What Insiders Are Saying
Dai Due is the epitome of a modern Texas restaurant done right.
Came for restaurant week, but ordered Saturday Supper Club. Everything was delicious!
Had not been here in a while and we were literally blown away by the quality of food, ambience, and service. Keep it up!
Always outstanding -- Friday supper club is nearly always fish. If there is space,
consider sitting at the bar. Best view of the grill. As a desert, the pecan cake
was fantastic! Highly recommended
We ate here as part of Austin restaurant week.
The menu was excellent, and the wait staff attentive and friendly. We had our two year old with us and while they don't have a kids menu, they amended one of the mains and a desert to make it toddler friendly!
We found the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. Definitely somewhere we will head back to!
Amazing food. Would’ve loved more personality and effort from servers. Kinda felt rushed and like a number. They kept running away right after and rarely came by. However, food is worth it. Amazing ribs.
We all got the Supper club because it was a great deal - just $30 for entree, dessert, and coffee or tea. The fish and chips were good and the desserts were AMAZING! The vibe was friendly. We stayed and talked long after the bill was payed and didn’t feel rushed (It was Thursday early)
The best food in Austin in a gracious authentic unpretentious setting.
Only Texas produce, meats and wine are served. All the food was delicious. The owner/chef stopped by the table which is always a nice treat. Some of the best custard I’ve had flavored by the inside of a peach pit! Definitely recommended for a couple’s dinner and date night. I’d also recommend sharing a couple apps then family style with a large portion of protein.
VERY disappointing visit. We’ve been patrons since their opening, but the meat off the grill was over cooked
I would definitely recommend Dai Due to our friends, family, and others I meet. The food speaks for itself, the server we had was so sweet and personable, and I feel good about what I'm eating there. It's a great date spot, a special treat for my husband and I!
Great setting and ambiance but very mediocre food.
Overcooked steak with very little flavor that required to order extra butter
Above average burger but nothing to rave about.
Excessive use of garlic and condiments which mask the flavors of the food vs finding the right balance
Sourdough Bread was very salty. Hamburger okay.
Our entire dinner experience from start to end was incredible at Dai Due. We chose the Supper Club option which was very well priced considered two entrees, coffee/tea, and two desserts. Both entrees was incredible, especially the venison tartar which I was pleasantly surprised by. Wait staff shifted around which allowed them to stay on top of everyone at all times. Very nice and helpful. Just an amazing experience.
Day Due was incredible. Charlotte our server was great and welcoming and informative. We had a lot of different items off the menu and it was all excellent. By far the best pork chop I’ve ever eaten, and even the butterscotch pudding was a great surprise. I am excited to go back with different friends so that they can enjoy it as much as me!
The hamburger is the best I have ever had. We will be going back to taste many other items on the menu.
I highly recommend this place, food was really awesome, the watermelon beverage was the only thing I didn’t love, but wine, ambiance, atmosphere and food are great.
Fun birthday lunch. Great local food, specializing in local meats. There was one vegetarian option on the lunch menu, which was very good, and some seafood from the gulf. Local produce, local drink menu. A little more than we normally pay for lunch (about $15-18 per entree), but a nice place for a special occasion). It was so delicious! My son, the birthday celebrant, raved about the fried quail sandwich.
Food is very good. Decor prompted us feel like we were on vacation in some quaint, east coast restaurant that has a wood burning stove.
The wine options are limited and do not keep up with the quality of the food, unfortunately.
Service is top flight. Knowledgeable staff who are very accommodating.
Easily the best restaurant in Austin. I eat nearly 90% of my meals out of this kitchen. Seriously. I never have to worry about any garbage in the meals. Always fresh, local, and high quality. The staff is also incredible and fun to be around. DO NOT MISS OUT on this place, the beef ribs and meat cuts (and organ meat dishes) are to die for.
Service was impeccable. Very attentive and friendly. Ordered the Saturday grill special which was delicious. The pate and wild boar confit was also great. The ambiance was nice, not too noisy even though the restaurant was pretty busy.
I looked at the menu ahead of time but I must have mixed up lunch and dinner. I wasn't prepared for the price of dinner. It was lovely, just a shock. I think they should look at the website again to make things a little clearer.
Always fantastic. Great staff, great food, great atmosphere!
A loved one’s parents were in town. Dai Due is probably their favorite restaurant in Austin. As with every other time we’ve dined there, food and service were top notch. There was a surprising bump of attendance right before we arrived at 9pm on a Thursday, with only two servers on the floor. Kelly (our server) was dynamite and we were taken care of 100% throughout our wonderful dining experience.
Everything was perfect! They had a great selection of wine, perfectly cooked food and our waitress was very helpful with any and all questions.
Dai Due is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. Local ingredients, deliciously prepared.
Great meal with a superb bottle of wine. Continues to be a fantastic dining choice with consistently fine food and great service.
Always so delicious and friendly, efficient service.
The atmosphere is so welcoming and relaxing. The food was incredible, and so fresh!
Dai Due satisfied this food lover to the soul. Our dining experience was professional yet casual and low key. The focus was on the food. They wowed us with the Chicken Liver Pate, housemade bread with anise, pork porterhouse and beef sirloin grilled to perfection and sides that made okra and corn my favorite veggies. For dessert we opted to go savory with the cheese and peach option, again with fabulous homemade bread. We had a lovely Duchman Texas Anglianico with dinner and mead and coffee for dessert. Everything was made by a talented individual whose heart was in what we ate and drank. Service was lovely as well. Restaurant is a bit too loud, this was a well attended Tuesday evening. Overall I highly recommend putting this on your dining rotation, you can even stop by the butcher counter and take home some fantastic items for your grill, the boar sausages and brined pork have both been big winners so far. Many thanks.
Food was great. I made a reservation for 1 pm hoping to minimize noise level for a business meeting. It was a good decision. I did ask for a booth for the 2 of us and was told they were reserved for 4 people. Several were empty and then a couple came in and they got a booth despite several 2 person tables being empty. Urge consistency — if you tell customers no booths for 2, stick to it or move those who ask first to a booth when it is clear the lunch rush is over. Noise level is an issue that sometimes results in another choice even though I love the food! FYI.
really loved the "queso" and the wild boar. House red wine was plenty good. Really enjoyed the experience. Would definitely return!
We had the supper club for two on a Saturday night. We were presented with a wonderful curated collection of meats (wild boar, venison, pork, quail) and seasonal veggies. Loved seeing the open fire of the kitchen and seeing the chefs working. Our server was very attentive. Had the experience of a lifetime!
The overall vibe was very nice, but it was for a late lunch so it was quiet.
Service was excellent. Good selections of beers.
My pastrami sandwich was most excellent!
However, my friend $20 Wagyu hamburger was cooked medium well even though we asked for it cooked medium. Criminal to treat good meat like that!!
Our server is the main reason why I would not come back to dine at this establishment. Any time your server greets you with a demeanor of disdain and attitude of passive-aggresion, that's a great indicator its probably not going to be the greatest dining experience.
Great Father’s Day lunch for the 2 of us, but noise level made conversation a little difficult
One of the best meals ever. Such care and attention to detail. The staff was super friendly, and the prices reasonable for the quality. We will return often to see how the menu changes with the seasons.
My husband which included appetizer, entree, desserts, and dessert tea or coffee. Everything we were served was delicious and cooked to perfection. We would definitely go back. Quality food and service. ( They also had a beautiful outdoor patio table for a large party. Made me wish we went with a large group)
Great experience, food very good. Did miss a full bar but wine/beer menu fairly expansive. On the high side for a la carte
I appreciate the idea behind Dai Due- their use of Texas-only local ingredients was what caught my eye. However, the execution fell short for me. The decor and hardware in the restaurant are very tasteful, however the ambience is slightly awkward as the space is quite small and wait staff are forced to squeeze between tables. I am close enough to the nearest table to reach over and grab a bite off of a stranger's plate. The waitress was initially quite cold and we had a hard time getting attention from her, she eventually warmed up toward the end of the meal, however. The main courses were decent but nothing special. The larger cut vegetables were nearly raw, and the chicken I had was, although well cooked, very bland. The quality of and preparation of the meat were promising. The deserts were the largest let downs of the evening. The lemon verbena item was completely lacking any flavor whatsoever and resembled wax in taste and texture. The butterscotch pudding was extremely salty and did not taste like butterscotch. I will likely not return, which is a bummer. I would love to support this establishment however it is not worth the price point.
Everything about the experience at Dai Due was delicious! Even the fellow diners were delightful!
