food and service were great. Fast and delicious!
This is a lovely little restaurant, where we (a group of women) were treated very kindly. The food was delicious and moderately priced.
What a great find in the theater district! The food was outstanding - the entrees (pasta, fish chicken special with sausage); the appetizers and the desserts - it was all simply delicious. And the value for the price was great! The servers were wonderful and they were very conscious of our schedule to get to a show. We will definitely go back!
Just keep of watch of time. Kitchen was a little slow on Saturday night and we had a show. So we had to rush a tiny bit.
Just what we were looking for. A small classic Italian spot with white table cloths, white jacket servers, good food and friendly service.
It was my husband’s birthday. We have been coming here for over 25 years and have never been disappointed. Paarl is a gracious host and welcomed us warmly and seated us promptly. We had just attended the matinee performance of West Side Story, which we thoroughly enjoyed. As we were perusing the menu over cocktails, the two leads in the show walked in for a meal between performances. What a treat!
Our meals were amazing; we each chose one of the specials, I had the branzino in a light tomato sauce with olives and capers and my husband opted for the lobster ravioli with crabmeat and tomato sauce. My husband will no longer order lobster ravioli anywhere else! He cleaned his plate. The staff brought over a tiramisu with a candle and sang happy birthday, which was a lovely treat. We will be coming back here for another 25 years!
Service was not great. Food and wine was ok and affordable.
Pre-theater dinner service was fast but attentive. We plan to return.
My husband and I had such a nice dinner. The food was delicious...reminded me of my father-in-law’s (from Ischia, Italy) cooking. The Scaloppine Di Vitello Piccata was the best we’ve tasted. Comfortable and cozy...perfect for a quiet dinner in the city.
My girlfriend and I had a lovely dinner at Da Tommaso on Valentine’s Day. The ambience, food, and service were phenomenal. We will definitely return!
Booked via open table with a 5000 point reward. However, Da Tommaso did not give me credit for the reward. When the bill came it was a hand written slip which did not indicate what I was charged for, just a list of prices. I believed Da Tommaso did not take the points and I would be able to use them at another restaurant. However, when I logged into Open Table after the meal, my 5000 points were gone.
Found online and thought it would be a good choice. We weren’t happy with the entrees. Penne vodka was so watery, chicken picanta was blah. Dessert chocolate mouse was average. Nothing impressive at all for us traveling to the city for the night to enjoy dinner and a show. Just wasn’t worth the price we paid unfortunately.
Wonderful pre-theater dinner. Our flight was delayed and we were late and not only did they accommodate us but they got us in and out quickly without making it feel rushed.
Great atmosphere and food.
Beautiful restaurant, good selection. The best veal marsala in the city!
Great restaurant!! Always enjoy it!!!
The atmosphere and food was wonderful. I will be back on my next visit to NYC.
Very good overall experience.
Excellent service, cozy old time ambiance , great food. We had the baked clams, penne vodka and a bolognese dish. All wonderful and fresh . We will come here again .
Food was great. Too many tables packed into too small a space. Felt as if the waiters were rushing us to finish our meal for the next set of customers.
Great Caesar salad and house salads
Went on a recommendation from a friend s as nd we loved it. Delicious food and wine and great service
Mussels were excellent - loved the roasted garlic fllavor.
This is the best Italian restaurant in new your city. Great food and location and amazing wait staff.
Skip the desserts. They’re terrible. Everything else is excellent.
Had pre-show dinner at Da Tommaso and it was fantastic. I was concerned that because of its theater district location it would be too "touristy", but it was an awesome, authentic Italian dinner and every dish was delicious.
We made reservations for 6:00 PM as we had tickets for a 8:00 PM show. When we arrived the restaurant was empty and we received our drinks and appetizer immediately. The wait staff was most gracious and fell over themselves to help us. The problem arose in that our main dishes did not arrive. We asked several times and received no satisfactory explanation as to the problem. We finally received our main dishes at 7:20 PM. Rather than a relaxed dinner, we had to rush through it, to give us time to walk to the theater. We made the reservation partially based on the fact that it was recommended for pretheater.
We were happy to find a restaurant near theater that was so good....We had not eaten there in many years and it was nice to know the food is as good as it was many years ago. We will go back when in that area.
very ordinary and expensive for what we got. Will not return.
Lovely dinner, good ambiance, very pretty setting. Food was excellent. Slight screw-up with one dish, but was rectified on the bill. Definitely will return.
Waiter was grumpy
Great food and service. Staff extremely friendly. Thanks for another fun night
The food was excellent and the wait staff was extremely attentive. We dined before the show and they made sure to have us out with more than enough time to make the show!
Booked Da Tommaso since we were seeing a show nearby. The waiter was grumpy, even called himself "Crazy Bruno". Kept rushing us to order. The food was just ok - the only person who really enjoyed their meal ordered the stuffed pork chop special. All in all, nothing special. We won't go back.
Food too heavy.
Excellent for a pre -theater meal.
If you do not leave a preposterously large tip, the servers will certainly be rude to you and for this reason we won’t ever go back.
