First time visiting this Houston establishment. The food was delicious, the staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was cozy. It’s a bit pricey but worth the experience.
I believe this to be among the top restaurants in Houston as well as the state. A must go for anyone wanting authentic italian with a courteous staff.
Waiter was very unprofessional. I.E. dropped the champagne cork in my water then didn’t bring me a new one, pulled the specials for the day board from our table within 2 mins, did not bring it back over when he realized that they were out of one particular special, etc. Messed up multiple times placing our order and forgot to send items. Tried to blame an unexpectedly busy Saturday night...
Funny part was watching waiter delivery a happy anniversary dish to the wrong table. Not funny part was table beside us belting out racial epithets. Wildly inappropriate
Food was amazing experience was garbage though
Very nice meal. Great service. Always nice evening. Always great food. Nice ambiance
A bass fish barely enough for 2 people was 165 dollars very plain no sauces to add flavor to it
an average cab worth 20 dollars a bottle at HEB was sold here anywhere from 200 to 3000 dollars :-(
unless you are super rich and don't mind wasting your money you can come here
Many other places with better food same service and much better value for your $$$
After 10 years, still my favorite restaurant in Houston.
Which is saying something.
Per usual - excellent service & ambiance.
Excellently in every way. Eric was our sever and he couldn’t have been more helpful.
Food was great. The service like always the best.
The food was great along with the service!
The combination of Chef Alfredo and Jose waiting at the table is a winner, outstanding, exceptional.
Very good overall experience. Food was good. Service was outstanding. Exactly what one would expect of a high quality eatery.
Everything was amazing! Thank you fir making my birthday such a special one!
The tuna tartar, artichokes, and octopus are excellent appetizers. We split the truffle pasta as a primi which I highly recommend you do because it is very rich. I prefer the white truffles so I suggest waiting until they are available. My husband and I split the branzino which was perfect. The standout dessert was the strawberry cheesecake but it's really more like a mousse. I wanted to lick the plate. My only minor complaint was their failure to update the wine list which did not have 2 of my selections. (Our waiter suggested a wine that was 75% more expensive than the one I had selected.) We did really like the wine chosen by the Somm. Da Marco is an amazing Houston gem for special occasions.
Wonderful but seriously for these prices the facility needs a facelift. Ceiling, restrooms, chairs. All of it needs attention. Service, food and wine spectacular. Waiters are superb. Recover the chairs, put out some fresh ( not plastic) flowers.. spruce up the restrooms, clean the ceilings. Keep the integrity of the understated and simple atmosphere but....It’s time. An old building is charming. An old building without proper attention is not.
The restaurant is a top notch and the best Italien food in Houston, is a MUST try and ask for Jose very knowledgeable about the menu.... please, don’t say it expensive or the portions are small NO, it’s a gastronomic restaurant.
Excellent service and outstanding food. Great for a special occasion.
A longstanding Houston establishment which still meets all the requirements for being one of the best
in the city. Great food, great service, and not so noisy that one can have a conversation without shouting. Decor is simpl.e elegance...always a pleasure to host luncheon or dinner at Da Marco
Excellent service as usual! Food was top notch and creative!
I made a reservation for 7 people for lunch at 1:30. I double checked with restaurant knowing they closed at 2:00 and was assured that it would be no problem. We felt from the time we walked in -when we were very casually greeted by the maître d' that we were not welcomed. Very unfortunate since we were celebrating a birthday and looking forward to dining here. Unless you know management or are a regular, don't come here. Can't blame service personnel...it's all management.
The table ordered Aperol Spritz from the menu. I asked for an additional shot of Aperol because I felt my drink was lacking and was told, they were out. No wonder my drink was lacking. Should have given us an option to order a different drink vs. shorting the drinks.
Only a matter of time.....the end
Very good food, however some waiters trying to push for most expensive items, totally unnecessary.
We had a wonderful evening and the Branzino was fabulous. .
We had not been to Da Marco in several years and it will not be that long til we return. The entire evening was wonderful from the round table in the corner to the warm and efficient waitstaff and our meal was nothing short of divine! The grilled octopus appetizer, the strip and the black spaghetti special were true standouts.
Excellent but this time food was too salty, friend and I were drinking water all afternoon
Great but some dishes like the truffle risotto overpriced
Another excellent dinner for special night out. The service was excellent and excellent meals.
Service is excellent. Food is great too
Da Marco is one of the best, if not the best, restaurants in Houston. The food is inventive while maintaining tradition. The sommelier is superb and the service cannot be beat.
Second time I’ve been to Da Marco. Incredible in every aspect, as before. The food is incredible. Great, helpful, knowledgeable staff. I wish I could afford to eat there every day!
We had never been and were a little disappointed in the food selections and related prices.
Most was lovely. Paparadelle special was great. Beef filet special, prime step and desserts were so-so. Ambiance, service and sommelier were spot on.
We loved the wild Italian fish and the ambiance of the restaurant.
Wonderful! Food Amazing! Can’t wait to go back.
We had lovely lunch. The service, food, and ambiance were great. We will be back.
My favorite restaurant in Houston. Everything we have had is delicious. Service is 1st class. Pricey, but well worth it.
Once again incredible service. I can count the restaurants in this country with this quality of service on the fingers of one hand. Absolutely impeccable. The food is out of this world. I cannot get enough of this place.
It’s a very old school rich people kinda place. Lots of waiters running everywhere, classic old home type feel, and typical multiple course meal.
Service was great, food was excellent but the portions were very small. Nearly impossible to share anything and VERY expensive. It was a fun experience and I love the old school atmosphere over the more modern restaurant scene but likely won’t be back any time too soon.
The food was not good. I had the potato gnocchis, with not much explanation on the menu I did not know it had squid in it. Not really a big deal because I do enjoy a well made squid but for medical reasons I shouldn’t eat squid. It was very bland. My daughter had lobster ravioli which was decent but the main flavor was butter.
This is the best restaurant you will ever eat at. Everything about it is amazing.
Over the years, Da Marco has consistently been Houston’s best restaurant-and it still is.
