We had our business meeting in the party room and they turned off the music there for us which was fantastic so we could socialize. With the music on, we couldn't hear one another. The service was fantastic! They kept checking on us and offering wonderful selections. It was great!
I’ve never felt so unwanted in my life. I have up my reservation for the next person behind me since my party was significantly smaller. We got a booth without menus and silverware. We didn’t get silverware at all. Our menus where given to us 10 mins after being seated and the table I gave up received all the attention. I know it’s a bigger tip for the person but I was very upset that we had our birthday dinner here. I wouldn’t reserve again.
Wonderful food, we had a good time for my son's birthday
Great! Service was wonderful!
Great service and as always, the food was wonderful. We had a group of 10 and everyone was well taken care of in an above average timely manner for lunch time and the party size.
Food was not as good as in the past. Cheese enchiladas used to be the best in town, now they changed the recipe, not so much.
We showed up for our reservation on Christmas Eve to a closed restaurant....I made reservation on open table and restaurant was closed...
Didn’t make my order right. Served me my drink in a glass that had lipstick on it. Server
Didn’t speak English
We had a weekend wonderful meal.
Girls date: Great service, great food & awesome drinks!
Amazing food & customer service!!
We went the day it flooded in Houston, 9/19/19. They were very understaffed. Manager seated us and told us it would be a while. Well, the service was amazing and the food was even better. Management and entire team did an amazing job. Thanks.
I brought my mom for the first time for her birthday. She enjoy the complimentary valet, food and drinks, also. Thank you for helping her having fun for her experience.
The food was great and waiter was attentive. Valet parking is great!
We couldn't have asked for a better group of waitstaff waiting on my fiance and I's family and friends. We are frequent visitors of Cyclone Anaya's, and we were so excited to celebrate our engagement with an intimate dinner there with our closest friends and our parents! Thanks for being a part of our journey. It was a fabulous dinner!
Ok food. Service was slow.
Table was small for a large group
Enjoyed the evening
My experience was excellent. I had the shrimp quesadillas and they were good. My top favorite was the key lime pie! OMG the best key lime pie at any restaurant.
Service was slow, no mimosas although it was still brunch time and food was ok for price.
Great restaurant. the employees were courteous and alert. They could not have ben nicer.
this is well executed Tex Mex with some interesting options, such as lobster tacos, brisket tacos, etc. Servie is prompt and solicitous, and the decor is a cut above many other Tex mex options.
We will be returning.
Service was lacking a bit. We had a party of 8. 2 of the eight were a little late, maybe 10 minutes. The other 6 already had cocktails. The 2 that arrived late were basically ignored for a good 10 minutes. It was as if the waiter didn’t notice they were there. Other than that the food and drink were awesome. This same party has been to this location many times. This is the first time the service was lacking. We will probably try a different location next time.
Chicken enchilada was not anything to talk about- and the skinny margarita appeared to be the color of a mix, so not really skinny
First time at the original location. Very different but great atmosphere than City Center it Village locations. Great food and service. Everyone in our group was happy.
Anaya's is always good. Good food and good service.
I booked this place for a intimate dinner for my friends wedding, the service was very poor and was what we expected. Food was great but the servers were very sneaky in adding to out order with appetizers that we though was complimentary. Overall will not be coming back to this location.
The food was quite excellent. The restaurant needs a drink menu with cocktails. Music was very loud.
We had a group of 7 that included someone who is almost 90. We went at 4PM on Sunday so it wouldn't be crowded or too loud. It was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! They seated us in a small room in the back with a round table in the middle. There were a few other tables in the room, but we had it to ourselves. We could hear each other were able to have a leisurely meal and visit. There was a TV in the room with the sound off and they even put it on the Texans game for us:) Our waitress helped make it a great experience too. She was detailed and attentive but not disruptive. Everyone reported their drinks and food were delicious. We noted a larger private room off the room we were in that would be perfect for a larger gathering. We were so pleased, we have discussed making this the permanent place for our gathering every couple of months. Thank you Cyclone Anaya's for making our visit so perfect.
We had a group of 9 for light business cocktails and dinner and it was very good
The appetizers and noise level were great. Several of us ordered the daily special and it was awful. I have had a lot of fried avocados, but the batter was mushy and the "crab" was a seafood dressing that was over cooked. I will try it again, because of my previous experience there, but if I get another bad meal I will write the restaurant off.
We've been to this location about a couple of dozen times in the past and it's usually pretty good. We went there on Labor Day and the service was TERRIBLE! I mean really bad: rude, rushed, forgetful, impertinent. . . the list goes on. Suffice to say we won't be going back again - sorry. There are too many choices for decent TexMex without the attitude in Houston for this place to survive.
Wonderful service and food. Thanks for an awesome birthday !
Met a friend at 7pm on Saturday night for dinner. We had a reservation even though the restaurant wasn't busy. We were seated immediately and ordered drinks. Waiter brought drinks, we asked for water as well, which was not brought. Ordered our food and asked for water again. Finally received water after second request. Waiter came and asked us if we wanted another drink, we asked for a refill on water. After sitting for 45 minutes, the waiter came over and asked us what we ordered. Before we could answer, he left the table, went to the kitchen, then to the computers and back to the kitchen. He returned to our table and again asked us what we ordered. At this point we asked if the order had been placed. He initially said yes, he was just checking with the kitchen, and then he admitted "no" that he lost the paper. We asked for the check for the drinks. I watched as the waiter went up to someone who I would guess to be the manager, but he never came to our table. We left and ended up having a fabulous dinner at Goode Company Kitchen and Cantina.
Great food and great drinks! Great service!
Visiting was a great experience complimentary valet . I did reservations but change my mind ended up back where I should of gone in the first place . I give a good rating due to being able to still come in not even wait , food was amazing had the lobster enchiladas.. drinks good. Good Mother Day present. A dinner out with the family.
For Sunday brunch, we had the Huevos con Chorizo and Chilaquiles, both had good flavor and were plenty filling. If you like green chili salsa, you’ll love the Chilaquiles. Others in our party enjoyed the Crab Cakes Florentine and the HUGH Crabmeat Omelet. Excellent attentive service - our water glasses never went empty.
They didn’t have our reservation in their records. Service was terrible.
This was our first visit to Cyclone Anaya's and it was a good experience. We were seated right away and had the requisite chips and hot cause delivered. The hot sauce was really good! The green sauce was pretty bland.
My wife loved the lobster tacos and my tamale plate was nicely done. Having a choice of black vs pinto refried beans was a pleasant surprise.
Service was adequate; the young man who waited on us seemed nervous and a bit unsure of himself. Perhaps he was new and I get it; you have to start somewhere.
So yes, Cyclone Anaya's was good and certainly on par with some of the other Mexican restaurants we frequent. It didn't distinguish itself dramatically from Molinas or Alicia's and being a good bit more expensive, we'll probably put it in the "been there, done that" category.
But I recommend it. You'll have a nice meal and a pleasant experience.
