Our family visited on a Saturday at 4:30PM for an early dinner. Our party had 7 people, including 2 small children. Unfortunately, I can't say anything positive about our experience. It seemed like everything was in "slow motion." We waited forever for everything. Drinks and food arrived an extremely long time after we ordered. My pre-dinner drink and my daughter's dinner selection arrived after the rest of our family had finished their dinners. Some of the dinner selections arrived cold and the food was mediocre. Also, whenever we asked our server for something ( a high chair for my grandson, small plates for our appetizers, etc.) we had to repeat the requests several times after since we didn't get what we asked for. We've eaten at other restaurants at Mosaic District and have always been extremely pleased with their high quality in every area. Cyclone Anaya's was a huge disappointment.
No beer on tap? Disappointing.
Couldn’t split checks for 8 people—in any way. Hadn’t run into that before. We had to put everything on one card. Worked out but I definitely can’t recommend this place for groups.
Food was fine. Bit pricey for what you get but it was filling at least.
Don’t expect anything amazing from this place. It did the job for dinner but out of the restaurants in Mosaic, I wouldn’t come back here. Only reason we came was for the margs. If you need margs, they have em. And that’s about it.
I had lunch with a couple of friend in September 2019 - all three of us liked it a lot. We ordered lunch-size salads. Both were a good size (larger would have been too much), and the ingredients were very fresh. The third guest ordered an enchilada which she said was very good. The staff were very friendly and available (there were very few guests at the time so I cannot say if that is still the case when the place is full). And, last but not least: the music was at a level that was just right; just for the ambiance but not too much to not be able to have a conversation. This is a big improvement from the last time I went there with my husband and we had to ask the manager to turn down the music twice (it felt like we were in a disco).
Our service was pretty terrible. Our waitress was sweet and got our orders correct but it took a very long time to receive our drinks, have our order taken, and ultimately receive our food. The explanation for the delay was that the kitchen was backed up, but it didn’t seem busy at all. It took over an hour to receive our food and by the time we received it we were full from chips and salsa. We had to get up and flag down a waiter to ask for our check. Food was fine but utter lack of attention to service makes us not want to come back.
The food was gross. The waiter spent the whole time watching tv and I would never go there again. We got sick later that night. Avoid this place
We had excellent service, but the food wasn't terrific and the margarita I had was really bad. It was empty, which might have been a clue, but my friend and I both enjoy tex-mex, so we thought we'd try it. We won't be back.
Waiter barely checked in and had to be flagged down for everything. We were on a lower level and the waiter passed our drinks over the railing so my friends had to pass them out instead of coming down a few steps to bring them to us.
Extremely poor service. We were seated and waited 20 minutes for service. No refills on drinks, entire outdoor wait staff seemed disorganized, uninterested, and unengaged. Really, really poor service. Having lived in Texas, this is the WORST Anaya’s I have ever been to. You guys need to pick it up.
Restaurant was only 1/3 full on a Saturday evening around 7:00 pm. Service was very slow. Margaritas were too sugary and had very little tequila. Food was average for Mexican, but Uncle Julio's is much better.
We made an reservation but when we arrived, on time, there wasn't a table for us. They offered to seat us outside on a day it felt like it was over 100 degrees. When we refused they sat us in a closed off portion of the restaurant where an employee or family member was hanging out. They took forever to bring our drinks and food and overall it was just a terrible experience. Our group will definitely not be returning.
Our server, Thando was good and very attentive. Food was good, menus were dirty when we sat down. Host (male) was not very welcoming when we walked in. He wasn’t rude or anything, He needs to smile and make everyone happy that they walk into your restaurant.
The food wasn’t all that great and overpriced.
I ordered the flautas which are supposed to be crispy but they drenched them in melted cheese and salsa so they ended up being soggy. I only ate one and ate it with the crispy tortilla chips.
The food was fine. The service was terrible. They appeared under staffed and the wait for everything was very long. In addition to that none of the three bathroom stalls had toilet paper, one toilet was leaking a puddle on the floor and one door lock was inoperable. Pretty gross.
We had a great meal. Service was good, food was excellent. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. The salsa was a great start! We will be back!
I had not been to Cyclone Anaya's for a couple of years and was disappointed that service was not good. We arrived early for our reservation and the restaurant looked fairly empty but we had to wait at the bar for over 30 minutes. When we were finally seated and looked around, the place was practically empty but it took forever to get waited on. The food was great but I guess the staff needs help. I feel bad for restaurants now-a-days as it seems it's hard to find people willing to work hard and they have a rude public to deal with. Hope things get better for this restaurant.
So many things went wrong with our party of 12. We waited over an hour to get our food (two kids fell asleep waiting), our server actively avoided us, the dishes were universally lukewarm on arrival, and almost every order had something wrong with it (missing sides, wrong sides, missing elements). The worst part, however, is that the manager and server only gave a half hearted apology and didn't offer to do anything to make things right. Only after refusing to pay the bill until we spoke with the manager did he finally comp a couple of items, and still no explanation for why things were so bad. The drinks were good, but that's not enough to warrant a return trip. We will not be back.
I just got a notification from Open Table that I never checked in but I was there with my party of 4 at 6:30 pm. This completely reflects the poor service we received. They sat us down in the back next to the kitchen and took our drink order. But then there were no place settings or silverware for some time, even though other tables had these basic items. We got drinks and the complimentary chips and salsa and my husband finally had to ask for the place settings, utensils and napkins. We ordered one dish that never came. At the end of the meal we were sitting for 20 minutes without anyone checking on us. I had to get up to get the waitress so we could get the bill.
The food was excellent but the service left something to be desired. The waitress just kept disappearing. When she did show she was practical and did what she was there to do but...
It was awful. Overpriced food. Service was awful. Will never go again.
My first visit to Cyclone Anaya's. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, I dined on the outdoor patio. The food was good, and my server was very attentive. I will definitely return.
Underwhelmed - restaurant appears ragged around the edges - literally and figuratively. Our seats were frayed with peeling “pleather” and our food was dry and over cooked. Not up to even chain standards - and there were scads of choices at the Mosaic. Won’t be going back.
Brunch food was good, not great. The place is pleasant inside, and the servers are very nice. Next time I'll try the lunch or dinner menu. I'd go back again.
Tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, etc. Margaritas.
Our waiter was amazing! Food was good. It started getting very loud with the brunch crowd. However, our get together was great!
Our waitress was delightful. Ambiance perfect for the occasion. Happy the restaurant is here
Love this place! Really love Happy Hour. The food is delish!
Bad service, bad food. Overall, we will not going to this restaurant anymore.
Food was tasty, but a little over priced. There was very little alcohol in my margarita. Very noisy and was seated in a dark corner. Server was efficient and accurate with orders. Everyone’s dishes were brought out at the same time. The bathrooms were disgusting. Overflowing trash, no toilet paper. I could make the dishes I was served at home and for a fraction of the price. Was not satisfied and likely would not return or recommend.
Nice place, good food!
I love coming to this restaurant. Everyone that works there is very friendly and very accommodating. The menu has a great variety so there’s always something tasty and different to eat. Super convenient location and ample parking in the garage
A Friday night dinner with six friends. Food was excellent. I had Chile rellenos with chicken and refried black beans. The Poblano had a nice texture—was not cooked to mush. Plenty of cheese, but not drowning in it. Nicely seasoned—I did not need hot sauce. Top notch Margarita with Cointreau. Service was attentive—no complaints. All in all,it was just what I was looking for tonight.
First time at this restaurant for both diners. Service VERY slow. Maybe it was Monday, and not much business, but the staff did not seem anxious to please. Server did not understand order, did not write down order, therefore half the order was MISSING. Unsure if the bartender was green, or the server didn't understand, but had to return to the table 3 times to ask more info about the drink order!!! Food was OK, but not worth returning to suffer the poor service a second time. Not a great experience.
I love the food and service at this place but everything else needs lots of work. I was trying to get in with the stroller, was literally banging on the door and the greeting person was too busy standing witg her back to the door to notice me. I had to use revolving door and thank god I wasn’t stuck. The table we were sitting at had something we found out latet on our bottoms - my friend had chewing gum on her skirt and I had something too (mine came off, hers not) and she wasn’t offered dry cleaning. Toilets - only one was working. I will come again but I will not invite my friends there again, this is very embarrassing situation. It was my 3rd time at this place. It is never busy, probably because of what I stated above and it’s a shame
We had a great time. Luckily we reserved a table and didn't have to wait for long. The food was good. Our waiter was a bit bored and let us feel he wanted more orders etc. Not enough money from us. We ignored his behavior. Anyways, it was a pleasant evening. Sometimes the music was super loud and hard to chat with each other. Great spot to meat friends and catch up.
The food came out very slow and the food was extremely salty.
Very loud. Service was very slow. Portions were small for the price. Food gave me indigestion.
The drinks were better than the food. It was an average first experience.
This place just gets worse and worse. The salad tasted and looked like it came from a bag, the chicken was dry, the fajitas were over cooked, the salsa is watery, the got two of our four orders completely wrong, the rice was rubbery, the beans were like pasta and the tortillas were stale. The service was so bad... the guy delivering chips actually did a “no look” drop and spilled them. This place is horrible and we will not be back!
