da Benito Ristorante
Good food, great service, and terrific accommodation for two if our group that requested special dishes!
Great all round experience !!!!!
excellent food and service. the bartender is fantastic and I would highly recommend the place.
This restaurant is always terrific. It offers fine dining for New Jersey residents without their having to fight traffic crossing the river to get to New York City for an excellent meal.
Enjoyed a relaxing evening dining on spicy sauteed calamari, super Caesar salad with great garlic and anchovy flavor. I adore the roasted chicken with green beans and parsnip root but my husband opted for this entree. In turn, I ordered the veal scallopine over fennel/Yukon gold hash, which was a really nice dish with a flavorful sauce. Caymus was on the wine list and we couldn't be happier, it is one of our favorite Cabernets. Cappuccino and house made gelato rounded out a wonderful night. I also wish to commend the wait staff for their polished and competent service to provide a great dining experience.
The best restaurant in New Jersey! Consistent, creative, and beyond delicious!
Fantastic place known to locals for years. Benito personally greets all of his guests in a friendly and jovial atmosphere. Creative and interesting presentations provide for a most unique dining experience. One of the best, if not the best, in the area.
Service and cuisine are top notch. We enjoy the Caesar salad every time we visit. It is prepared with an abundance of garlic and anchovy, which we love. Crisp skinned roasted chicken with parsnips and green beans is my go to entree. My husband usually opts for something from the special menu to keep it interesting or he will order the NY strip steak. No matter the choice, the food is prepared and plated well. Their wine list continues to evolve, as popular Cabs come to the fore front. Always a great evening at Benito Ristoranti.
Some things were good and somethings were not. Cocktails were terrible - order wine. Crab cakes were terrible. Grilled shrimp dinner was good. Napoleon dessert was good. Cappuccino was good. Nothing was outstanding. This place is for old timers.
Everything was amazing. The food, drinks, and waiters were all phenomenal! Pricey but worth every cent.
Always heard Benito was really special, somehow we never made it there. Until this past Tuesday, my wife’s birthday and I really wanted to go somewhere special with her and special for her. Well, sometimes even I get it right. Special really doesn’t say enough about really really great this place is. Food from appetizers to dessert was beyond great. Tasted fresh, looked like it would look right on a Gourmet Magazine Cover. The chef really knows what he’s doing, and he came by our table twice and also every other table as well. The servers were attentive without being on top of you every minute. But really the best part of the night was the room itself. Great bar, nice decor. My wife commented that it was like going back in time to when class was class.
Don’t be like me and wait to get there. Go now, you will not be disappointed.
I have been dining at da Benito's now for 30+ years and the restaurant continues to maintain a level of service that is second to none. The staff is friendly, extremely attentive and always available. The food continues to be mouth watering delicious and the Caesar salad is made from scratch and not bottled dressing. Overall I look forward to out next time dinning there.
Delicious from start to finish!! One of the best restaurants in NJ!
Food & service are consistently excellent. Have been coming here for over 20 years & have never been disappointed
Wow! The food is always delicious and consistent. We shared an appetizer of grilled octopus which was a recommendation from our server. He was spot on. Perfect! I ordered the gnocchi, again, perfectly cooked, so light and pillowy in a very delicious and light tomato sauce. My dining partner enjoyed a striped bass over greens, another perfect dish. Our favorite bartender Niam suggested a wine and we thoroughly enjoyed it with our dinner. Lovely restaurant with attentive owners.
As a family we've been going to Mr. Benito's place for more then 10 years. Benny is a great owner and his daughter Laura, and son are great hosts as well and make you feel like family. Mr. Benito is a warm and congenial host always knows what is going on at ALL times (I mean this in a good way)! Please go and try "Da Benito" we guarantee you won't be disappointed and will become a return guest, like us!!!
Dinner with friends, always a good time. Restaurant exceptionally busy with private parties.
Absolutely the best restaurant ever. Great food, great service and the chef came out to greet the customers. The waiters were wonderful and made us feel like royalty!
Always the best! Consistently outstanding. Best wine list anywhere.
The restaurant is very nice and the food is delicious. It is not typical italian food. We had the tuna tartar appetizer as well as the pasta fagoli soup. The steak, halibut and special pasta of the night was excellent. We would definitely return.
I went for dinner with my girlfriend, I like the atmosphere of the restaurant and the wine list , but the food was ok , we both ordered pasta but unfortunately it tasted like frozen food, they need to improve their quality. Also they need to train their servers how to poor wine not to fill it to the top .
I used to go there in the 90s for work but it was too far away from my home to go. I just recently moved into the area. Couldn’t wait to try it out again. It’s as good as I remember!! Will be a regular in my rotation!
The place to go to experience true culinary experience. I consider it the best Italian haute cuisine in NJ
Excellent food and service! Large portions, attractive rooms, welcoming and pleasant ambiance. The best veal scaloppine in NJ and beats some very good place in NYC. The wine list is excellent with good selections at every price point and some outstanding wines if you want to celebrate. We live this place.
Great experience. Wife wanted Italian for her birthday dinner. They did not disappoint!
The restaurant was excellent. A very courteous staff who while attentive did not give you the feeling of being rushed. Excellent food and easy to get to. The roasted pepper and burratta appetizer is a must and for vegetarians the penne primavera is an easy choice.
Pretty good overall. Just something about the ambience + service that was a little off putting.
We love the Caesar salad for two, garlicky with anchovies for that salty, savory taste. My favorite entree is the roasted chicken with green beans and parsnips. Crispy skin and moist breast, it is worth the 30 minute preparation time. The wait staff is courteous, efficient and always available when needed. All entrees that I have tried (osso bucco, rack of lamb, filet mignon, black sea bass) have been cooked to perfection, seasoned well and plated beautifully. Always a pleasure to dine at Benito's.
Consistently excellent. The food is always exquisite. The service impeccable and friendly. Just the perfect dining experience.
Best Italian food in NJ great wine list, great service.
I have been to many restaurants. I find that it is difficult to find a restaurant that has excellent food, service, ambiance and value. I am happy to say that Benito’s is one of those rare gems. That has all four. I will and have refered many friends and colleagues. I plan on making Benito’s one of my regular establishment.
Great Italian food and atmosphere
Veal scaloppini was very rich and too heavy. Pasta special good. The apps were best- roasted beets w goat cheese and crab cakes. House Chianti was decent. Cappuccino was good, reg coffee was very weak. The waiter was rushing us which is weird bc no one really came in after our 8:15 res and there were empty tables- they didn’t need to turn over our table. 8:15 reservation we were literally out in the parking lot by 9:00. Had menus in our hands for 2 minutes and waiter wanted to know what we wanted for dinner. Never told us about the specials. Way too pushy and they kept trying to take plates away when there was food on them. They tried to take away the bread before the dinner came and had to ask him to put it back down. Seriously felt like we were pushed out instead of the 2 of us having a nice night out dining. It’s expensive so should not feel Like you’re imposing on them by just being there.
Food is great as always and service is attentive. Love the atmosphere
The food was amazing! This was my second time there and the food did not disappoint
Been going for nearly 30 years. Benito never lets his standards drop.
Exceptional food service & ambience. Pricey but worth it. Good selection of wine & decadent desserts.
Busy night for Benito's but certainly worth the wait. The service attentive and eager to please. The food prepared, seasoned and presented well. Relaxing dining experience.
Benito's has always been one of our favorite places to eat, the osso bucco is the best I've ever had, The restaurant is quiet and the wait staff very attentive. The only complain from my husband was he felt his portion of papardelle was very tasty but small.
