Recommended by a local. Great choice. Menu is special - using local ingredients and interesting food combinations. Best of all it was Really GOOD FOOD! Service was pleasant, low key and on time. Loved the ambiance of the place and across the street from my hotel. A little pricey, but you get a lot of good upscale food for your money - so good value. Nice surprises, like little fruit jellies included with my sherbet. (I believe all were house made. ) Don't miss dessert there.
We arrived early and they seated us right away anyway. Our food was perfectly prepared and tasted fantastic. We had the braised short ribs and the salmon, and both were wonderful. The portion sizes were perfect, not too big. The service was as good as expected. Loved everything!
Dahlia Lounge is one of my favorites for lunch with colleagues. It's quiet enough that you can actually have a conversation, and the food is delicious! Favorites include the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo, and every salad I've tried.
The food at this Tom Douglas restaurant (like all of his restaurants) is true to local cuisine and absolutely AMAZING. I have been going to the Dahlia for 15 years and have never had a meal that was anything less then spectacular! The service can be a bit slow when busy, but that give you plenty of opportunity to people watch and discuss business with colleagues and clients.
Everything was excellent! Loved the ambiance, the service and the location! We were able to eat a wonderful meal and then walk 2 blocks to the Moore Theater to catch a show afterwards. The Dahlia martini was made to perfection, and was a nice way to start the meal. I had the crab cakes which were seriously some of the best I’ve ever had! I’m looking forward to going back soon!
Our meal was fantastic overall. We got the “taste of the sea” appetizer, large portion, which worked for three people. It was phenomenal!! Super fresh. I got the pork tenderloin and the other guests had duck. They said the duck was excellent.
My pork was a bit dry for my taste. But overall was terrific. We will absolutely come back.
Lunch Menu Restaurant Week. First visit to Dahlia Lounge was somewhat disappointing after all I have heard about it for years. Most dishes were lackluster other than the tomato soup (excellent) and chanterelle pasta (excellent). The pork sandwich was tasteless and the two deserts we had were very small portions and mediocre taste. I've had better cupcakes from chain stores and the coconut cream pie was so so.
Came here for Seattle Restaurant Week with a friend who was visiting. Parking is hard to find, it took me nearly 20 minutes to find parking 4 blocks away. Food was ok. Nothing that really “wowed” me. Portions were small. Don’t think I’d come back or order from the regular menu since the Seattle Restaurant Week pricing equaled some of their regular entree prices.
Went for Seattle restaurant week. The appetizers were interesting, I would almost skip those and go with the $5 loaf of bread from dahlia bakery. I had the pasta and chanterelle mushrooms, so delicious. Friend had the pork tenderloin. The desserts were delicious, skip the goat cheese cheeesecake unless you really like goat cheese
Always a classic. Great food and great service. Only ding was my friend requested no croutons on her soup, and it came with croutons. She fished them out. When waitress realized the mistake, the soup was gone, so she presented my friend with a green apple sorbet with dessert. So all ended well.
We went for lunch because of its restaurant week menu. The restaurant is not up to my expectation. The starter tastes strange. The pork sandwich is burnt. The desert cupcake tastes cheap. I guess this is what you get for 18 dollars 2 course lunch. But definitely not going to visit again.
Food is consistently good. It's been a couple years since I have dined there, and the burger is still tasty but is now *tiny*. And $18. That is the only complaint, though. Everyone else enjoyed their food and service was good. Mandatory 20% tip is now imposed, though. Thank you Seattle minimum wage.
This was the second time that I have had the privilege of dining at Dahlia Lounge and it was even better than the first time, which was amazing.
It is currently restaurant week until November 2 and the three-course meal for $33 was a great Value for the amount of food anf variations you could order. I would also highly recommend the pairing, either the half pour for $16 or full pour for $26. Don’t be afraid of the pairing choices, the Chef knows what they are doing. I am not a white wine fan but paired with the actual dish it complemented expertly.
We had truly splendid service from our server, he was very personable and friendly yet not intrusive, helped us choose our meals and drinks with skill, and kept our meal with friends moving along at a very pleasant pace.
The food itself was excellent and perfectly cooked. And the coconut cream pie is sublime.
We had always been told about Dahlia lounge, and finally had the opportunity to try. The food was great. From shared plates, to the main courses and dessert, there was not a bad bite.
What made our experience was the service. Our waitress was engaged, but not overbearing. She understood our time needs and was on top of all the ordering, but again without being overbearing about it. She was extremely nice, and was able to chat with us as well.
Overall, this exceeded our expectations and we would definitely go back.
Lunch selection was abysmal, they have more variety at McDonalds. I went here for the splendid reviews and recommendations on so many food choices but was sad to see only about 4-6 average plates on their lunch menu, seems like this is more of a dinner place when they bring out their full menu.
The restaurant was accommodating even though our large group trickled in very slowly. The donuts were amazing, and my duck hash was good. I do wish there were more dishes that catered to different dietary restrictions. One friend did not eat eggs, and was also vegetarian and the only option left was a grilled cheese, which was mediocre.
