Daily Grill - Burbank Marriott Hotel Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was full of screaming children when we arrived; there was a big birthday party and also a dance convention at the hotel. The hostess seated us as far away from the noise as possible, which we appreciated. Our server was friendly and fairly efficient. The NY steak was tougher than it should have been for the 38 or 39 dollar price tag. We like the Daily Grill in general though this was not our best experience there.
We used to go to two other branches of the Daily Grill, in Hollywood and Studio City, both of which closed. We were happy to find this branch not too far away. Our server was exceptionally friendly and we enjoyed ordering some of our favorite dishes. The Daily Grill is always reliable with decent value
Polite, attentive and expedient service was the highlight of this business lunch. This Daily Grill is conveniently located across from the Burbank airport, which was the main reason we selected this restaurant. It was a great choice for relatively upscale business lunch where time was limited.
I use this restaurant as an office away from home. It is walking distance to the Bob Hope airport. The food is always dependable. The waiter staff is well trained in working business lunches. They are professional and attentive without interrupting. As I travel to various cities for business lunches, I always use Open Table to check out to see if a Daily Grill is in the vicinity.
I find the restaurant to be quite pricey. I had the skirt steak that is supposed to be the most popular. I didn't think very highly of it and I thought even less of the Caesar salad that I had. It was a pale color and it was nothing but stems. I did have a lemon drop martini that was very tasteful. All in all, I wouldn't return unless I was staying at the hotel and wanted something really quick. The waitress was very nice and accommodating and she made up for the not so good meal.
I went to the Daily Grill after battling to find a good place to meet a relative that I had never met. The food was good, the service was great, but what made this evening GREAT was the hostess. I really wish I had asked for her name, but she saw i was extremely nervous, asked if there was anything she could do and when I told her the situation, she put a comforting hand on my arm and gave me words of encouragement. She was AMAZING. I so appreciated her sincerity and was really touched.
We come here regularly as it's a perfect "in between" meeting spot for us with friends and we consistently have great food & service. Their seared ahi appetizer is truly excellent and the standard by which I judge others. This time I changed it up and ordered the penne pasta and was delighted with how good it was. I had to shoo my husband away because he kept stealing bites off my plate! Portions are generous so there is usually enough for lunch the following day...if your husband doesn't steal too many tastes!
Almost every time we entertain business guests, this is our spot for lunch. The back area tends to be quieter, while the front area usually gets the larger groups. I've never seen the bar crowded, but then, I do not go there after work on Fridays. One of the nicest places in the immediate area.
Burbank Marriott on NY Eve to attend Rose Parade early next morning & chose Daily Grill for convenience & ratings. Downsides: restaurant mgmt underestimated how busy they would be. Happy Hour was busy & servers struggled to keep up. 7:30 pm dinner reservation & no apology when seated 8:30 pm. POSITIVES: We had a wonderful server (Emily) & she worked to make the dinner enjoyable & well served. We appreciated a round table, comfortably seated & allowed us to easily talk. BEST DINNER: Skirt steak - cooked med-rare to perfection. The Earthquake Zin wine a good, well priced choice. The New Years Eve 3 course prix fixe special was enjoyed by several & a great deal for 49.95. Overall very good experience!
The Daily Grill is always reliable for consistent good food. They have a great menu and went to two Daily Grill's this weekend just by coincidence and each time we enjoyed different dishes. The Burbank Marriott is across the street from Burbank airport and so very convenient to meet people who are traveling.
We arrived for our 9:15 pm reservation. We were greated by a hostess that was really rough around the edges. She tried to put a party of three in a very narrow booth. I asked to be moved to a table. She grumbled. I didnit like the table choice and asked to be moved. I am in a boot for my foot that has been injured and felt i needed some room. I pointed to the table i wanted to sit at and was finally granted my wish. Food was ok but not how I remembered the Daily grill to be in the past. Not a good night for this resturant. Food service was slow.
We have eaten at this Daily Grill several times and have had better food and better service before.
We had a very nice but very slow waiter that forgot one of the items we ordered.
We had an event to get to and were in a time crunch which we let him know as soon as we sat down.
The boneless Tuscany chicken was a bit dried out & a little tasteless.
The clam chowder was good, the lentil soup was a bit thin & fair tasting. The other items were good.
all in all not completely happy.
Make sure you have cash if you use a gift card, since only the restaurant tab can be placed on the gift card. Most awkward as we were not informed. We gave the tab ($70 plus) and the card with a $100 balance to the waitress. A credit card couldn't be used for the tip as we were not then purchasing anything. Patron should be informed of policy when gift card is taken by waitress!! Of course if the bill came to more than the card balance, that balance with tip could be placed on a credit. Fortunately we had cash, otherwise it would have been most awkward to leave no tip.
If you don't have a car and are 'sentenced' to the Burbank Airport Marriott hotel's restaurant (there don't seem to be any other restaurants within reasonable walking distance of the hotel), you will likely find something on the menu that suits you. The selection and fare is perfectly adequate, but I wouldn't go so far as to say 'inspired.' Prices are a little high for what it is. Our server started out strong, helpful, and proactive, but disappeared after the food arrived. Fortunately we were able to flag her down so we could order dessert...
