da Capo - Avon Ratings and Reviews
We had reservations for 7:30 but finished our day touring early and decided to go and see if they could accommodate us at 6:30. There was a long line of cars waiting to get into the parking lot so we weren’t holding out much hope but when we got in they sat us immediately. Waitress was wonderful, food was amazing but the noise level was borderline deafening to me. Noise aside I would definitely come back here when visiting the area
Another solid dinner from DaCapo. I reserved for the bar area as we like that ambiance, but they initially were trying to seat us in the main area (more casual and can get loud with families). We asked to be seated in the bar area and they agreed. Our server was very good - attentive despite it being a busy friday night. We had some of the craft cocktails - always well done -- these are seasonal wit cider, apple, & I believe even a pumpkin cocktail. Also an excellent beer selection and wine list. Dinner was very good - steaks, seafood, pasta - great variety. Desserts can be limited here and our experience is the chocolate mousse cake is served slightly frozen. We asked about warming it & our server said that probably wasn't a good idea, but she warmed the plate which worked very well! Thank you!
Lobster Linguini special was absolutely delicious, seemed like more than one lobster was in it. The Chicken Marsala was also excellent , very tasty and satisfying. Great ambiance and service very attentive. Parking not a problem since there's plenty at the village shoppes. Locals do take out.
Always seem to mess up a simple salad and barely got any salad.. I go there enough to know how much they usually put in a salad and I got a baby salad while everyone else at the table got salads 3 times my size. Not only that but when I asked for a bit more in my salad they brought me out more lettuce only. Wasn't even that packed like it normally was.
Service was excellent, friendly, not rushed, refilled water often! Started with drink order, then freshly baked rolls. Food was delicious - we had pasta with shrimp. Ice cream for dessert, served in a martini glass! Perfect spot to meet friends for dinner - something for everyone.
The restaurant staff was very accommodating to me as I am temporarily unable to walk and seated us at a table where my knee scooter would be out of the way of other diners. The brick ramp walk is a bit uneven, so I suggest anyone using take time using it. The table service was excellent and the portions were substantial. Small salads are shareable. My linguine vongole was excellent. We went there in the past and will return.
It's usually a 'hit or miss' with da Capo for our family. This time was a miss. We ordered an appetizer that failed to arrive before our meal was served to us. Don't know what happened with that but it left a sour note with us. Everyone enjoyed their meals though and the house cab was delicious.
We dined at da Capo recently with another couple and had a very good dinner. I had the lasagne and found it to be a good size portion and quite tasty. My husband had the da Capo salad with shrimp and really enjoyed it. One of the others had the Frutti de Mari and said it was excellent! Before hand we split some calamari which was the perfect size portion to share.
Our waitress was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu choices. Besides that she surprised us at the end with a fantastic dessert to share! It was an incredible slice of chocolate, mousse and (I think) whipped cream with a chocolate glaze on top! We were really full from dinner, but managed to finish this somehow!
da Capo is an ideal place to have a casual dinner, but with good food and service.
Food is consistently delicious and portions are large. We had a wonderful waiter, Peter, the last two times we dined at DaCapo. He has made our dining experience completely enjoyable. The only thing that would make dining here absolutely perfect would be less noise in both dining rooms. Not sure if it's the wood floors or if the ceilings are low but the last few times we've eaten here the noise has been distracting.
Six of us went for dinner. It was our first visit. We had a variety of meals, all of which were very good and reasonably priced. Although we did not have salads, they looked very big and fresh. The amount of food delivered is above average. We had several veal and chicken parms, a pizza, and shellfish pastas. Everyone liked their food and some of us brought some home. They offer regular sized meals and family sized meals, a nice way for sharing if everyone has the same thing. Service was fine and prices were reasonable.
We have always enjoyed da Capo, but it has been many months since we were last there. Not a deliberate avoidance but timing, location and circumstance never seemed to work out. Tonight we joined a friend at da Capo for dinner.
We asked for and got a table in the dinning room because it is quieter than the bar. Service is attentive but not overbearing. Can not comment on most dishes on the menu because we always revert to our old favorites. Mine is penne vongole because the menu standard linguine dribbles down my shirt. My wife always orders a non-menu penne with marinara, vegetables, olives and shrimp. Da Capos always delivers on our requests and we are satisfied.
The menu formerly featured a beet salad, which we sorely miss. We settled for the apple salad which is nearly as good. Be warned; the salads are a meal in themselves. They are certainly worth sharing.
We need to arrange our schedule to stop by da Capo more often.
Pizza was pretty good, not as good as we've had their in the past. Waitress was inattentive, unhelpful with regard to questions about the menu, and abrupt, bordering on rude. Drinks took much too long, food did not come out all at once; in fact there was probably a 7-10 minute wait between the one entree and the two pizzas we ordered. There are way too many options for great pizza; we may not be back.
A wonderful place to watch a game at the bar. Craft cocktails. Outstanding Italian food with a very nice wine list and large portions. Unusually, some of the dishes are served in family size portions that are a great value. The chicken parmesan is outstanding and the leftovers will make an ample lunch.
We hosted old friends up from Florida for the weekend and wanted a good dinning spot close to the hotel. The food was great, service excellent the value outstanding. The only drawback was the initial noise level before the crowd started to thin out. We recommend da Capos to all our friends in the area.
