Food was very good.
Horrible service and overpriced/mediocre food. Server barely attended to us. Was not worth the money.
Food was very good. Service was fine but a little slow.
Went for Christmas dinner with our family of 5 (3 kids). The food and service were great. It was busy so glad we had a reservation. It wasnt too pricey by our NYC standards. We would definitely return.
The martini was watered down. Not crowded waiter slow
A.O.K. Serves an important need, Right place, right price, right times
Would recommend for casual meals. Ambiance was less fancy than what I wished for a date night, still food and service were nice.
The prix fix bargain is the way to go.
We had a lively lunch between shows at the Curran theater
Loud music piped over speakers, mediocre food, and not much ambience.
We have been here many times, and have always had great service, food and drinks! Our favorite place to go for lunch and drinks in Union Square. We were very disappointed this time, the drinks were subpar and took at least 20 minutes to get. Our waiter was unattentative, and the floor was a mess with leftover food from the previous patrons. May try another place next time if the staff is the same.
The service was slow, and when the food finally arrived after 45 minutes it was mediocre. A Caesar salad consisted of a small handful of lettuce and a sprinkle of chicken for $18. No one checked back with us. It took three tries to get water and bread, and we had to tackle another waiter to pay. Loud, crowded, slow, mediocre and poor value. We have patronized the place for years because it used to be great value, but now we are done.
