My experience was excellent. I had the shrimp quesadillas and they were good. My top favorite was the key lime pie! OMG the best key lime pie at any restaurant.
Service was slow, no mimosas although it was still brunch time and food was ok for price.
Great restaurant. the employees were courteous and alert. They could not have ben nicer.
this is well executed Tex Mex with some interesting options, such as lobster tacos, brisket tacos, etc. Servie is prompt and solicitous, and the decor is a cut above many other Tex mex options.
We will be returning.
Service was lacking a bit. We had a party of 8. 2 of the eight were a little late, maybe 10 minutes. The other 6 already had cocktails. The 2 that arrived late were basically ignored for a good 10 minutes. It was as if the waiter didn’t notice they were there. Other than that the food and drink were awesome. This same party has been to this location many times. This is the first time the service was lacking. We will probably try a different location next time.
Chicken enchilada was not anything to talk about- and the skinny margarita appeared to be the color of a mix, so not really skinny
First time at the original location. Very different but great atmosphere than City Center it Village locations. Great food and service. Everyone in our group was happy.
Anaya's is always good. Good food and good service.
I booked this place for a intimate dinner for my friends wedding, the service was very poor and was what we expected. Food was great but the servers were very sneaky in adding to out order with appetizers that we though was complimentary. Overall will not be coming back to this location.
The food was quite excellent. The restaurant needs a drink menu with cocktails. Music was very loud.
We had a group of 7 that included someone who is almost 90. We went at 4PM on Sunday so it wouldn't be crowded or too loud. It was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! They seated us in a small room in the back with a round table in the middle. There were a few other tables in the room, but we had it to ourselves. We could hear each other were able to have a leisurely meal and visit. There was a TV in the room with the sound off and they even put it on the Texans game for us:) Our waitress helped make it a great experience too. She was detailed and attentive but not disruptive. Everyone reported their drinks and food were delicious. We noted a larger private room off the room we were in that would be perfect for a larger gathering. We were so pleased, we have discussed making this the permanent place for our gathering every couple of months. Thank you Cyclone Anaya's for making our visit so perfect.
We had a group of 9 for light business cocktails and dinner and it was very good
The appetizers and noise level were great. Several of us ordered the daily special and it was awful. I have had a lot of fried avocados, but the batter was mushy and the "crab" was a seafood dressing that was over cooked. I will try it again, because of my previous experience there, but if I get another bad meal I will write the restaurant off.
We've been to this location about a couple of dozen times in the past and it's usually pretty good. We went there on Labor Day and the service was TERRIBLE! I mean really bad: rude, rushed, forgetful, impertinent. . . the list goes on. Suffice to say we won't be going back again - sorry. There are too many choices for decent TexMex without the attitude in Houston for this place to survive.
Wonderful service and food. Thanks for an awesome birthday !
Met a friend at 7pm on Saturday night for dinner. We had a reservation even though the restaurant wasn't busy. We were seated immediately and ordered drinks. Waiter brought drinks, we asked for water as well, which was not brought. Ordered our food and asked for water again. Finally received water after second request. Waiter came and asked us if we wanted another drink, we asked for a refill on water. After sitting for 45 minutes, the waiter came over and asked us what we ordered. Before we could answer, he left the table, went to the kitchen, then to the computers and back to the kitchen. He returned to our table and again asked us what we ordered. At this point we asked if the order had been placed. He initially said yes, he was just checking with the kitchen, and then he admitted "no" that he lost the paper. We asked for the check for the drinks. I watched as the waiter went up to someone who I would guess to be the manager, but he never came to our table. We left and ended up having a fabulous dinner at Goode Company Kitchen and Cantina.
Great food and great drinks! Great service!
Visiting was a great experience complimentary valet . I did reservations but change my mind ended up back where I should of gone in the first place . I give a good rating due to being able to still come in not even wait , food was amazing had the lobster enchiladas.. drinks good. Good Mother Day present. A dinner out with the family.
For Sunday brunch, we had the Huevos con Chorizo and Chilaquiles, both had good flavor and were plenty filling. If you like green chili salsa, you’ll love the Chilaquiles. Others in our party enjoyed the Crab Cakes Florentine and the HUGH Crabmeat Omelet. Excellent attentive service - our water glasses never went empty.
They didn’t have our reservation in their records. Service was terrible.
This was our first visit to Cyclone Anaya's and it was a good experience. We were seated right away and had the requisite chips and hot cause delivered. The hot sauce was really good! The green sauce was pretty bland.
My wife loved the lobster tacos and my tamale plate was nicely done. Having a choice of black vs pinto refried beans was a pleasant surprise.
Service was adequate; the young man who waited on us seemed nervous and a bit unsure of himself. Perhaps he was new and I get it; you have to start somewhere.
So yes, Cyclone Anaya's was good and certainly on par with some of the other Mexican restaurants we frequent. It didn't distinguish itself dramatically from Molinas or Alicia's and being a good bit more expensive, we'll probably put it in the "been there, done that" category.
But I recommend it. You'll have a nice meal and a pleasant experience.
NYE Dinner was wonderful here!!
We called ahead to confirm our Christmas day reservation for our family. We got there and found the restaurant was closed. They had my phone number but never bothered to let me know they decided not to open.
I arrived at this restaurant with out of town guests and found it CLOSED. Not happy!
Absolutely awesome service and Fantastic food. We will be back!!!! Love great Tex-Mex.
Had to get our own tableware off and adjacent empty table, other than that it rates a C.
A/C not working well. The bathroom was the only place it seemed to work properly.
Great authentic Mexican at a reasonable price. wonderful ambiance and service.
Food and drinks were great, however everything else left much room for improvement. Service was absolutely terrible. Took 15 minutes for a waiter even come by to get drink orders or someone to bring chips and salsa. The waiter couldn't understand English very well I'm assuming because my sons Sweet tea order came out as coke, and my other sons sprite came out as water. We sat with empty water, tea, and soft drink glasses for long periods of time even after asking for refills, however he did just continue to bring mimosa refills every time that glass was empty even without asking if we needed or wanted another. Food did come out timely, hot, and was everything we expected it to be, along with desert. Then the check came. It's was a total cluster, there was stuff we didn't order on it, stuff we did order not on it, and I didn't even think to check before handing him my card which was my mistake. When it came back for me to sign, my wife realized it as she was looking at the bill. We told a waiter that walked by about the issue who said he would take care of it since we hadn't seen our waiter in quite some time. Then our waiter comes back 10 minutes later with it to talk to us about what is wrong with it and tries to tell us that the other stuff was on it to equal the price of the stuff he didn't have on it, again in very broken English which made me explaining and him understanding nearly impossible to the point that my wife broke in to speak Spanish to the man. I finally got to the point that I just said forget it, I don't even want to argue anymore, reflected it on his tip and walked out. Nedless to say this is my first and last trip to this location. I love their food and have had good service at their other locations and will just stick to those from now on. I wish I could remember our servers name to put on here.
We went their for Mother's Day Brunch. It was not very crowded, yet somehow, it was the WORST service ever!!! They took 25 minutes to take a drink order. Mimosas were brought in a water glass had to change them. Food order was taken one hour after we arrived and we had to beg people for a waiter the entire time we were there. We saw people walking around getting their own menus and searching for waiters. Thankfully, the food was awesome!
Staff was complete overwhelmed and confused. No silverware, not enough menus, empty tables while on a wait, obviously missing some waitstaff as the kitchen and busboys tried to help out. Poor planning by management.
The food was good, but over priced for the quality. What killed the experience was the level of service. It appeared like the kitchen staff was waiting tables??? Sitting with empty drinks and no food...
Service was poor; we asked for lemons for our water 3 times and never got them. It took several minutes after we were seated for anyone to come to the table. Food was mediocre. We chose this particular Mexican restaurant because of its great reviews on OT and were very disappointed in the quality of food and experience.
Very lively atmosphere. Great appetizers, we had the ceviche and it was delicious! Friendly staff and they were tentative to my food allergies. Creative and delicious menu all around.
Staff was friendly, courteous, and understanding of our large group. Drinks and apps were outstanding. Most enjoyed their entrée and others were too full to even dig in.
I have been to this restaurant many times. On this occasion, the food was not very good. The soup was overloaded with overly spicy croutons, and the soup itself was not seasoned. The salad was fresh and fine.
Only problem with this place is the parking is TERRIBLE!!! Never any spots unless you go at odd times. I think Cyclones should validate valet as you have no choice but to valet. Its technically "complimentary" but you have to tip realistically so its not really complimentary. I often pass up going to Cyclone's because I know the parking is terrible.
Very nice service and great food. Recommend it.
