da Maurizio Ratings and Reviews
The food and service was top notch. The chairs were Terrible. we both left with backaches
and could hardly wait to get out of there. Very not nice experience. We won 't be coming back or recommending. I am taking another friend out for dinner this week and hoped it would be here, but can't risk another very uncomfy experience. Sorry, I think you sacrificed " style " for comfort.
Don’t visit Halifax often but in between visits I crave my special “Nick seafood Pasta” which is the best ever! Everyone treats us special which means a lot to us old birds! We tell all our friends about this special place and the special staff who make us feel so welcomed!
Great restaurant, impeccable service, which was most likely the highlight of this dining experience.
The food was great, I would rate it 4/5 stars, I had the duck breast and leg confit, although the breast was good, the leg confit was a bit dry to my liking and the sides were poorly prepared/ stale.
On the other hand, portions are fantastic if you have a great appetite.
My wife had the seafood tomato stew which was brillant.
Overall, Damaurizio is by far the best Italian restaurant in town, the food quality and genuine kindness of the staff places them miles ahead of the bycicle thief.
This is absolutely the best restaurant we have ever frequented. It is pretty bad that we got excited making our next reservation. This is our 6th time here over the last year and a half and we have never been disappointed in any course. They have all been excellent and we have now tried about half the menu. We are absolutely excited for our next visit next month.
Chose DaMaurizio's as we hadn't been there for awhile and we were so happy we did, as we all really enjoyed the meal, and the service was outstanding. Tanya and her Team have a way of making you feel welcome, and go out of their way, without being intrusive to make sure everything is perfect.
The meal was really good but the place was very busy and tables were too close together. We came at 6:30 to avoid the crowd but even then we were brushing elbows with the neighbours. If the restaurant could combine their exceptional menu and service with a small table in a very quiet corner (that I prefer), it would be perfect for my taste.
We had a delightful lunch in celebration of a birthday and retirement. service was impeccable, very friendly and attentive but not too much. Food was delicious and the setting was so enjoyable. It was not busy so we took our time out of a hectic Christmas time, It was so peaceful and we felt quite special. We'll be back for sure.
Chosen for a birthday treat for a friend who loves food. Service was impeccable. There was a company christmas party going on in one part that was separated off, but this did not affect service. Server was so discreet, one of those where you go to ask for more water and your glass is magically full. Good wine list (needs updating to modern tastes) and not obviously accessible. Still the best in Halifax. Consistently great.
Always our "go to" resto for special occasions and other. Never ever been disappointed with the food . Stable staffing personnel always pleasant, eager to help and knowledgeable about dinner offerings. Proprietor takes great care in ensuring a welcoming and memorable dining experience.
Da Maurizio is the best restaurant we have ever been to. No matter what you order, it is going to be excellent. My goal is to try as many menu items as I can. My wife and I will not go anywhere else for fine dining other than here. This place will be sadly missed when we leave this area!
I don't know how many times we have eaten here but everytime it is fantastic. Even though Kelly was super busy (group of 40 upstairs and a group of 13 downstairs plus his tables) he never made us feel like he was. Right from the minute we walked through the door you made us feel welcomed and like you trulely appreciated us choosing to dine with you. This is why we will keep coming back over and over again.
We had a spectacular meal for my Dad's 80th birthday. The staff went to a great deal of trouble to make it a very special evening. They even included a personalized 80th birthday message on his dessert. Great service and delicious food. The calamari is the best in the city!
Da Maurizio never disappoints! We returned for our anniversary October 14th. Food and service were excellent, as usual. Calamari is an excellent starter. All pasta dishes that we have tried are excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant for excellent Italian food and excellent service.
