Another great experience at Cygnus. All the staff is professional, Carmen was fantastic as always.
Amazing service and exciting food! Tad overpriced, but perfect for a fancy night out. Impressive all around!
Everything was beautiful and the staff was top notch. The food and drinks didn't impress for the price but the scenery and ambiance made up for it.
As always, top rank service and flawless food and drink.
The grilled octopus was phenomenal, tender and juicy with great flavor. Rack of lamb and paella very well done dishes with substantial portion sizes. For dessert we had the chocolate sphere, very decadent but the dark chocolate and candied pistachios balanced it out for a very well rounded treat. Overall a great experience, we will be going back for another special occasion!
Pleasant and enjoyable, as always. The food is unique, yet approachable, and always yummy and reasonably portioned. Plus: can't beat the skyline-view!
We had a great dinner on March 10th for my sisters birthday and then thought we would bring our son for his 33 birthday. I made the reservation on line and stated the special occasion- and that my sone was GF- and I was hoping for a great table by windows. There were open tables by windows all evening but we were seated more back??? The food was limited on the menu this time around and didnt have the GF beer that was listed on the beverage menu. The food was not good- Im sorry. Very different than March 10th. My husband and son said they would be fine if they never came back. We eat out lots around GR-- love all the new different places around town.
Had a great dinner. Service was top notch, waiter knew the menu well and make good suggestions. The "spanish" theme was a bit of surprise but meals were really good.
Nice view on a clear day.
Ordered 3 tapas, an entree, wine, and desert. The presentation was phenomenal all around but the octopus tapa was very bland. The iberico ham was very good but expensive, to be expected for the imported specialty. The duck confit empanadas had a good flavor but too much puff pastry for my taste, kind of a gummy texture because of this. The beef filet was very good. Wine was excellent. Server was great, ambiance great. On our server’s recommendation we got the lemon tart and chocolate sphere for deserts, the lemon tart is truly next level. I’d come back just for that tart. Up the tapa flavor and this would’ve been a perfect dining experience, will definitely be going back.
Every time we dine at Cyngus it has been wonderful. The food is so good. The service is always excellent! Love the staff!
Absolutely the best Sunday brunch in Grand Rapids with the traditional fare plus sushi and specialty dishes.
Everything was great, from the food to the view to the service.
I would recommend this restaurant because it’s just such a beautiful setting for dinner.
We had great time at Cygnus 27, the manager Parker gave us a great table with a beautiful view of the city. Our server was very knowledgeable and gave us great suggestions to try. Food was amazing, great place for a special occasion or a night downtown. The deserts were so good and had a great wine from Michigan.
Second time to Cygnus in the past four months - enjoy it very much. Unexpected surprise to find Happy Hour (1/2 off drinks) in the bar before seating...a nice little bonus. Waiter was fabulous. Very nice menu.
We will be back!!!
Our waiter was the best! Super friendly! Everything he suggested on the menu was fabulous! Amazing food and great atmosphere. Already told numerous people about this restaurant and our wonderful experience.
The view was stunning and the service was excellent!
awesome customer service. beautiful views. great selection for Sunday brunch
Food was delicious! Brandon, our server was super helpful and nice. First time here and my experience was great!
Just moved back to the area, wanted to take the wife to an elegant night out... absolutely hit the spot.. Service was above.... Food was so good I am coming back in a few weeks. The Pork Chop and Lamb were both mouth watering..
Excellent! Anna was great.
My wife and I had dinner at Cygnus 27 prior to seeing the Eagles concert on the evening of 3/15. Even though we were a little limited on time, it was one of the best overall dining experiences we have ever had: friendly prompt service, fantastic view complete with sunset, great cocktails and wine and delicious, creative cuisine. I would highly recommend it.
Absolutely wonderful! From the host, Ruth - to our server, Anna - to the GM, Parker...Service across the board was amazing and the food was over-the-top good!
We went to Cygnus Brunch, because my husband had never experienced your brunch and wanted to try it. We had a very relaxing and good time, thanks in part to the wonderful and attentive server (I am sorry that I did not catch her name-it may have been Kaitlin) and the great food. Of course, you can't beat the view! It is always fun for me to come up to Cygnus for a drink, brunch or dinner. Waitstaff is always friendly, which sets a great tone. I love seeing Mitch, Alex and Carmen.
Thanks to all for a wonderful experience!
I took my wife here for her birthday as a recommendation from friends. The most notable thing was the service for our server Carmen. She was extremely helpful with her suggestions of what to order right down to the lemon tart and wine that my wife had. Carmen was engaging in a very professional manner as was the manager, Porter.
We hope to be back for our anniversary this May and will ask for Carmen.
FABULOUS !! It only takes that one word but I will elaborate ! Our evening started with a fantastic view of the enchanting sunset and ended with a beautifully lit skyline. Our waiter, Brandon, was so much fun, easy going and playful. Of course that’s because we encouraged this from him. He was an excellent example of the great ambience of this restaurant ! We started with 3 appetizers ... Corn Crusted Calamari.... Spanish Octopus & Manchego Fritters. The octopus was a bit scary looking but surprisingly delicious as were the other two. Brandon graciously asked if he may request 4 Fritters instead of the 3 on the menu so that we all may enjoy our own.
Our entrees were Carrot Ravioli, Seared Diver Scallops & Filet of Beef Tenderloin. Of course we all nibbled from everyone’s plate! The Ravioli filling was wonderfully creamy. The scallops were exquisite!!! And the Filet was so unbelievably tender it enticed every tastebud in your mouth! We didn’t have time (or room) for dessert but instead were treated to delicious lemon cookies as our farewell and a beautiful packaged Birthday treat of tea & truffles was given to my SIL!
Sure.... I used a lot of fancy adjectives to describe our dining experience... but wait until you dine at CYGNUS 27!!! You will find a new love for adjectives too!!! This was our first visit and will definitely be repeated each & every time we come to the Theatre at DeVos in Grand Rapids!!
First dining experience. Anna was great waitress; eloquent in describing the menu choices. Food served timely; hot; delicious. The view is one of the best of GR river bridges. The noise level was excellent, even with a full restaurant and bar. We will return. We have numerous season tickets for GR events.
We had a wonderful dining experience! Food was delicious, wine was excellent and Carmen provided excellent service. The sunset was nice as well.
Super delicious food! Waitress was very knowledgable and helpful with getting us out the door on time to get to the show we were seeing.
It's always a special "date night" at Cygnus27! Great food, great presentation, and great service. Our server, Brandon, was on his game. Warning...It can be a little loud, and there isn't a dress code.
I will never get tired of saying how awesome Carmen is. She's very attentive and always a step of head of any questions that we may have to ask. She shows the true Spirit of hospitality.
Loved our server and loved the food! It was our anniversary and we enjoyed the ambiance.
Our server was amazing, the food was perfection, and the table we had provided a gorgeous view of the city. Loved every minute of this experience!
This restaurant lives up to the hype! Wonderful night out. Incredible views. Great service and food.
The food at Cygnus 27 was amazing. The staff was also very accommodating when I made the reservation for 2 people instead of 4. Our waitress was amazing as well.
This was our first time here and we were very pleased with everything. My wife had the pork chop and said it was the best she's had! Thank lamb was amazing as well. Everything was executed to perfection. Although this is not an everyday place for us, we will be back. Great atmosphere and view of the city.
I wanted to find a special restaurant to celebrate my wife’s birthday and Cygnus could not have been a better pick. From the service to the food to the ambience, everything was spot on. Kudos to the staff and chef.
Brunch at Cygnus 27 is amazing. The views are spectacular and the food is even better. Brunch includes a complimentary brunch beverage (Bloody Mary, mimosa, etc.) and a selection of breakfast items, pastries, desserts, a sushi station, omelet station, and crepe station. Another favorite feature is the rodizio cart, which includes grilled NY strip, beef tenderloin, chicken thigh, house made chorizo and diver scallops! Definitely a wonderful place for a special occasion or celebration.
Lit like bic
Had a 7 pm dinner to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The greeter took our coats and had a table ready for us. We passed through the bar / lounge area which was quite full and loud. The views are very nice from the 27th floor.
Once we got our server, the night was great. We were well attended but not overly pushed through dinner. The calamari appetizer is super good, almost ordered a second one. The salads were fresh and tasty.
We had the paella and the scallops as main dishes and both were deelish. These were the biggest scallops I’ve ever seen!
Overall, I think this is a great place for Grand Rapids and we will return for sure.
The man who appeared to be the manager was very nice also and made us feel at home.
Cygnus is a great location--nothing like it in Grand Rapids. The paella was very good. Service (Danny) was very good. Spiced apple dessert fantastic. Wine list reasonable and approachable.
That said, two critical observations. The bar scene sound washed over the dining area, making a romantic dinner into a little like camping too close to drunk neighbors in a state park. Some hanging sound baffles or something from the ceiling could only help. But for a restaurant that has prided itself for years as THE place for a significant dining event, this is unacceptable.
Also, and this is a criticism of the OpenTable reservation system and their use of it. I made my reservation 3 days prior to our Friday nite dinner. OpenTable only offered me 515, 530, or 830 and later. I called Cygnus reservation directly and got a recording directing me to OpenTable. Yet dining thru the 630-730-800pm prime time, at least half the tables were empty THE ENTIRE TIME! What gives, Cygnus? What gives, OpenTable? Is there a secret, alternate way to get seated that I was unaware of.
