Great spot and ambience. Very limited menu though and no side anything with dishes, not even bread. We were all still hungry after eating there. They were out of some stuff also, like blonde ale and gave a bad recommendation for a parallel. Not sure it’s worth it in a Covid world, unless you’ve got lots of money
Good food. Great view!
Food was good just a very old place for sure need new furniture
We celebrated a birthday. You cannot beat the view or super attentive service. Wonderful meal in a rare locations
Good service, very good food and great view. I will return.
The best scallops ever and the steak could be cut with a butter knife . The service was great the food excellent and we felt the price was inline. The only downside was the noise level but there is probably nothing that can be done. I would definently recommend it to others and we will be back.
The food (sea bass, spatzle) was exceptional. Wine prices were reasonable for California. Wait staff was personable. Plan to return for confirmation.
My sons birthday, the restaurant, was at best 30% capacity, yet the five of us we were being shoe horned into a booth built for couples.
Wonderful service and food
Service and food were excellent.
Great sunset views.
Bad choice of music. I cant feel the ambience. Im sorry.
Always an exceptional experience. Fantastic view if the sunset makes for the perfect romantic night out, or an impressive business dinner. The chef never fails to deliver flavorful, sophisticated dishes. Paired with a nice cocktail and even indulge in dessert (my personal favorite being the pavlova) - what more could you ask?! Heaven on earth.
I was coming here to celebrate my mother and my girlfriends birthday and it was absolutely amazing the food was perfect everything came out in a timely manner. Everything was worth every penny!
It would be fine if there were some flowers on the table because it was valentines day. The music was fine and the garçons were polite. The table near the window was not ok at night no ocean view because of darkness and no convenience because of the shape of the table . The elevator also was old
Unsatisfactory Valentine's day dinner. Came early for our reservation. Went and tried to enjoy the bar. Service was so slow and there was no hussle to get drinks served. Drinks were good though when they did come. We placed our reservation a few months in advance for a window table however we were sat in the middle of the room getting bumped by other guests and wait staff. And this is even despite a couple of open window tables that we passed by. Wait staff was exceptional but there was only two of them covering the entire restaurant as far as we could tell. Food was pretty good. Fyi mashed potatoes are instant and not truly homemade as advertised. We unfortunately don't think we will ever be back.
Yes with a but- this place needs a refresh. The meal was good but totally unacceptable that we had to wait between 5-10 minutes to get a glass of wine to pair with meal. It was a holiday but servers should plan for a backed up bar consulting with diners before the course is brought to the table.
Very good food and ambiance. The staff was friendly and helpful. The portions are somewhat small. The interior lighting should be reduced, especially after sunset.
Appetizer and dessert were delicious. Entrees were okay. Overall good experience
The place has a beautiful view, is nice and quiet, brunch is very good and last but not least the service was excellent! Great option!
Once again fantastic food. Excellent service .best view of the sunset in San Diego
As usual Chef Ingrid prepared the most delicious appetizers, entrees, and desserts. We had ceviche, fried artichokes, sea bass, gnocchi, deconstructed Pavolova, and apple fritters. All were as good and mostly better than dishes I have ever had. This is a jewel of a restaurant that has yet to be "discovered". I recommend it enthusiastically.
This place had been improved significantly since my last visit years ago. The view is much better on a clear day before sunset. I recommend this place and plan to come again soon.
Very good food during restaurant week. Maybe a little pricey for what you get. Can’t beat the view though.
I was there for a restaurant week poor selection of food anything that was interesting had an up charge ,desserts have six different desserts four of them up charges when we ordered our portions very small . Excellent view of the water but would want to try it without restaurant week
Love the restaurant week menu. Although the pork belly was dry and overcooked!
Met Executive Chef Ingrid Funes. She was gracious and kind to spend a little time while we were there for a nice lunch and birthday celebration. The staff was beyond friendly and the food delightful.
Let’s see, for starters...we were a party of three and were seated in some sort of overflow banquet room with parties of 10 and 12 and our table was small and wobbly. I ordered a glass of champagne. When it arrived I could see there wasn’t a single bubble in the bubbly. Totally flat. About 10 minutes later the server arrived with a new glass. The dinner itself was totally average at best. Service was also average at best. Will not come back. Ever.
Cusp restaurant never disappoints.
This is my 5th time here.
Food is excellent!
Service is good!
Beautiful views!
It's a Wonderful meal and environment.
Christmas Eve ambiance and wonderful service
This was our Christmas Eve dinner. We arrived and got a table immediately. Our waiter, Juan, was super friendly and recommended some great dishes. We'll be back in the spring to experience the view during the day.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. It was not crowded at all, which surprises me. The food here is as good as any of the restaurants we have eaten in in San Diego. We began with glasses of tempranillo, an excellent red wine. We had pork belly, octopus, and fried artichokes, all of which were superb. We shared scallops, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and fries. We ended with my favorite - the deconstructed Pavlova. The brussel sprouts should not be missed. The fries are crispy and hot. The flavors in all dishes are exquisite. My only complaint was that the air inside was chilly. We have eaten in a lot of restaurants, and this place has consistently the best food.
Tuesday date night for $60 was a great deal!
Cusp is a beautiful restaurant. The bar, and the restrooms are stunning. The service was great. We were there for Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey dinner was lack luster for the 35.00 price. Turkey was dry, and portions were small. Starters were tasty, however very small. Overall, would go here again. Maybe go for the view at the bar.
Thanksgiving dinner was disappointing. Turkey was bland altho sides were good, view as usual was gorgeous, but a colddddd breeze ran thru the place and everyone was shivering. Really? Great place for simple dishes on warm days I suppose...
Thanksgiving
Enjoyed a meal right before the holidays and the staff and food were top notch. The menu was excellent, and unexpected for a restaurant hidden in a hotel. View was amazing and provided a great sunset right when we arrived. Just a great experience.
Cusp has a great view of La Jolla Shores looking west to the ocean and sunsets. The food is California cuisine and done well. I recommend Cusp!
Reservation indicated it was a birthday celebration but no birthday dessert was offered, waitress had difficulty answering questions about menu items, music too loud & inappropriate for dinner- had to request that it be turned down, happy hour misleading, as happy hour choices were very limited, corkage fee was $25 for one bottle of wine. The fact that there were so few guests in the dining room should have been a clue. Will not return.
Excellent sea bass and lamb dishes
This restaurant has one of the best views I have seen. What made it even better was that we got to see the sunset. We had the oysters to start off with and they were delicious and tasted fresh. My dinner was good but the chicken breast was on the salty side. I also appreciated that my boyfriends birthday was acknowledged. Overall it’s a good restaurant with good food and a breathtaking view.
