We returned to Dai Due for a nostalgic date -- and for the food. Excellent, whether it was meat, mezze or sides. Our server was fantastic and helped us find the wine we liked the best.
The food was very good and delivered quickly. Their wait staff is very attentive. If you are vegetarian or vegan this place will not be a good fit. Everything on the menu is fairly heavy and only one small salad option.
What a great restaurant! The wait staff is wonderful— accommodating and friendly— and the service Is perfect! Ingredients used are the best available in Texas, sourced from area farmers, and the desserts are not to be missed! I eat here whenever I am in Austin!
Great farm house space with a butcher shop entrance. Creative casual farm to fork cooking. Craft beers and local wine.
Super crazy good. From start to finish. Pork chop simple and perfect. Fried chicken dinner delish. Excellent local wines. Friendly service. Winner!
Butcher shop in front, restaurant in back. Ambiance/service/everything else was great. But the food....the food is FANTASTIC. highly recommend the burger (I want to say a top 3 burger for me) and the dry-aged ribeye. We were also there for their supper club sunday - which is tallow fried chicken night. the chicken, the mashed sweet potatoes + fried cabbage, and the corn bread were all delicious. Had originally gone hoping to get the beef rib, but they didn't have it on the menu the day we were there. Will just have to get it next time, because there will definitely be a next time when I'm back in Austin.
My husband and I were blown away by how good the food tasted! The ribs were the tastiest I have ever eaten. We shared the mixed grill, thinking we'd have a lot to take home, but we only had a few scraps of sausage and a little au jus left over. Everything on the mixed grill was amazing. Every single piece of food we tasted was exquisite. This will be our go-to place for special occasions from now on.
We had reservations so seating wasn’t an issue. If you don’t have one you might wanna make one due to the limited seating. Tables for two are pretty close to other couples and can be a bit tight for space depending on what you order. The supper club special for two was more than enough food for both of us, would recommend... and for those who say it’s “heavy on the meat” that’s what you’re paying for with the supper club. It’s a full three courses with dessert. Everything we had was great (beef ribs, pork chop, quail, venison sausage and boar sausage for the mains - started with the crawfish salad and carpaccio - citrus sorbet and butterscotch pudding for dessert). Ordered a bottle of wine as well. $200 for everything. Recommend!
Valentines weekend date night. It was great. Service was perfect. Good pace. Ambiance was just what we were looking for.
It was a perfect evening
Went on Valentines day was disappointed we could only choose from the special menu. Felt like the food was ok compared to the high price. Sat super close to an annoyingly loud table and listened to their conversation the whole time. Overall not worth the money.
My significant other and I went to Dai Due for the first time for Valentine's Day, and we had an amazing experience. Because we ordered from the set menu specials (4 courses), we can't talk specifically about their normal menu, but everything we had was delicious and actually even better than their descriptions sounded (their quail coq au vin was the best I've ever had). The ambiance was good, and we enjoyed being able to see and hear the chefs call out the orders (their wood-burning grill was too cool). We'll definitely be back for another date night.
Tip: Dai Due has a butcher shop in the front, and they definitely know their meat. If you really enjoy finer meat, definitely go here.
I ate thirteen chickens in one meal. I don’t know where else to go for that. It was my second time dining here. The hominy and grits is a timeless classic. Tom Perini has a recipe like that out of Buffalo Gap. Everything about Dai Dué, just love it. The sticker on my guitar was free of charge. This will not be our last time dining at your establishment.
Very interesting and different menu but all were delicious! Our server was attentive and helpful. We will definitely come back and try brunch.
Honestly disappointing. It’s tough to get reservations but the place was empty. Their butcher counter in the front of the store was a little gross - not due to raw meat - but because it had oxidized from being on display all day. My wild boar ragu was a brick of meat in a subpar sauce with pickled kale. The kale was SO vinegary it burned my throat.
Last but not least: our food came out so quickly that we still had to linger over half a bottle of wine. Worse: the entire experience (including apps!) took only 45 minutes.
I like this better for lunch or brunch as supper is a bit too busy and loud for my taste. Very good food. Obviously very meat centric and portions are BIG so if that's your jam... you'll love it. Great service and a welcoming place. Very Austin!
This is in our top 3 of the restaurants we love in Austin. Always great food and service.
We ate outdoors under the grape arbor and enjoyed a great meal. The bistro has a superb kitchen and, because it is attached to a butcher shop, has access to prime quality meat of all kinds. The meals are all a little meat-heavy, although excellent side dishes full of greens and veggies provide great complements to the meat. We had the meal for two, which included a yellowfish crudo to start, followed by an oyster linguine, and then a large platter of greens and veggies containing a perfectly grilled one-pound pork chop, two kinds of sausage, a breaded elk cutlet, and the most succulent whole roasted quail I've ever had. Plus dessert, the bill for two was $137. Fortunately, they did not charge us what it was worth.
I've also eaten inside, where the noise level is a little higher and the tables more crowded, but we enjoyed our quiet conversation and the ability to just relax with terrific food. Great wait staff, comfortable ambience, and wonderful food: what more could you want?
The service was great and the ambiance was nice but the food was not so great. I ordered the Waygu burger and it was so salty I could not finish it. I also ordered a few sides and they were underwelming. Probably won't go back there again, but their meat counter looked pretty great, so I might check that out next time I'm in the east side.
Great food and cozy atmosphere. I had the pastrami sandwich with pickled green beans and it was awesome
The food is excellent. A little overpriced, but not terribly so. The wine list leaves a lot to be desired. I understand the desire to be locally sourced, but it's hard to match quality of the food with the Texas wines on their list. Still, I would return because the food is excellent.
If you want bland, but healthy food this is good ! Great for you typical Austin hipster 💃🏼
Service is amazing and courses always over deliver
Wonderful! Food was AMAZING! Service was professional!
Our server was very attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. Food was delicious!
Food was fantastic and loved the vibe. We will be back
Excellent experience all around! Food was incredible in a laid back atmosphere.
Traveling from out of town... was highly recommended.
Per usual so amazing. I just kept thinking maybe I’ll just have this course over and over.... every aspect is always wonderful here
Staff was great. Ingredients used were of quality but the execution of the dish was not good. Most of the meal was pretty tasteless or had a oil flavor aftertaste. Pretty disappointing when you are expecting quail and heirloom pork. The flavours were not worth the expense or the caloric intake.
Remarkably innovative and comfortable restaurant with a fabulous staff and a fantastic atmosphere. Recommended for eaters of all types--and thank you for accommodating our dietary restrictions!
This was a wonderful experience at a vibrant, trendy restaurant. Fanciful cocktail creations! Delicious chicken and sausage gumbo with a kick. We had the Sunday supper club special of tallow-fried chicken which was phenomenal. They have 2 choices—regular or spicy. Both were delicious but the spicy was amazing and VERY spicy. Desserts were tasty, especially the butterscotch pudding.
From start to finish it was a great and memorable experience at Dai Due! Food was phenomenal and service was great
This is easily one of our favorite spots in Austin. As a date night, you can't go wrong with the supper club. My girlfriends and I also come for happy hour - a carafe of bubbly, one of each of the desserts, and whatever the latest variation on wild boar is makes for a pretty fantastic evening.
Fabulous food but be sure to make a reservation. I literally wanted to order everything. I got the wild boar at it was soooo good.
Some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life, and to top it off it’s locally sourced. Well worth the price you pay for the food.
The four of us share the cold meat board and the centex mezze board. Both so delicious and unique! We also ordered the giant beef rib to split between the four of us and two sides to share. All absolutely delicious! I did feel that $94 was quite exorbitant for that entree.
Very good - will return
The food was delicious and the service was great! We'll definitely be back!
Great pork chop. Greens and grits as sides were perfect. Yummy lemon pudding cake for dessert. Hostess also was considerate with seating arrangements.
