Cutters Crabhouse Ratings and Reviews
The food was very tasty and nicely prepared. The steak Oscar was particularly good and the Caesar salad, which included kale, was really delicious. The halibut fish and chips were tasty and there were three pieces of battered fish but I think for $24, a few more of the garlic and parmesan fries might have been warranted (they were really tasty!) The setting overlooking the water, watching the ferry boat coming and going, and with a straight-on view of the Ferris wheel was truly spectacular. Our waitperson was also very enthusiastic and helpful and offered great service. I would recommend Cutters, especially to visitors to Seattle.
I've been going here for years but something has changed. Got there early, still got seated late even though it was practically empty. Confirmed our anniversary on entry but that was the last of that. Were actually out of snow crab, wasn't delivered!? Chairs were disgustingly filthy, food sat up and ready for several minutes without being served and frankly the cleanliness, service and food were not on par with all the years of history I have had with them and definitely not worth the money. So dissappointed, this used to be my go to place and typically busting at the seams. Word must be out because the place was virtually empty. So sad.
I booked a reservation for 5:30. We showed up 15 minutes early for happy hour and they said “maybe you can get in” and we waited at the front of the restaurant. 15 minutes later they sat us. I was expecting the restaurant to be busy. It was not. They sat us in the worst possible spot in the restaurant. There was multiple booths and window views available, but they sat us in the back/middle (no view). I thought to myself “maybe these tables were reserved”, nope they were empty the entire time. Service and food was good, but being treated sub-par made me not want to eat there. I will not be recommending this place to any friends nor going there again. P.S. when you tell every couple about happy hour in the bar, make sure you tell every couple.
Was here for my birthday and the food was AMAZING!! Our waitress was extremely nice and helpful. The service was great and the food was to die for. I have been here multiple times and it never disappoints. Though the food is more on the pricey side, the portion sizes are still very good. I love this restaurant.
We had a wonderful time at Cutter’s! I brought my family here for my mom’s birthday and we were all so impressed with the food, service, and excellent view. The service, in particular, was stellar. My mom and I have Celiac’s, which makes eating out a challenge sometimes. However, the chef made my mom a gluten-free version of the dish she wanted, even though a gluten free version had not been offered on the menu. They also brought out a free dessert for my mom’s birthday. Our waiter was very friendly, accommodating, and attentive. And the food was delicious. I highly recommend Cutter’s for any occasion!
Our meals were delicious and the service was both professional and fun. We had an outstanding waiter who was not only friendly, but made the effort to ensure his customers were totally satisfied with their orders. The Prime Rib and Seafood Mac & Cheese were excellent.
We waited over an hour for our entrees after a skimpy salad. The entrees were not very attractive. Mine was cold while my friend's was hot. The waiter was not on top of the situation. The entree was scallops with fingerling potatoes for me and it was really boring. My friend had scallops with risotto and the risotto was under-cooked. I would not go there again.
Chris from Alabama was a complete delight on Christmas Day! I am so glad we chose Cutter’s for our first Seattle dining experience. We weren’t disappointed. The Clam Chowder was the best I’ve had in my life (add the Dungeness Crab!!). The Crab dip was addictive and the Snow Crab was so sweet and deliciously salty it didn’t even need butter. This place is a must when in Seattle!
One of the worst dining experiences ever. Made a 4:15 reservation for Christmas Day. We hadn’t been to Cutters for many years but had still heard good things about the restaurant. December 23 I got a voicemail message asking me to confirm our 4:15 reservation for 4 people. I confirmed the same day. About 3:20 on Christmas Day, as we were getting ready to leave for the restaurant, I got a notification about my upcoming 6:15 reservation at Cutters. 6:15? I called the restaurant immediately & they said my reservation was for 6:15. I told them I had a voicemail FROM cutters stating 4:15 but they wouldn’t budge. since I didn’t have a prime rib to cook at home - we were kind of “stuck” with a 6:15 reservation. When we arrived I again stated my disappointment about the change in time. I even showed them my open table reservation & the voicemail from their employee. They said they were sorry& there must be a glitch in their system. We were seat fairly quickly but told the kitchen was a little backed up. Our waiter took drink orders and our dinner order in a timely manner and was very good, but we could tell the place was in utter chaos. The table next to us told the waiter that their entire meal was cold & they had waited for an hour and a half. My daughter and I split the $56 prime rib and crab legs. My other daughter ordered prime rib. We both wanted it “barely Pink” but not well done. And NOT bloody. After waiting about 45 more minutes (after drinks, bread and salad) our meal came. crab was cold. Both prime ribs were blood red. We sent our meals back, but knew the quality would be poor with re-cooking it. And a $56 meal should NEVER have to be sent back to the kitchen. I asked our waiter what was going on & he said mgmt had completely overbooked the restaurant & they knew early they were not going to keep up. Really felt bad for him! I now believe that Cutters intentionally changed our reservation. Very bad experience for such a special day!
We've eaten at Cutter's several times (including previous Christmas dinners) and the experience has always been enjoyable. However, their Christmas dinner service this year was terrible. The limited menu selection was expected, so I have no issues with that, but there was a complete breakdown in the kitchen. It took forever to get food, and when the food arrived it was sub par. On top of that the Service Staff were not honest with us about the delay, and seemed to be avoiding customers rather than dealing with the problem head on. With a limited menu and reservations required I don't understand how the kitchen could've been so backed up. Sadly Cutter's is now off our list until they can publicly acknowledge the problems they faced and detail how it won't be a problem in the future.
It was honestly one of the worst dining experiences of my life. I understand it was Christmas and they were under staffed but no excuse for the experience we had. Our server was extremely unengaged and absent from the table for long periods. Three separate occasions forgot to ring in items and didn’t even apologize. After an hour we received our cold appetizer. An hour after that we received it cold dinner. Complete disappointment, never thought I would regret choosing Cutters for Xmas but I sure do now.
I came here on Christmas Day and absolutely loved our server, Hank. He was extremely friendly, funny, and attentive. The food was delicious as well. There was a shortened version of their regular menu, as it was Christmas and I’m sure that’s easier. Luckily they still had the crab stuffed prawns on it! We also had the steamed clams which were good. They were able to split a starter salad at no charge. Even though we weren’t sitting by the window, we still had a great view of the water. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and we will be back!
Dinner on a Saturday night. The Hamachi Poke was a great starter. Then came the problem. Took them 45 minutes to get our entrees to us. I had a combination Louie with crab, salmon, and prawns, my partner had the Steelhead Trout with balsamic glazed Brussel sprouts, super fresh and well executed. Would have been the perfect dinner except for the long wait.
Was a bit disappointed in the food. Had crab stuffed prawns with risotto. The worst risotto I've had in any restaurant, ever. It seemed to be just regular white rice overcooked with some vegetables. The shrimp was a bit dry and seemed overcooked. Overall, while the location and views were great, the quality of the food wasn't what I expected. Not sure I'd return.
