Cyprus Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We ordered the stuffed chicken, and when we cut it open it was completely raw. Sent it back, and when it came out the second time it was STILL raw. We were surprised no one even thought to check it.
Service was sub-par. After two incidents, we thought the manager would at least come by our table, but he didn't.
It was also ridiculously loud, although that could have been because we sat at the high top table next to the open kitchen. Would not recommend.
This was our first real meal at Cypress and we had six friends together for my birthday celebration. The menu was very diverse, interesting and easily satisfied all of our various palettes. We look forward to visiting Cypress again as soon as we get back to Highlands.
This was our second year to visit Cyprus and our only repeat of restaurants for our holiday trip. It did not disappoint! The menu is very eclectic and there is something for everyone! The goat dish was delicious and the attention to detail on plating all dishes was exceptional!
Set amidst the center of the downtown strip of Highlands, Cyprus boasts the prime location from its stoic vantage point on the second floor.
Offering an array of zesty plates from several countries around the globe, the menu will not leave you short of options.
Similarly, the menu diversity the Restaurant showcases is translated in the interior decor, mood and ambiance of the entire space.
Overall, I would definitely recommend stopping in next time your travels bring you in town.
We came up to highlands for Xmas week. Been to several of the restaurants here and nothing compares to the food here. If I were Michelin I would give this restaurant 1 star and that is a top honor since the best restaurants in the world can only get 3. The food is highly creative and full of fresh farm to table flavor. No heavy anything such as creams and over bearing sauces. The grouper was the baseline fish today and was prepared either French or Asian style and both preparations were to die for. The deserts were highly creative with lavender, raspberries, hand made wasabi lime ice cream and fresh baked goods. The kitchen action is exciting and open for all to see. The dining room is a bit understated and very casual BUT the food is top notch. Hands down the best dinner meal I have had all year and I have dined at Per Se, which is a 3 star Michelin in NYC and the meal here was right up there .
I HAD HEARD THIS RESTAURANT WAS GOOD HOWEVER; IT WAS FANTASTIC. FOOD FROM ALL OVER COOKED WITH PASSION! I TRIED SOME THAI DISHES PORK WITH 6 DIFFERENT SPICES IT WAS DELICIOUS. IT'S NICE WHEN THE CHEF COMES OVER TO INTRODUCE HIMSELF AND SHARES HIS JOY IN SERVING EXCELLENT AND AUTHENTIC CUISINE FROM ALL OVER! YOU CAN SIT AT THE BAR AND WATCH THEM COOK WHICH WE WILL DO THE NEXT TIME WE VISIT CYPRUS! A MUST GO TO WHEN IN THE HIGHLANDS.
The goat poblano was lovely. The ragu was very fatty and such a teeny portion for $30+.
Overall a bill of $100 for small portions and barely average food. It was the week before Christmas and many other places closed... and we were hungry and from out of town. Therefore, grateful they were open and the manager/owner was very friendly. But next time we’ll pop for a pizza and beer instead... we were disappointed.
Interesting presentation on menu by country (i.e., multiple countries listed followed by dishes identified w/respective countries). My Italian cavatelli with sundried tomatoes was excellent. Hubby’s grilled fish w/risotto was also appreciated. Overall very nice meal w/good service.
We were in Highlands for the Christmas parade, our yearly tradition. Great atmosphere, very good service. My daughter is eating vegan right now and the server was happy to ask the cook to remake her Pad Thai into a vegetarian meal. I had a goat dish and it was delicious. One suggestion: we love Moscow Mules and the ones here don’t have any ginger. They taste more like limeade. We’ve eaten at Cyprus several times and always have a great meal.
Nice people and good food. Nothing to get excited about. I felt the price was extremely high for the quality of food we received. The wine was great and for the most part the server was good. When we finished, it probably took around 20 minutes to get the check which was frustrating but I think they were low on staff.
Cyprus always is a treat. Highlands and Cyprus go hand in hand for a delightful occasion. The food choices are unique, the service is exceptional and the atmosphere festive. When in Highlands, do not miss it. When away from Highlands, head that way (with a reservation for sure).
This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend and the reviews were pretty good. It must have been an off night because we were really disappointed in our meal. The Pad Thai had a propane taste to it, strange but true. The sea bass was a bit over cooked, the fried calamari was gummy and the okrafries had no seasoning, just blah ....
The pork curry dish with rice was passable. With so many really good restaurants in Highlands, I’d be hard pressed to go back.
Service was extremely slow. We sat at table for at least 20 minutes before anyone even came over to our table. Food though was good enough to please my husband who is a very picky eater. That being said, we will return. We found the temperature extremely cool with all of the doors open.
The food was good but the service was slow. Our entrees were brought to the table but not the glasses of wine we had ordered. After a long wait, while our food was getting cold (we were, sitting next to a breezy open window), I finally had to get up from the table and find a server to ask them to bring the wine. Our server never checked back to see how our meals were. The attitude there was not very welcoming from the time we arrived. And we were not dressed like slobs.
We bought a cabin in Cashiers a couple years ago and we drive 20 minute once or twice a week to have dinner at Cyprus. Their food is ALWAYS excellent. We sit at the Kitchen bar, that looks over the cooking area, and watch the owner/chef do his magic! My husband and I have NEVER had a bad meal here. Anytime we have company in town we take them here. Highly recommend!!! You will not be sorry!
The food was ok. The pasta was homemade and delish. I ordered the Kentucky Bourbon steak and it was very boring with no hint of flavor and extremely greasy. The porch is a nice place to go for a cocktail with friends but they are trying to do too much with the menu and not doing a very good job. It is also expensive. Go for drinks skip the food!
