Our service was great but the food was very poor ...the pot pie was tasteless
We enjoy coming here for Sunday Brunch and some good girlfriend talk. Would love a few more choices from the brunch menu.
I have been a semi regular at the Daily Grill Irvine. This time was quite disappointing. The server seemed hurried and uninterested, my baked potato came barely warm, the pork chop on special was overcooked dry and tough. My friends shared a steak that was not medium rare as ordered and not very good. Prices at the grill are moderately high but worth the expense if the food is good. This was disappointing. I would hesitate to recommend the restaurant to others.
I would recommend with a caveat. The service was not very good, the Manhattan clam chowder tasted like it was from a can, green beans too salty. Trout, however, was excellent!
Food and service was very good but the restaurant is a little over priced and VERY LOUD.
Overall it was ok! good food, tables for tight not leaving much room for space to comfortably fit 4 people.
The perfect place to go for lunch in Irvine to thank business colleagues for their help and advice. I invited two business associates to join me for lunch, and they each enjoyed an entrée, two sides, and a dessert. The wait time to be seated was short as I had made a reservation, the quality of the food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and my guests had a wonderful time. Thank you to The Daily Grill for a job well done!
We enjoyed the entire evening, the restaurant wasn’t too noisy so we could enjoy our friends. The food was delicious, I had the vegetable plate and my husband had a huge chicken pot pie. The waiter didn’t rush us all in all a wonderful time!
Service was incredibly slow. The waiter was never around yet the restaurant was slow. The food was good but not worth the price.
We used to come here a lot. We hadn't been here in a long time. We will be coming here more often again! It was all just delicious. We had the lobster pot pie. It was full of huge hunks of lobster. It was on the specials list. Also, we had the chicken pot pie which is always on the menu. It was fabulous. We will be ordering that again. We definitely recommend this restaurant.
Oh, one very special perk. We belong to their insider club. That means they didn't charge us corkage. That was a great bonus to be able to bring our own wine.
For some reason it seems like the service is slow, everyone is very nice and the food was great but just need to pick up the pace.
The food and service were excellent. A great place to meet friends or have a nice couples dinner.
Wasn't a fan of the popcorn shrimp, the breading was a bit soggy, multiple pieces were stuck together and the shrimp seemed slightly undercooked. The burger and fries was amazing and well cooked. Service was great, very prompt and friendly. Got very busy on a weekday lunch with business lunches so we felt like we needed to scoot out when we were finished to free up the table for the next group waiting.
The restaurant was loud, service was slow, host and server did not greet with a smile. Host dropped and broke plate that we just finished eating. Will not recommend and will not be returning.
I would not recommend the Daily Grill to a friend based on this experience. I probably will return but will need a more positive experience before making a recommendation.
My friends and I have been many times to the Daily Grill and I saw the fixed price meal in their email ad to me. I made this reservation expecting that. When we arrived the noise was deafening. We were seated and the servers couldn't seem to figure out who was at our table. The service was slow and confused and we were told that there was no prix fixe as seen in the ad. We ordered wine and first and second courses. The wine took forever to come. The soup and accompaniments to the trout were barely warm. We had to ask for bread at least 3 times. At least the music/noise was turned down a bit and the manager gave us a slight discount on the food.
This was perhaps the most disappointing meal I have had at the Daily Grill after years of being there regularly.
Waiter terrible. Rude comments. Put in completely wrong order and didn’t care. Manager attitude not any better. Food less than mediocre. Promise not to return or let friends dine here.
It was a little hectic when we walked in. However, we checked in and were seated immediately in an alcove perfect for our group.
I took a bit of time before our order arrived. Good thing we had plenty to discuss and were therefore distracted.
Wendy was great and very helpful. Food was excellent.
Casual and comfortable. Good for anyone with children. Good Happy hour menu though I rarely make it there in time. I usually have a salad but this visit I had the short ribs and they were very good
Have always enjoyed this restaurant, particurally one of special waiter, so this is a difficult review to write!
AND, we give them 5 stars for the way they handled a very unfortunate situation.
BUT, as we rely on other people to provide us with honest reviews, we need to advise that after eating a good number of the skinny french fries, a dead (fairly large bug) was found in the middle of them....
Not a bug that walked onto the plate or flew onto the plate, but one that must have died in the kitchen and somehow gotten into the food??? Hopefully, this was a singular situation, but after the incident, I went back and checked Online ratings and noticed other similar issues, so we needed to get it out.
Again, management handled the issue promptly and appropriately, so we would like to believe that they have given the kitchen and extra special deep clean to every nook and cranny. Fingers crossed. Prior to that the food was delicious and waitstaff lovely.
Great place to have lunch or brunch and meet with friends. I'm a vegetarian and must say the Grilled Veggie plate was superb - a variety of vegetables grilled to perfection - and very tasty, with a special sauce. This dish can easily be ruined, but here I will have it again and again. I didn't see many other vegetarian options, however. All in all, we had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely come back.
The food ranged from good to poor. The popcorn shrimp was not crisp. The tater tots were good but probably frozen. The fried chicken was not seasoned well and served room temperature. The pasta dish was mediocre. The burrito was good but I didn't realize the tortilla was whole wheat, which tastes terrible to me, so I just pulled out the insides. The bacon and eggs were good. Bloody Mary was good. The Almost Bottomless Mimosas were pedestrian.
Wendy, the server, was very friendly and prompt.
As always, the Daily Grill was excellent for our lunch and then allowed us to stay for several more hours to play a game we all play regularly. The food was delicious and generous. Service was outstanding. Very wonderful experience.
Love the meat loaf!
Place was nice, food was OK. Unfortunately, very poor service. Server very UN-attentive. Had to flag down multiple times to get service. Came to celebrate a special occasion (birthday) - specified reason in our reservation and mentioned to both the manager and server when arrived - nothing... Felt like they didn't care if we were there or not. Won't visit again.
Great food and service.....as usual.
Service a little shaky as the bar tender was also our wait and hod too much on her plate so to speak
We had a nice booth on back side of restaurant. The Cobb salad never disappoints me.
Waiter was real busy so forgot our bread and plates but we flagged someone else and were accommodated.
Our waitress Kayla was outstanding. She was so friendly and really added to the pleasure of dining. Our meals were excellent and Kayla was there when needed. She is definitely an asset to the Irvine location. They are lucky to have her!
Food always consistent however service was par as had asked for bread basket 4 times plus extra salad dressing as well as cream for coffee couple times. Restaurant was busy but not significantly to keep asking for items that should’ve been provided as I frequent this restaurant about 3 to 4 times a month
The noise level is prohibitive to any business lunches.
Always reliable and tasty. Disappointed they took their delicious Strawberry Shortcake off the menu and jacked up the price of their sand dabs to above $20. Just last year it was $14.95 for exactly the same dish.
Nice place to meet a friend to catch up.
Food was good overall but I was disappointed with the macaroni and cheese I got. The pasta was very dry and the sauce was bland.
Robert was a wonderful waiter! He got bogged down but made us feel special. Celebrated a birthday with a free dessert.
Go spot for a business lunch. Portions just the right size. On this visit I enjoyed the Chicken Marsala special.
There were ants all over the table we were very upset could not finish our meal
The employees were very nice but there were literally 4 tables used in the whole place and they still forgot some of the order and the bacon was black. My first time there and probably my last. :(
Service was disappointing. We both ordered Cobb salads, which are part of the express lunch section, and while I did not time them, the wait was extraordinarily long for two salads, no starters. Server did not check on us until we finished eating.
This was my second visit to the Daily Grill in Irvine and both times were for lunch. I had their chopped salad last time and this visit I had the half turkey avocado sandwich and salad. The food is very good and the service is attentive. The restaurant gets quite busy at lunch on a daily basis. I would love to have dinner next time out. On select Friday nights that have a prime rib dinner that looks worthwhile.
