   Great wine list, but disappointed by the new menu. Steak and mahi were mediocre at best. They need to go back to the other steak and and their delicious steak carpaccio. We love this place but probably won’t be back until the menu changes.

   Everything was wonderful. My duck was excellent It had a nice crisp on the outside and medium on the inside. My wife’s monk fish was beautifully prepared. A totally great experience.

    Food was amazing and service was excellent. We went Saturday night and it was bustling. We had a 2 top and it was hard to have a fluid conversation with the noise. We would definitely go back on a non-peak evening.

    My husband and I had the most fabulous meal at Customshop last night. It has been a bit since we'd last been and we will definitely be back sooner than later. The server was amazing too! Very attentive and made sure we were always enjoying something to eat or drink. Thanks for everything!

    Customshop is an incredible restaurant! I live in Charleston, South Carolina where the food is fantastic! I wish Customshop was located in Charleston. You will not be disappointed. Well done Customshop!

    Limited menu, service was slow, waitress was not present throughout the meal, however became present and personable when bill arrived. While we didn't know the backstory, it was strange.

    I love the food at Customshop. The service is always fantastic. The interior space is beautiful. Why ruin it with techno music so loud I can’t hear the people with whom I’m dining? The only reason I knocked off two stars is because of this: if I wanted to dance, I’d go to dance club. It’s a restaurant, not a rave in 1998.

    December 2 time here. We bought other friends of ours because we had a good experience the first time. After the second experience, most likely we will not come back. Poor service. One of our friends had to wait 45 minutes just for a drink from the bar. The selections on the menu or very limited. What

    Erica was great, as was the food. While there are a lot of restaurants in Charlotte, we’ve struggled with finding restaurants that are actually good. Customshop had excellent choices, including the porkbelly, ribeye, and crocquettes- all of which were prepared wonderfully. The wine list was also curated with the dishes in mind, making pairing a glass of wine really easy. I’m happy we’ve finally found a restaurant in Charlotte that has both great service and delicious food!

    I hadnt been in a very long time and was quickly reminded why I had enjoyed it. The hostess was lovely, my sever Kelly was very helpful and friendly. My food: potato and ham Croquetas, pork belly was so good! My main plate was the crab ravioli, was the best part! Paired well w the pinot noir on the menu. Parking is free across the street which is great. All in all, I would love to go back and try the scallops.

    I really liked this restaurant and would return. The variety of food was great. Roasted vegetables, rutabaga purée, bread, freshness of the salad/home made dressing, The Drinks were ok - less craftiness to them, recipe seemed slightly off. The service was not as good as pre pandemic but Zoe rocked with all she had to do during this endemic.

    Every time I’ve been to Custom Shop this seems to happen. Almost perfect food with one horrible monstrosity. Ordered duck & dumplings. Got some watery brown disaster with (obviously) leftover smatterings of what I assume was duck but might as well have been chicken for the lack of flavor the meat had. Contained more lima beans than spaetzle, which made the dish feel and look like an afterthought, not a $30 entree. At the very least was mis-titled. “Duck and Dumplings“ with hardly any duck or dumplings, should’ve been called “Lima Bean Medley”. All the other food was fabulous. Although, it’s really hard to get duck breast or ribeye wrong. And don’t get me started on our server, sweaty Mr. Sniffy, who seemed lost ‘in the weeds’ but with no apparent reason to be. (Maybe he had more than the 3 tables we saw him working?) He seemed mad-proud of himself as if he were the world’s best server, and was absolutely put-out by the fact that we deigned to eat there and disturb his time. I’m just glad we weren’t in a hurry. We tipped well, but only because we had and still have connections to the always challenging world of the service industry. And…everyone has an ‘off’ night. With Charlotte’s restaurant scene exploding like it has, doubtful we’ll be back. When we do manage to get out of the house for a wonderful meal, we’d prefer it if everyone’s food was edible, and the service had no attitude. Custom Shop won’t suffer for the lack of us though. Thankfully for them and other old places like them, none of these newcomers to Charlotte cook, and most are used to northern manners, so the snotty service will be like home.
