Cyprus International Cuisine, The most exciting dining destination in Highlands
Arrived to locked restaurant with sign stating, "Closed for renovations". I had received a confirmation text the day before, which I responded to.
Cyprus is closed even though OpenTable will still take your reservation. A little sign on the door says they are closed for renovations, but locals say they closed mysteriously and suddenly only recently. If they ever reopen, the couple times we’ve been before it’s been enjoyable and the food has been interesting, probably the best place in Highlands. Which doesn’t say a lot, but it was very enjoyable nonetheless.
Restaurant was shut down for renovations and we could not find table anywhere else. I would think they would not accept reservation to begin with. Very disappointed by restaurant and Open Table!
This restaurant is no longer open for business. We didn’t find out until we showed up for dinner . Needs to come off open table as a dining option.
You need to know that we got there and they have closed permanently.
How ridiculous. We booked on Open Table, then travelled 900 miles, and found Cyprus closed.
Restaurant took our reservation and even confirmed but was not open.
The restaurant is closed. Do not make a reservation because open table is unaware of this and will even confirm your reservation prior to the time.
This restaurant is closed. It is no longer open.
Average at best. Not sure what happened since the last time we were there but it wasn’t that good this time at all. Service was nice but super slow. Food was underwhelming.
All in all, it was pretty good food. And they were certainly accommodating to kids. But at 7:15p they were out of two appetizers already and, quite honestly, the food was only decent. Not great. I don’t think you can or should do everything. I probably won’t go back.
Normally, great place. However, entire plate of food was barely warm and not hot. Returned to kitchen, came back same temp. Wait staff offered a hollow apology- no consideration for inconvenience and delay in serving meal.
Nicely re-purposed space. Comfortable and reasonably quiet. I will definitely return to try more if their eclectic menu. Both of our entrees were excellent (pork shoulder over risotto and shrimp over linguini). Service was professional but friendly. You simply must try the chocolate cake.
We had a great high top table near the cooking area. We enjoyed watching all the cooks doing their thing! Food was excellent!
We were greeted promptly by the hostess, and didn't have to wait for a table. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the entrees, the food was absolutely delicious!
Not a fan of the new menu:(
You dismissed some of your best dishes!
Best place in Highlands. Diverse menu, great service, food is always top notch
Excellent food .. was excited to see what new dishes was on the new menu
For what you are paying I would go to Madison’s. Better food for your money. I had the $38 Lamb served with potatoes, salad and 2 Large roasted tomatoes that were ice cold. They brought the tomatoes back out warm when my meal was finished... wouldn’t go back.
Great food, our waiter was a tad aloof. We were seated in the corner and the temp was a little cold. Overall, it was very enjoyable and the prices were not outrageous.
The steamed mussels were delicious. However, we had a 7:15 reservation and they were already out of everything pork, including the special. I had a Japanese selection of fish. Within 30 minutes of leaving the restaurant, I was sick. Pretty sure that it was from the Sheep Head fish.
We will not be going back.
Kristina and the crew were great! our meals were fabulous and they had a half price bottle special on their great wines! I highly recommend Cyprus!
Great flavors and service Awsome!
I was surprised at how many different regions of the world the menu at Cyprus covered. I was skeptical that they could do such an eclectic menu at a high level. Well, they nailed it! My wife and I had dishes from two different regions of the world (Japan and Italy) and they were both deliciously complex and flavorful. As if that wasn’t enough, this particular night they had 1/2 off all bottles of wine and a great wine list. I would highly recommend Cyprus Restaraunt!
I had eaten at Cyprus two years ago in July. We sat outside and had a fantastic lunch and enjoyed the view and fun atmosphere. This time was for dinner. Again, the food was excellent, as was the service. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. And just an added bonus: all bottles of wine were half price. A must try.
Great as always
Ecletic decor with uninspired service and average to good food.
First of all the food was outstanding! The ingredients were high quality, fresh and the portion sizes were well worth the money. My wife and I had the pleasure of sitting at the counter overlooking the open kitchen and the show was amazing. The chef was unbelievably calm and composed as the orders kept coming in. We were very impressed with how he was able to keep up with everything from such a diverse menu. The woman plating the food was equally impressive with her skills and attention to detail. The chef even took a few moments to visit with us while he was turning out some home-made pasta. We can't wait to return!
3 different entree’s and all were amazing!
The food was amazing but my noodles were undercooked.
We made arrangements to have New Year’s Eve dinner. We were called and informed it would be a fixed menu and fixed price meal. The price was $89 per person. The service was good. we have eaten there before and have enjoyed. Portions of the “pre-fixed” dinner were a disaster. If you made the wrong selection you were rewarded with tasteless, barely warm food.
For example they allowed my wife and I to pre taste different wines before our final selection. This was appreciated and the pour was generous. We did pay separately for the wine.
But back to the $89@ meal. What a mistake!
We have eaten at Cyprus going back several years to the original location. The food, service and ambiance remain good, but it has become overpriced. There are better dinner options at these prices.
New Year's Eve expensive prix fixe menu. Very expensive. Food was not hot and not good.
Server tried his best but restaurant was under staffed and he was overwhelmed. Out of several entrees and no bartender .
Great food in very special spot
Excellent service. Delicious food. Expected maybe a dish or two would be average knowing how wide ranging the menu is, but everything was spectacular. Great wine selection that included Smith Wooten (great bottle)!
First time for wife and me. Wedding anniv. celebration. Atmosphere is fun. Bench and chair a little rickety. Appetizers and entrees were fair to good; I had a curry which seemed very salty but tasty. Our server is the one who made it a special meal - attentive, pleasant, helpful in just the right amount.
Tried Cyprus while on vacation with my girlfriend. We were looking for something semi-romantic but also a little eclectic. Cyprus definitely delivers on being eclectic. The menu is divided by regions of the world which is definitely interesting. My girlfriend ordered a strawberry cosmo and a glass of red wine. The cosmo didn't seem properly shaken and the wine seemed to have been open for awhile. We ordered the eggplant app which wasn't bad but was sloppily thrown on the plate with an immense amount of sauce. For entrees, I ordered the Italian fresh fish and she ordered the steak frites. My fish was overcooked. The risotto was bland and mushy. It was just covered in sauce like a cafeteria lunch. She ordered the steak frites medium rare which came out around well done with one piece in the very center being medium well. The meat is sliced so it should have been an error immediately noticed by the kitchen. The entire steak was charred being belief; she almost couldn't eat it. The so called demi glace was more like a jelly than any demi I have ever seen. Also, the menu description is not accurate for what is plated and served. The server could see our disappointment and gave us a free dessert. We had the panna cotta which had a distinct nail polish remover after taste. Overall, I will never be back nor will I recommend anyone to eat here.
Slow to deliver food although waitress very good. Decor of restaurant a little lacking.
