    Lucky to get in to this restaurant on a Saturday evening with a game in town. Went we got there at 8:30 p.m. the place was full and energy with high, lots of noise and people enjoying the vibe. Our server was fantastic, knew his product very well and was very attentive but not intrusive. We enjoyed everything we had except for one item and without prompting when our server noticed we did not eat much of it he offered to change to something else. It was not necessary as we did order the item without knowing exactly what to expect but he wanted us to have a great experience. Many thanks to him, you can tell he loves his job and proud of the Customshop (sorry I can't remember his name, he was also a bartender doubling).

    Service and ambience was great. Bartender made a delish old fashioned. But food was not great. Good, not great. Example - fresh dill sprinkled on top of a chorizo bolognese sauce. Two flavors together were ‘off’. Dessert menu only had 3 items, and one had marshmallow. Decent experience but not rushing back.

    First time in Charlotte and based on reviews I decided to try this place for a date night. I really had no idea what to expect, but it turned out to be an interesting night. The ambiance was nice and the staff was attentive as well. The food was “okay” but they did have unique dishes. The sizes of the plates were overall small for the price and so were the drinks. The experience was worth it but not sure if I’d visit again. It was super loud inside on Saturday evening, but once a particular party left it did quiet down quite a bit making it more enjoyable. I may give them another shot when I’m back in NC.

    This was our first time dining here for a birthday. Although the food was good, the portions are very small. They were short staffed & our waiter was a bit sarcastic & not too attentive. Why do they ask if you’re celebrating a special occasion; we shared a dessert & they didn’t even put a candle in it. We weren’t even offered coffee….

    Disappointing for sure. Caution for anyone sensitive to spicy food! There’s no warning on spice levels and wasn’t even asked about allergies or taste profiles by our waiter. Even with the hot spice, the flavor of my pasta was rather bland. Burrata was good though, and the tartare was just average. Def not worth a trip back and recommend checking out other spots in Charlotte.

    My husband and I enjoyed the meal at Custom Shop. Our waitress was very responsive and she made a fantastic Old Fashioned. It was noisy because one particular person at a nearby table likes the sound of his voice...a lot. Tables for 2 are really close to one another, to the point that it's hard not to hear what your neighbors are talking about. Food was excellent.

    Incredible restaurant with great food! This was our second time here. We tried it last year and loved it, so we had to come back on this trip. Every item we ordered was fresh and flavorful. I am looking forward to coming back on my next trip to Charlotte.

    Service and food was very good. We enjoyed it. I knocked them to a 4 on ambiance because the 2 person seating along the wall is a little close. I knock them to a 4 on value because they were a bit cheap on the entree serving size. My serving of Mahi was maybe 4 ounces for $36. Everything was delicious though. I would get the buratta every time. Flan was best I've had. Creamy and not rubbery. They made my Old Fashion with top shelf bourbon of my choice for $14. Menu is small, which I guess helps the kitchen focus on fewer things and making them more perfect, but for me, makes me return less frequent and i like to try new things and wait for menu options to change. They dont have specials. Aside from my not picks, i still go 5 based on the quality and good service.

    Incredible meal to celebrate a birthday! Great vibe of restaurant, staff, bar, and while eating. Bijah our server aka my "food consigliere" as I named him during our meal was great in understanding our preferences and suggesting the dishes and why as well as wine with with our meal. Enjoyed seeing diners on both sides of our table and their meals and we actually engaged with them about the quality of our meal. Started with the heirloom tomato salad that the spouse was excited about. Could not decide on another appetizer so went with our server's recommendation to share an entre as another app - blue crab ravioli and then our entrees of scallops and mahi dishes. Wrapped up with the flan and pot de creme and french press coffee. Flan was heavenly and the best ever had (chef's recipe from his mother). All dishes were extremely flavorful but not overwhelming. Definitely a top meal in all of Charlotte for 2023. Will return with a group of friends next time!

    This was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Every dish was excellent. My only negative thing to say is that the bar service was very slow. Drinks took too long even when standing at the bar. And it took way too long to be served our bottle of wine even after requesting that we wanted it with our appetizers.

    We were excited to visit the restaurant for the first time to celebrate a birthday. It’s unfortunate that there was no lobby or available bar seats to wait 20 min until a table became available despite our reservations. The small plates and dinner was nice but not great. I ordered the Duck entree and was served room temperature. A lack luster evening overall.

    Service, cocktails, wine, and atmosphere were incredible, but we left really dissatisfied with our meal. We used to be Customshop regulars and have been back since the change in ownership and still really enjoyed it! This time everything just seemed off. The salad was a bowl of bitter ingredients with no balancing flavors, the pasta was an overpriced bowl of too-al-dente (undercooked) pasta that felt really uninspired and basic, and the croquettes were also a bit disappointing and monotonous in flavor. We are BIG fans of this place and hope it was just an off night.

    I love the daily surprises which certainly adds to the quality and freshness of everything. I throughly enjoyed my gin and cucumber cocktail, heirloom tomato app, shrimp with pasta paired with a lovely dry white wine! Yum!
