We really enjoyed our meal and the restaurant in general! It was not busy as several people had canceled reservations due to a snow storm. This being said, we expected the service to be 100%. They forgot one of our appetizers and the waitress apologized and said it was her mistake. We really enjoyed the meal! We give the food 5+ Stars and the ambiance the same BUT the service could have been a touch better. We would definitely return. The price was right and we always love BYOs because our wine is affordable!!
The food is amazing and the service is even better. You may get lucky and hear some live piano music! From appetizers to coffee and dessert, da Filippo’s is a great choice. BYOB I recommend asking the servers for help if you’re unsure what to order.
Beautiful atmosphere. Family owned. Chef phenomenal!
The owner and his wife are always friendly and accommodating. They explain the menu carefully and offer suggestions. The atmosphere is very friendly and I love listening to the piano when he sings and plays. Love this place
Excellent, unusual Sicilan/Sardinian dishes and BYO!
Love the Ambience , the food and the loving hospitality of the owner Couple .Owner also plays the Piano and has a great voice 👍❤️
Always a great dinner a t Fillipo's! Been going for many years and never dissapointed!
This was our first time at the recommendation of a friend. We were greeted by the owners who made us feel welcomed and like we were family. The food was outstanding and different from typical, even upper scale, restaurants. Service was excellent and not rushed. Atmosphere is warm and relatively quiet. In short, it is outstanding and we’ll definitely return.
We always have a good time and a great meal at Fillipos. Highly recommended. The owners are very friendly and always stop by at the table.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband’s birthday with our son and daughter-in-law. The staff was so welcoming and made sure that we were well taken care of and comfortable. The food, from appetizers to desserts, was fantastic! We truly enjoyed our dining experience and are looking forward to our next visit. We highly recommend dining here, you won’t regret it!
A great meal with great service!!
This is our 'go-to' restaurant. I had the pasta special, which was delicious. It had a hint of mashed broccoli in with the red sauce. Outstanding, I hope they offer it again. As an appetizer, I tried the special which was a lentil soup with sausage. Again, outstanding. The bread is always fresh from the oven and we eat so much bread we had to bring part our entrees home. The owner's are friendly and want to ensure the customer's experience is pleasant.
Great meals and wonderful service!
The owner (wife) meets you at the entrance, the owner play piano (husband) and the staff is just so friendly and attentive BUT they let you sit back and savor your meal - never a feeling that they are rushing you - in fact, I think they would stay for hours after closing time if you were relaxed and enjoying yourself! It is a BYOB - which is nice and prices are also very reasonable.
Baby octopus was grand!
The owners made us feel like family! Food was delicious!
We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere- always a joy to celebrate at da Filippo
Always great. Really special when Filippo plays live music on piano.
Used Open Table to find a restaurant in Somerville. da Filippo Autentica was selected based on reviews. We did not know what to expect. We are so happy that we chose this restaurant. It is "warm" and very comfortable. The hostess (owner) is friendly, conversational and her background is interesting and made us feel at home. The menu is extensive, creative and authentic. Everything is cooked to perfection, with what I can only describe as love. This is a new favorite restaurant, well worth the 30 minute drive. Oh, and her husband, who is the chef, later came out and played the piano.
Da Filippo is a very friendly restaurant with an excellent menu that never fails to delight.
Always a wonderful meal.
Food was disappointing after all the hype we had heard about the restaurant. Wine was apparently self serve (unlike any other BYOB in the area) and the service was so slow it lead us to believe our order had been forgotten. Would not recommend.
