We have a wonderful time in the D.Burnham restaurant.All the staff from service to the management was amazing and attentive food was great we will be coming back definitely recommended.

Food took 45 minutes to arrive at our table after we ordered with no check in from the wait person. When it arrived three of the four entrees were room temperature. The fourth only slightly warm. We finally managed to wave down the waitperson and he said he would send the manager over. Manager offered to redo the entree but since we had been there over an hour already. End result is we weren’t charged for the entrees. We paid for drinks and left. This used to be a nice place with good food and service but nearly every employee we encountered seemed to be either unhappy or in a really bad mood.
Our server was so kind and very attentive. Our waters were constantly refilled, and that was great as well. It is a great location with a fantastic atmosphere.
Unfortunately, our lunch itself was not good (the reason we went). We got the charcuterie board as an appetizer. The meat and cheese were very good, but the bread was not edible. It was very stale. And I understand that this may be the way you like your bread for the board, but this wasn't toasted, it was aged/stale. You would cause dental damage by eating this bread. Meat and cheese = yes; bread = don't risk it.
For the main dish, I ordered a turkey burger and the person I was with ordered the short rib sandwich, both with french fries. The fries were fine, a bit overfried like you would see at an outdoor festival, but that's just french fries so no biggie. The sandwiches were bad. The turkey burger comes with sauteed onions and mushrooms and cheese. Plus was that there was a lot of cheese. Negative is that the turkey burger had no moisture left and that the onions were really just thin onion slices that were clumped together into a ball on top of the burger and not cooked/sauteed (might want to use some olive oil/butter the next time you cook the onions). The short rib sandwich was worse. Short rib meat was overcooked (dry as a bone) which made it tough to eat. But the horseradish sauce had so much garlic in it that for the rest of the day you may stink of garlic. It was grilled in a panini press which was nice, but it also comes with wilted arugula (bummer).
In short, we're not going back to this restaurant for any food. Bright side is that you can get a post-work or date night cocktail with a good atmosphere. But that's all you should do here -- this place shouldn't have a kitchen.

If you enjoy restaurants with great decor, with wait staff that is polite but completely inattentive, a menu that is fairly high priced, and a kitchen that will take 90 minutes to cook your omelette incorrectly when you are the only person eating there, then D. Burnham’s is the place for you!
I’d recommend D. Burnham’s to anyone who is unaware of the numerous restaurants in Cincinnati, 99% of which are far better in every way. When you observe the empty dining room here and then see the packed dining room next door with an hour wait, this might be a sign of where to go eat.
D. Burnham’s was an OK restaurant when it opened a few years ago. It is not anymore. It is now an unbelievably bad restaurant and you should go almost anywhere else in town.

Excellent overall. The only negative would be the absence of anyone at the entry point to great you and escort you to a table. And all tables had not been set or reset for use so really could not choose any table as was offered.
Our waiter was also caring for people at the bar and we had 6 PM dinner reservations on a Saturday evening. He was not visible most of the time during our meal. We sat and placed our order at 6pm. Our salad came in 25 minutes but we were sitting at the table for 55 minutes before our main entree was served. The food was not exactly hot nor was it the best presentation. We asked for our bill when our meal was served because we did not know when the server might come back. We had tickets for a show at 8pm snd we were worried we might not make it as food was so delayed.
In all, we thought it was a a restaurant whereby we would have a celebration dinner for our weekend away but we were disappointed. I would not recommend the restaurant for a special night out downtown Cincinnati!

Restaurant overshadowed by noisy bar and a dozen or so TVs. As a result, the restaurant had very little atmosphere.
No tablecloths, despite a price almost as expensive as Orchids.

we arrived on time and it took an hour to,receive our food, despite the dining room only having one other table present when we arrived. Food took a long time to arrive and we were not offered additional beverages or dessert. We have dined here many times and this was by far the most disappointing.
Wonderful service for our family's lunch reservation. Great wine list and craft cocktail options. We enjoyed the unique appetizers and everyone's main course was delicious and prepared exactly as ordered. Would definitely return for happy hour and other meals!
The hotel and restaurant have a unique history and the staff were well versed to explain. We enjoyed the personalized service.. our waiter went out of his way to ensure we had everything we requested! And the couches were wonderful!

Our meal was great. The service was amazing! The hostess Keira I believe that’s how you spell her name was amazing!! She greeted us so kindly, gave options on things to try on the menu. I will be returning back to this restaurant!
We stopped at D. Burnhams on a Friday night before a concert. We ate in the bar because there was literally no one seated in the dining room. Not a good sign. Food was pretty good, if a bit overpriced. service was a little slow but decent. Pretty underwhelming overall
The food was delicious. The menu had plenty of options for all parties in your group. Beautiful decor and ambience. If anything the only complaint would be a little too long for getting the food however you can run into that at any nice place to eat on a Saturday night.
Ordered lox and bagel but they served it with strawberry cream cheese. Upon request they “hunted” for regular with the room service team. Restaurant was quiet and service was slow and not very attentive. Food was good not great. Not very impressed.
Waiter was short and not very friendly. While I was waiting for my lunch companion he was passing and chatting with another employee right over the top of my table... like I wasn’t even there. It was the weirdest thing.
This was our first time there but will not be our last. I had not heard of it but a friend recommended and so glad they did. The service by Jeremy was beyond great and Chef Justin, makes creative and delicious dishes. I will be back!
Took over an hour to receive our food. Food was not prepared correctly, came out pinkish after asking for well done. Will not be going back anytime soon
We made reservations for the Cincinnati Downtown Restaurant Week. They had a wedding reception in the bar and it was extremely noisy since it is largely open between the bar and restaurant. Service was a little slow but it was nice to be able to sit and talk after the wedding party left the bar.
For restaurant week we decided to try some place new. Big mistake.
Upon arrival there was no one at the reservation desk for a good five minutes. The space is divided into the bar area to the left and the restaurant to the right. There was a large, very loud group at the bar. When the hostess finally showed up we asked to be seated as far away as possible from the noise. Unfortunately, another very loud group sat close to us on the restaurant side. No escape. The accoustics are awful, uncarpeted floors and metal walls.
There was only one server for the entire restaurant side. Jeremy made a valiant effort in an impossible situation. If it wasn’t for him I would have given the service rating a 1. Service was slow, slow, slow all evening.
We each ordered a cocktail. My Old Fassioned was made well, however, it had one of those giant ice cubes yielding a drink the size of a thimble. At $17, it was outragiously over priced. My wife ordered a vodka Collins. It tasted mostly like water.
Salads were ok. My wife had the airplane chicken and actually thought it was very good. I had the cavatelli bolognese. I would be very much surprised if the restaurant’s cost for this dish was $5. It was not very good. I asked for grated Parmesan and this was not up to their capabilities.
For dessert my wife had the creme brûlée and I had the blueberry bread pudding. They were both excellent.
We ordered a bottle of wine which we did not care for and Jeremy was gracious in getting us a different bottle. So, that worked out well.
Also, valet parking was $15. I believe that’s the highest I’ve ever paid at a restaurant in Cincinnati.
Bottom line: This was restaurant week! D Burnham’s should have done everything possible to make every diner’s evening a success. They failed miserably.
We visited during restaurant week and the food was excellent. It is very noisy if there is a large group that takes over. If you are lucky to be there when the people talk in reasonable voices it is very enjoyable.
First time diner here and enjoyed our first experience. Downtown dining week was well executed and allowed us to try great salads, salmon and desserts. Will go back.
Nothing on the website mentioned it was only a buffet on the weekend for 25.00 per person. There was very little on it my son and i could eat.
The service was slow. They couldn’t keep up with the food in the buffet. Not a good place to go for mother’s day.
Food was very good and exceeded by the properly attentive service. A comfortable atmosphere for drinks and dinner both business and personal.
The salad had nothing in it but lettuce. The soup and chicken sandwich were good. The menu seemed limited and not too imaginative. There is almost no seafood at lunch.
Even with a reservation, my party and I stood at the door several minutes (3-7) without so much as being acknowledged by a few staff who had passed during that time. After some time, one from the party walked up to the bar to ask if the restaurant was still seating guests. After a shuffle of a few different employees, we had someone show us to a table.
The service was nothing exceptional but no real low points to mention for the service. We were there celebrating an anniversary which was left on the reservation as a note. The special occasion was not acknowledged. One opportunity for the server is to explain the menus or ask if the guests have been before to try and engage just a little bit more with the menu.
Over priced drinks. Average service. Good food. Recommend for someone on a business expense account.
Very disappointing - especially for the price. Go for a drink and appetizer. Skip the main course.
My friend ordered the vegetable panini without cheese because she’s vegan. Unfortunately, after the sandwich was delivered, it was clear that they had put cheese on the sandwich but attempted to peel it out. There were remnants of melted cheese in the sandwich and on the bread. So she stopped eating the sandwich, but because the food took so long, it wasn’t feasible to order something else before she caught her flight. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich but could not finish it because it was saturated in oil. The oil used to cook the chicken was so pervasive that I could barely taste anything else on the sandwich. Overall, a very unfortunate experience.
The meal was horible. One of four orders came out significantly later than the other 3. One was cold. One was undercooked. The Mac and cheese had almost no cheese. One side was served on the wrong plate. The time between ordering and food was excessive. The bread reminded me of sandwich bread.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere, cozy place to sit on couches and have drinks before dinner. Loved being downtown.

Would highly recommend the Crème Brûlée French Toast and the Burnham Burger.
The food was excellent. I really enjoyed the stuffed dates and the pistachio crusted sea bass. The atmosphere is very quiet, a bit too cut off from the action near the bar and street. I think it would be great if they could open the dining area to have more exposure to the bar area. This is a restaurant in a hotel, so no separate street entrance. You enter through a gorgeous art deco lobby. Overall, a nice dining experience.

Went right be a show at taft as this it's really only one of a few restaurants i walking distance. It was overpriced with poor service and we were 1 of 3 tables for Saturday dinner. The charcuterie board was subpar and consisted of cheeses I can get from my grocery in the pre-packaged aisle. My wife orders scallops and received 4 overcooked, chewy scallops with no side item (for $32). The tomato goat cheese brulee soup that the server raved about tasted like progresso with one tiny lump of goat cheese.
Really cool atmosphere in a beautiful hotel, but I would never go back.
Great place to meet for lunch. good options, excellent service. They remembered a birthday and surprised our guest with dessert and candle. A lovely touch.
