Best restaurant in New Jersey
Our waiter was stressed and hurried My guess....we were there on New Year’s Eve
Always a favorite of ours when we lived in N.J. Unfortunately we’re now a 3 hour drive away, but it was totally worth the ride. Brings back great memories, and the food and service are as excellent as always! My black bass entree special was so succulent and flavorful. A true gem of a restaurant!
Wonderful dinner with friends. The appetizer of pasta with bolognese sauce was outstanding. Everyone else enjoyed the goat cheese salad. Loved the Veal Chop breaded with salad on top. Although the steak dishes were enjoyed, the two steaks were very fatty. The Veal Chop with vegetables was wonderful as well. The lovely touch of cookies and biscotti was enjoyed. Would recommend Da Benito for a great night out. Looking forward to New Year's Eve dinner here....
A great dining experience. The food was fantastic and the service was very professional.
This is consistently one of the finest restaurants in New Jersey and it has been for a long time
Excellent meal in all respects. We love this restaurant. Brought friends for their first time and they loved it too. Roasted peppers and all pasta entrees were perfect. Nice cocktails too. Great hospitality. Bravo
If you want to try some of the best Italian food in the area, and in NJ in general, pay da Benito a visit. Benito has wonderful menu with ever-changing daily specials. Seafood often dominates the main specials, but they also do wonderful steak and veal specials. Not a meat eater? Plenty of nice pasta choices, including the famous 3-cheese ravioli (which isn't on the menu, BTW).
When my wife and I arrived at the restaurant there was no one to greet us, there were waitstaff which seem to be running, and I mean literally running all around the restaurant but no one acknowledged us. Eventually the hostess arrived and showed us to our table. After we sat several waiters came up to us and try to take our drink order seemingly like they didn’t know who had our table, we were also asked several times if they could take our dinner order after we had already placed it. There seems to be an ample amount of help just very unorganized . I guess it’s better than being ignored. We had the stuffed clams and pasta fagoli both were very good. For dinner we had the osso bucco and the strip steak again very well cooked and very good for dessert we shared a fruit Napoleon which again was excellent unfortunately we were finished with with our dessert by the time coffee came. I believe that if we had been seated in a different spot in the restaurant we wouldn’t of seen all the problems with the waitstaff, not terrible but we were seated right by the wait station and we saw and heard all that was going on. We will probably give them another chance, based on their food, but perhaps not on Saturday.
Food and service were fantastic. Our servers were attentive to all things food and beverage and the Maitre D' was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Our only complaint was the noise level, some sound proofing would certainly help and it was difficult to have a conversation at a normal volume and/or to hear each other, even though there was no background music playing.
We will definitely be back, we would likely just rethink timing to avoid some of the volume.
