Had lunch Nice window seat looking out to the sound. The crab with sour cream mashed potatoes were delicious.
The food was very underwhelming....the menu items sounded amazing on paper, but when we actually got the food, it was overcooked and cold. The best thing on the restaurant week menu was definitely the appetizer--the clam chowder was excellent. The creme brulee had WAY too much sugar on top. We had to take it all off. The service was very very slow... it took them 10 minutes just to give us water when we sat down. Won't be back any time soon.
We were greeted by two hosts, who were very informally joking (to include a girl one is "seeing"), then as we were seated, the host acted like it was an inconvenience to show us to our seat. We immediately noticed how dirty the cloth on the seats were, presumptively from cocktail sauce. We then asked if we could be moved to a table with a waterfront view, then we met with the "that section is usually reserved for those with reservations", so of course we informed the gentleman that we did, in fact, have reservations.
As we moved to the further section of the dining area, we made the quick realization that the hosts seated the more formally dressed parties (older white couples in jackets and nicer clothing) where the better, and cleaner I might add, tables were.
We immediately ordered appetizers. I ordered four traditional oysters, and my date ordered the clam chowder without the bacon. About eight minutes pass and we receive the appetizers, the oysters as described, and clam chowder with bacon. My date politely brought up that she thinks the chowder has bacon in it. The server insisted it was prepared without the pork, but with visual confirmation, she was proved wrong.
We ordered our entrees, the sea scallops for me, and a half pound of king crab legs for my date. About twenty minutes elapses before we get the food. The crab legs are cold, and the scallops are barely darkened. We were over it, we kept quiet and ate. The overall taste of the scallops were exceptional, minus the temperature. The mayonnaise creamy sauce was interesting with the vegetables and braised pork belly, which was also a little under room temperature.
Overall, the food was decent, and reasonably priced. The wait staff seemed unexperienced due to my water glass becoming empty three times, and my counterpart's twice. The window overlooking the Puget Sound was filthy, with a blocked view. We simply felt dismissed and discriminated due to our casual appearance; will not return.
The food, service, as well as the view were all amazing.
Cutters is a great place in Seattle to get fresh seafood. We had a window table and even on a rainy day we were able to take in the views and watch the ferries.
We went to Cutters for our anniversary. We received great food and service.
Sever seemed to leave table area after one question being answered. Had to recall server several time to place drink orders (one person would order and the server would walk away). Brought bill after asking for desert menu. Sever seemed to be distracted and was not impressed.
Oh ya, food was great.
I got the filet oscar. The temperature was spot on, but the dish had no flavor to it.
The food was superbly cooked and presented. The view was breathtaking.
Ben was a great waiter... food was uh-mazing!
Couldn’t have asked for more pleasant and perfect service—from the host to the wait staff. Would definitely return and highly recommend to anyone visiting Seattle! The mussels are truly to die for!
The experience at cutters couldn't have been any better. The staff made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond throughout our entire stay.
We were seated right on time. Our waiter was spot on and the food was served hot and delicious.
Horrible food. A restaurant with such a prime location should hire a top end chef.
Layover to China
Michael was our waitperson, very professional/friendly.
Food was very good for SRW.
View/space very nice.
All staff very good!
Will definitely return.
The standout was the attentive service by Ben our server. That and the drinks were excellent the view was great and the oysters fresh.
But what came off the stove lacked quality and inspiration. I hate to write it off as a 'tourist restaurant' but that's kind of the deal. There are far better meals right nearby.
Service was fine and the atmosphere was nice, but the food was nothing special.
I had the Crab Alfredo. It was very good! Simply perfect!
One of my favorite restaurant. This was my second time coming to dinner for my birthday.
The Easter menu was very limited and very expensive.
Easter Brunch... Food was good, view was great, wait staff was great! Price wasn't bad!
Food was pretty poor - very bland. Felt sick for a day afterward
Setting is great.
Cutters Crabhouse is my favorite Seattle restaurant. I have been going with family and friends since 2010. I have never been disappointed in the food or the service. The employees are cheerful, helpful and attentive. The food is outstanding. I will remain a customer as long as I live in the Seattle area.
We were disappointed in our overall experience - it wasn't horrible, but just "ok" and for a tab of $250 for 4, that's disappointing. We had a 7pm reservation but weren't seated until close to 7:20. Not a big deal. Service was very good and our waitress was friendly and efficient. But the food mostly fell short. My "shrimp stuffed with crabmeat" was served with only FOUR very small shrimp and the filling was primarly breadcrumbs, I honestly couldn't see or taste much crab. I had to scrape it off the shell as it was presented butterflied with the shell still on. My husband ordered a tuna roll and it was OK. The lobster/shrimp mac & cheese was enjoyed but the best meal of the night was the grilled steak - go figure for a seafood place. They did bring my daughter a lovely creme brulee to celebrate her birthday which was a nice touch. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place when there are so many great seafood restaurants in Seattle. It's a shame because the view is dynamite.
We went twice in the span of 3 days. The first was for a birthday and they made every effort to make the experience a great one! The only complaint is that there are some spaces where the floor manager and servers do a lot of talking, sometimes shouting over a table to speak with each other that can be detracting. The best seats are the windows overlooking the bay.
Nice place, nice location, nice people. But sorry, I just wasn't a fan of the food.
My daughter picked this place for dinner during our recent trip to Seattle. Every dish we ordered was fresh, delicious and perfectly cooked. Our server, Michaela, was very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely visit again.
We weren’t treated as if it was a special occasion. Last time we went for our wedding anniversary we were spoiled.
The food was as amazing as usual.
Great food and excellent service. Nice selection of local seafood very well prepared.
We had a great table facing the peninsula. Our waiter was fun and knew his menu well.
His recommendations were excelente
Service was excellent! The Dungeness crab cocktail was outstanding, we would definitely return. Want to try the poke and sushi!
A bit overpriced for our taste. Dining room was very dark. Food was very Good overall except the crab legs were full of water with covered the plate and ruined the risotto. For $65 I expect better. Many better options in Seattle including Etta's right across the street.
Service is slow. Our food died at the pass
Cutters has always been on my list of Top 10 Seattle restaurants. But this time I was disappointed with diner. The food - salad, rolls, pasta entree with crab - was all mediocre. I will certainly give Cutters another try, but did not thoroughly enjoy my meal. The waiter, however, was outstanding.
Hank was wonderful. Food was delicious. View impeccable.
Lovely celebration in the city.
I am probably not the right person to review this venue. I am not a seafood person, so the menu is limited for me. For a starter, we shared a crab cake. It was perfect...fully cooked , while staying moist, w/a pleasant flavor.
After that, I decided to eat a lighter fare, so I ordered the soup of the day and a side salad. The chicken and rice soup, was more like a bowl of rice topped with some chicken soup. I think the excess rice was meant to cover for the excess salt. Turning to the salad for the remainder of my meal, the ingredients were fresh, although I would have liked more than what appeared to be 1 strawberry, cut up.
Service great. Food on the bland side.
