Daddy Jack's Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Daddy Jacks is a great long-established restaurant at the busy Meridian - 96th Intersection. It's adjacent to the unique Kona Jack's seafood restaurant that has a wonderful and eclectic seafood menu. I had a business lunch at Daddy Jacks and it's a good place to talk heavy business stuff. Good energy, no background music and the overall sound level doesn't impede conversation. I had a really unique salmon BLT...yes, you read it correctly. Healthy benefit of salmon and just enough "B" to feel like you've had the "unhealthy."
We've been to Daddy Jack's many times over the years. Our experience this time however was less than great. We are meeting friends there for a get together and our server couldn't manage to refill our drinks. We are placed in a very odd shaped corner table for four people wear three of us were in the booth side and one of us was on the table side. We had reservations so I was very disappointed at where we are sat. We had to repeatedly ask server to take her order bring drink refills and she never actually came back to ask how her food was. Given the price of this restaurant I think it's a little ridiculous that you have a server working there that's so poor
Our table was ready and waiting when we arrived. Our party had some business to conduct, and the wait staff was available but did not press us or interfere, and gave us adequate time to get things done, while making sure we had everything we needed. Whenever this group has a luncheon meeting we always select this location.
Eat at Daddy Jacks quite often. Enjoy being able to sit outside and having Angela as our server. Food is always very good, love the live music and the atmosphere is very relaxing. My only negative is that as you dine outside the ash tray is too close to some of the dinning tables. Smokers who choose to go outside need to be moved further away from your outdoor seating area. Mainly on the Pak Mail side of the outdoor area.
My experience in the past with daddy Jack's has been good, but this time I was highly discussed.
Our server was not good, and kept forgetting things. Our order came out incorrect. Myself and one other ordered the Louisiana ribeye, and both of them came out with our sauce we asked, but the Cajun seasoning wasn't even on there, and the onions and mushrooms weren't even on the plate.
We did get appetizers from kona Jack's, the calamari was great but there was a piece of a tag in it that was fried.
The sushi was good though.
We had a great time at Daddy Jack's on Friday evening before a performance at Clowes Hall. Our waitress was attentive but not overly obtrusive. The food was excellent and the atmosphere fun. It has a sports bar ambience so, while it isn't conducive of quiet, romantic conversation, it is a fun and friendly place to eat.
Decor is outdated and the clientele are all elderly folks.
Ordered a cream ale that tasted like there was soap or perfume in the beer.
Service was slow and food was average at best. Friend got the ny strip and said there was zero seasoning. I ordered some sushi and it was ok, but no oceanworld
We went for Valentine's Day and enjoyed our dinner very much. We weren't rushed through courses and service was terrific. The food was great, had the delicious pot stickers app (from sushi bar). Petite Filet and Lobster with drawn butter was fantastic. The scallop potatos weren't as cheesy or crispy as I was expecting and fairly ordinary. Great bread served with a special cinnamon butter which was tasy but not necessarily a good match with our meals. Overall lovely evening, mature crowd. Highly recommend this as a place with nice ambience and high quality food is reasonably priced.
