Daily Grill - Palm Desert Ratings and Reviews
The last three times we have been here! The overall food and service is lacking, to put it nicely! You have to ask for water or for them to remove the finished dishes! We had to get up and ask for our check after waiting 10 minutes. To many other great Restaurants at the same price point to becoming back here! Shame on the Management!
They were very busy, as usual. I made a lunch reservation well in advance but had to wait about ten minutes for a table. The food was great as always but the staff seem just a bit overwhelmed. I over heard a couple other guests complain about the level of service. We had a very enjoyable lunch and will absolutely return.
Thank you Daily Grill.
I have the habit of going to this restaurant frequently and I have always been very well catered for. I do not know what happened this time, but I received a very precarious service. The waiter was extremely slow, besides not having brought things we had requested, like water, for example. We had to ask for water four times, until she brought us.
Another thing that I have noticed in the course of time and that has not pleased me, is that, in order not to increase prices too much, they are reducing the size of the dishes. They are doing this in all the dishes, from the Ahi Tuna Sashimi (that I always sin), passing through the Samon, etc., etc.
We sat outside and while the weather was pleasant, we were constantly swatting at flies. This made for a rather unpleasant experience. There were 3 of us. 1 had a crab & shrimp omelette (special) - very good; 1- had a burger - good; 1 had the beef dip - not very good. Highlight was probably the monkey bread! Our server was fantastic - very attentive.
We went there for breakfast and after putting our order in, we had to check after 45 minutes about our order. We discovered (according to the wait person) that somehow our order was "lost" and she will expedite it (which she did and also discounted the price a little). What is amazing about that experience is that it was exactly the same experience last month when we were there for lunch. Not sure if it is their system or improper training or ? Even though, we like the food there, I am not sure if we will tolerate this again.
Our Waiter Marco was awful.. Took him 25 minutes to open our bottle of wine and take a drink order. Then another 45minutes to even show up to take our order and refill our cocktails. Then we waited another 40 minutes for our food. Not good service. It was like we were not even there. Marco needs to be in the back not out front with people.
I usually order the Sand Dabs which are always delicious. In addition our party ordered the Cobb salad which was good as always. Our clients both ordered the chicken vegetable soup. It did not look good at all. They did not enjoy it. Daily Grill is great for most menu items but they have trouble with chicken dishes except for their chicken piccata which is delicious.
We were seated right away, but took too long, 15 minutes, for the waiter to take our dink order once we sat down. Food came fast, it was nothing out of the ordinary but it was good. We had the shrimp linguini but they broiled them, and they were over cooked, instead of sautéing it so the dish had a burnt taste. The meal was $15.50 and to add the shrimp it was an additional $12.00 which is almost as much as the meal. Needless to say it was excessive to add the overlooked shrimp. The bar was packed with local folks eating their dinner which I always find odd as there were tables open in the restaurant . Dress anyway you want it won't matter you will fit right in.
I have always liked the Daily Grill, so I looked forward to dinner. I asked for a quiet booth, so we could catch up with our friends, and they delivered. Food was very good and enjoyed a drink at the bar before dinner.
They let me down since I had emailed that this was a Birthday celebration, but nothing was said by our waiter during or when we paid the bill. We were never offered pepper for our salads or cheese for our pasta. Details are important.
This is a busy, popular restaurarant. Arrived in time for a Happy Hour cocktail. We were seated on time for our Open Table reservation. We had a nice booth for two. Prompt, friendly service from our waitress, Tracey. No matter how busy she was she always had a smile on her face. We chose our entrees from the senior menu. You need to ask for it. For $4.00 extra you can add a salad. We decided to share a Caesar & it was plenty for the 2 of us & it was very good. My husband had the Homestyle Meat Loaf & I had the Herb Chicken Caprese. No complaints except he needed to ask for a side of gravy. Very pleased with our selections. Our night to splurge for dessert- the Apple Crisp with Salted Caramel toppinfg & Ice Cream. Glad we shared it, but it was delicious!
