Causal, good price, great meal! Would definitely go again.
My wife and I were in NYC to begin an Atlantic cruise and needed to find a quick dinner. I made reservations because it was so convent to our hotel. But the meal was unexpectedly great. My wife had a Ceasar salad and I had the potato gnocchi. The gnocchi were substantial without being heavy. The melted in the mouth and satisfied my hunger. The wine was first class and good value. This meal start ed our vacation with the perfect send-off. I recommend eating here whenever you want traditional Italian food prepared with loving care.
P.S. Service was friendly and quick.
Food and ambiance was just okay. Felt almost like a diner...
Pasta was way better than expected. All homemade, fantastic. Service was great too!
Tara, our server and Dominic were great. Too many delicious things on the menu to decide. Food was excellent and authentic. Highly recommend.
Came here with my dad and partner before a church service at St. Paul's. Had the fried artichoke appetizer, wagyu bolognese and chocolate mousse tart. Service here was really excellent and the owner Claudio was super cordial. The fried artichoke hearts were really good and so was the bolognese. This place is definitely a nice find if you're in the financial district. Only complaint is that some of the hazelnut ice cream had ice crystals in it like it had melted and then ben re-frozen. But they did have a wonderful bottle of Nero D'avola Sicilian red wine.
Such a cute neighborhood Italian spot. The staff was amazing and the food was great! We had the arugula salad and a pasta with a spicy red sauce (yum!) definitely would recommend!!
The food was amazing, the service was attentive, nice atmosphere.. so pleasantly surprised!
This was our this client dinner here and it was wonderful as usual. The service and the food were excellent. There were nice specials, interesting drinks and solid italian staples like lasagna and bolognese. The appetizers were awesome as well. Thanks for a great evening.
Outstanding venue for a meal in the FIDI. My second meal here and it was just as good the second time. Highly recommend.
A neighborhood gem! Always delicious with great service and drinks
Excellent Caesar and tomato/arugula salad. The dressings on both were light and salads were not overdressed.
My husband is very fussy about his eggplant parmigiana and he found this one perfect. My garganelli bolognese was so very good.
Dessert was an olive oil cake with a berry compote and it was a perfect ending to a perfect meal
Locale molto curato con sapori buoni e piatti presentati molto bene. Ottimo il servizio è la pulizia (cucina a vista...)
Ideale anche co i bambini.
We shared the Caesar salad and both had the Chicken Scallopini. Both were delicious, well seasoned and were nice sized portions. The chicken came with lots of vegetables and the salad had delicious and plentiful thin parmesan crisps on it. The vodka gimlet and glass of wine were both good.
Every single person was both kind and attentive to us, and the food was delicious!
This is our favorite Italian restaurant in NY. We travel to NYC a few times a year and always make a point of eating here.
Always a neighborhood favorite
It’s an amazing place with a vibrant atmosphere
Delicious food! Chicken and Veal dishes were exceptional. Serves were very nice. Overall it was a wonderful evening.
Delish! Great service!
I, along with several friends have been going to Da Claudio for years. We always sample a wide range of dishes, and have never been disappointed. No matter how crowded the place is, one never feels intruded upon. Tables are organized in a manner that gives you space. It’s a pleasant, airy, minimalist but sophisticated environment.
I’d like to single out our host for always remembering us and being his usual attentive and personable self.
And our favorite bartender ever, Jose, makes a mean Negroni. Our server, Daniel, who we met for the first time, ensured we had a most pleasant evening.
Stayed for a few hours. Never felt rushed. Enjoyed everything from the cocktails to the desserts.
The food, as always, was exceptional. They do a great job with the ever changing and exciting specials. It’s elevated Italian but without being pretentious. Brought my Italian immigrant parents (from Calabria) and even they loved it, which isn’t easy. They easily accommodate my gf allergy. No matter what always order the grilled vegetables—always a great side dish. The service is always spot on. Great bar area and love the open kitchen.
great place for drinks and dinner after work. very attentive staff
Having celiac disease makes it very difficult to eat out. But the waitress rechecked several times with the chef to make sure that the eggplant parm, fried ( in rice flour) zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta and octopus were all prepared gluten free. It was a delicious meal!!!!
Went twice in one week! Both times service was excellent. Food was also very very good - the salads were very fresh and I especially liked the garganelli. Again, service was outstanding!
Experience was great overall. Everyone provided excellent service. The food was solid.
Flavorful and creative food and cocktail selection. Lively FiDi scene and attentive but not overly-cloying service, with a personal touch.
So I visited this place to treat my friends. I had a prior reservation at this place. Their food and drinks picture and also their website was what caught my attention.
The food is as good as it looks and drinks (cocktails) were very well made.
We only had one small problem about reading the menu as the description wasn’t in English but the person taking order helped us with it completely. She guided us with the specials too. The bartender was very polite and made us some cocktails out of the menu.
Overall, the experience was great but I did not expect the bill to come up to the amount it did. It is a little expensive place.
It is truly a place for pasta and lasagna lovers.
I ate there with two people. Two of the three of us sent our dishes back after one bite. Truly tasteless. I am 52 years old, have lived in NYC for 30 years, and it is the first time I have ever sent back food. The waiter was lovely and asked if we wanted something else. We declined. The host gave us free desserts which were yummy.
Da Claudio is a lovely restaurant with a varied, excellent menu that has something for everyone. The staff is attentive and the owner, Claudio, is warm and welcoming. The food is very good, sometimes better than that. I cannot eat the octopus appetizer often enough. I have hosted a large dinner at Da Claudio--20+ people--and Claudio and his wife, Linda, made the planning easy and everything was perfect. Recommended for lunch, drinks, dinner. Great find in the FiDi area.
Another outstanding meal at this neighborhood gem. Ivanna, our waitress was super. From her sweet smile to her attentiveness. She made us feel like a valued customer.
We had mozzarella saiad with figs, peach and tomato plus - it was great. Followed up with pasta dishes including carbonara both excellent service was excellent - we were around 5:30 pm after busy afternoon walking around Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn
Authentic and unique Italian experience.
We enjoyed our dining experience so much & Elizabeth was a very lovely and made the night even better! We highly recommend this place!
Food always fresh and awesome. Service not so great this time.
This gem is our go to! Great food
This is a hidden gem in Fidi! Very nice ambiance, food is outstanding, the noise level is low so you can have a nice conversation with your friends. The owner is taking care of everything and very kind. Highly recommend it.
