My experience here was mediocre at best. There is a 20% service charge on the bill (fine, if I get good service). I was dining alone, my server said hello once, took my order, dropped off my food, took away my tea infuser (without asking, I would have loved more water), then dropped my bill off on the table before I even finished my food. I was trying to have a leisurely breakfast and the restaurant wasn't full (his section next to the bar was completely empty save for me), but instead of checking in, refilling my water, and letting me enjoy myself, I had a $27 breakfast for one, without the option to rehydrate, while I watched him flirt with his female coworkers. Totally ridiculous.

My first time here and I was so glad that I finally decided to give it a try. Food was outstanding, the service was great and the whole atmosphere was fantastic.
My wife and I are wondered why we had not come in before this. Highly recommend

Every time I’ve eaten at the Dahlia Lounge over the past ten years I’ve had a fantastic meal! This time I had the fried chicken salad - so delicious and unique! Don’t forget to go next door for some great bakery items to take home for the next day. The server was wonderful too. I’m Grateful!

Love the ambiance. A rush as one enters the restaurant.
Food is a bit too oily and buttery. Bottom line too rich.
We've been dining with Dahlia for over a decade. There not one dish on the menu that brings us back....meaning theres always forget what we ate.Nothing in our memory sticks.
I sense this is important. Is there any signature dish that stands alone. I say no.

Dined here on Valentine's Day and it was perfect! They had a special menu and had decorated with balloons. The ambience was fun and romantic and big city hipster (in a good way) ! The food was absolutely wonderful, beautifully plated and extra delicious!

I hate to write this review as we have always enjoyed dining at Tom Douglas’ restaurants.
Tom needs to start tasting his recipes. The omelette I had was very bland almost to the point of tasting like nothing but scrambled, unsalted eggs. The potatoes were deep fried and crispy, but again almost flavorless. My wife said her crab cake was excellent. She also had a Bloody Mary , which she said was basically tomato juice with one olive on a toothpick; no celery, no pickled asparagus, no other garnishes - a missed opportunity at presentation of a simple drink. We both had a curry soup which was very good. The service was top notch

Food was very good. I do think the dining experience is compromised by seeing the staff hurriedly running about. Makes you think management is missing some organizational skills. We were dining, not eating at a diner.

This was our second visit to Dahlia Lounge in two months. On our first visit, both the food and the service were exceptional. This time our food was quite good, but the service was terrible. We were left waiting to order drinks, waiting to order our meals, waiting for refills, and waiting for quite a while after we were done eating for our check. Perhaps our waitress had an off night, but it is the poor service we will remember from this meal.

Always among the top three Seattle restaurants for me. This time, though, I was disappointed in the crab cakes. I've had them many times, with varied presentations, but this time the cakes themselves were rather bland and the accompaniments were boring.

My wife and I received a Tom Douglas gift certificate and we decided to use it at the Dahlia Lounge. It is a terrific spot with excellent service, yet it was very noisy and the food was not great. I started with the yellowfin tuna tartar, which was tasteless. I asked for small cup of the sauce that accompanied my wife's beef tartar to add taste to the tuna. We ordered the bread and butter which was fine. I had the Penn Cove mussels which were wonderful, but the broth that they came in was tasteless and it had little bits of chorizo, which were so overcooked that tasted like little hard nuggets and had to be careful that you don't chip a tooth. A shame to defile those beautiful mussels . My wife had the duck which was dry even swimming in a sauce. The highlight of the meal was the dessert of donuts, freshly made, with a wonderful jam and vanilla mascarpone. It almost made up for the poor showing on the other parts of the meal. It seems to me that Tom should check on the quality of his product at the Dahlia Lounge.

The dishes on the menu had odd combinations of flavors. I just wasn't crazy about it. The handkerchief pasta dish was so-so. Not very flavorful, and the pickled grapes added an odd note. The server was nice.

Highly anticipated diner based on reviews and menu. The food felt pre-prepared not cooked fresh. Both appetizers were poor. Arctic char was a no more than a smoked fish I could purchase at Costco. "Grilled fish" was breaded and fried. No harmony in the tastes and textures.

Birthday celebration brunch. Wonderful hospitality, absolutely great server. Food was also excellent. We had a great brunch experience with only one glitch. When we were departing, I asked the woman we checked in with to take a picture of our group. She was so preoccupied talking to some guy that she seemed bothered. And just took it without even waiting for us to be ready. Other than her, was great and we’llreturn.

Four of us enjoyed a lovely dinner before a show at the Moore Theater. Cocktails and oysters were yummy. Dinner was amazing -- the duck & salmon were noteworthy. I had diet restrictions and they were great at modifying for me. Easy to hear each other and enjoy a conversation. A delightful evening all around!!

I remember Dahlia in it's early days when it was smaller and, in my opinion, more creative. Not that it was bad, because it wasn't, but I hadn't been in some time and the food left me a bit underwhelmed for the price. There are many venues in the region that are producing better food for a similar price. It is an old standby kind of place, but it's gotten, to me, a bit stodgy compared to what it used to be.

It's been a while since we've eaten there (parking and traffic nightmare) so we were really looking forward to it. The result was "meh". Even the coconut pie was disappointing. It was mostly whipped cream with very little filling.

Food is good as always. Service was always good at TD’s restaurants. I agree with the 20% gratuity / service charge .... all the time Except this brunch. Our waitress was ... careless.

She took our order, delivered the food and didn’t want to spend a *Second more for her tables.

There’re yummy condiments came with our meals. We tried to find out but the waitress was not available. Of course, we found out what it was until our food was almost gone .....
A. disappointed. brunch.

Thank you, Dahlia Lounge, for the great food and drinks. No thanks to our server.

The server was as helpful as she could be but I won't be back for lunch unless you find it to offer more than one GF menu item. The spinach salad was pretty bland. Eating GF is not a fad - for those with Celiac it is a required way of life. We like food too and would hope that leading restaurateurs like Tom Douglas would offer choices for great food without the gluten.

In the beginning.......there was the Dahlia Lounge. Now, there is a Tom Douglas empire, but the Dahlia Lounge remains in tip-top form. Everytime I go there for lunch, I try really really hard NOT to order the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup; but alas, I can't walk away from the crunchy bread, the melted cheese from heaven, and the second best tomato bisque I've ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth. (Yeah, I *do* think mine is better....but just by a skosh.)
If you're popping into Seattle, this is the one restaurant you need to eat at. If you live here, you already know what tastiness awaits you. And if you haven't been to the DL in a while, come back. Your old friend is just as lovely as the last time you visited.
