Great views, food was good and the service was great!
Only drawback was the the open kitchen was a bit noisy and some of the cooking aromas are not always pleasant.

I would return wonderful view and service!

After 25+ years dining in the San Diego area, this was the worst dining experience I have encountered. Sunday is their 1/2 price on selected wines; their selection was limited to 6 wines, 3 white and 3 reds; they were out of stock on ALL three reds on their list. We only drink cab, or merlot. When I asked if they would honor half price on other reds listed on their regular wine list, they declined. (there were only 3 cabs) Our initial order upon arrival was for 2 Tito vodkas, they were out of Tito's!!! We then took Hanger One, my lady did not like the taste of the Hanger One, sent it back for a Chopin, which was fine. Their menu is very limited, so built on our negative experiences to that point, we decided to dine elsewhere. as we were leaving the manager did advise he was "comping" our drinks. The least he could offer. we eventually dined at Fleming's and had a wonderful dinner experience.

Went here for a Valentine's Day dinner. We had a very good experience. The view is amazing overlooking La Jolla shores and the ocean. Bar is very well done. Service was excellent. The food was very good with an assortment of options to fit various preferences including strong seafood and vegetarian dishes.

Went for Sunday brunch. Service was a bit slow, had to request and remind wait staff for condiments and water a couple times, medium well steak was requested but arrived under cooked with blood pooling under my scrambled eggs. View was amazing and appreciated by my out of town guests. Will try them again for dinner.

Food came before our drinks did. Service was slow and the place was not busy. One of the cocktails was not made correctly and the server had a little attitude about our sending it back. Overall? A disappointing experience.

To be fair, it was New Year's Eve and a Prix Fixe menu. We just happened to be staying at the hotel and needed dinner. The food was good, if uninspiring. The girl who took our orders was fine but the serving, and in particular the bussing, was dire. Food was being delivered before we'd finished and plates and glasses were not being removed. Messy. And at $75 a head for three courses, expensive.

Rang in the NEW YEAR in style! Love Cusp🎉. Pre fixed courses for busy night. Chef added a beautiful amuse-bouche (trio of AMAZING bites). We were amused! Entrees were perfection - especially enjoyed mushroom risotto that accompanied my entree. Service was top drawer, Anthony was
attentive without being invasive.

We picked this restaurant because of the reviews, and we went for the Christmas prefix dinner; a la carte menu was not available.
The view is outstanding and the food was very good, however the service was terrible.
First of all it took them 10 minutes to deliver the drinks, (one of them was a bottled beer, but they just brought a glass full of beer, no bottle, so it could have been anything).
Then they served the lobster bisque (a creamy soup) and we had to ask twice for spoons.
We were there around 6:00 PM, still throughout the dinner we felt rushed, they would take the empty plates away while one of us was still eating; right after the main course we got the dessert, then right after dessert the bill was on the table, they did not ask us for coffee.
Forks and knives were placed right on the wooden table and dirty knives were not replaced, but back on the table. FYI the prefix menu was $65 per person and our bill (before tips) was $300 for four people.
When I spend this kind of money I expect the very best, not sloppy service or table setting like breakfast. There are several restaurants in San Diego that are fairly expensive, but you spend the money with pleasure because they make you feel special, CUSP is NOT one of them.

The service was better than the food which was really disappointing for the price. Decent wine list though. Can't say I'll be back soon despite the lovely view.

Went for a second romantic dinner there, and to celebrate a 19 year relationship. They never even noted the special occasion. The noise was absolutely horrible. Complained about it three times, and was met with perplexed looks and frustration. They just couldn't get it right. We intended a quiet, romantic conversation - much like last time a month ago. It was instead an 'environmental disaster' that we did our best to work around - all the time we were there. At one point we planned to leave, and they promised to lower the piped in music. Fifteen minutes later it would blare again. Really? I hope they can recover.
The service was outstanding and she did her best to overcome what she couldn't control.
No plans to return! It's a shame, after all the turnover at this location, I thought the restaurant finally had a winner after our last-month's visit.

We came in on our honeymoon, and had a wonderful time. We actually sat in the bar--the World Series was on, as well as some great live music--but the entire restaurant is just beautiful, the food is great, and our server was excellent. We even came back for breakfast, and then another, lighter dinner the next day! We especially loved the flatbreads and scallops and, but everything was delicious, and we'll definitely be back on our next visit!

The food was excellent and the view was beautiful. I just wish that when the server asked if our food was ok, she would have waited for the answer - I wanted to mention that my plate was cold, as were the vegetables. Fortunately, the steak was warm.

This place has done a 180 since Hilton took over! Applause all around as the food was delicious & service was impeccable. This visit, one scoffed when I asked about happy hour specials & I actually got to hold the menu! This was Restaurant Week, so had option of their 3-course meal ($50) or Reg menu; went al carte. I would like to see more moderately priced wines offered; we had $34 Barbera which was sublime but from there prices jumped to $80-100.

We have visited this place for its view. Restaurant has wooden top tables for two people by windows with quite nice view of La Jolla Bay. But it was quite warm inside. We have asked to open sliding door. After five minutes we were informed that door must be closed because "something" may fly inside and find way to the kitchen (restaurant is at 12ve floor). The cutlery was placed directly on the table. We had hard time to pick it up. Wooden top was sticky. Moreover this beautiful view was obstructed by dirty window. Somebody did splash sticky stuff on table and window. Beer and drink were served without coasters and they left wet spots on table. Our server, despite the fact that place was empty, tried to serve us as fast as she could to get rid of us. Before we have managed to finish, not tasty at all, appetizers, we got main course. We have finished main course and right away we got dessert menu. Main course was slightly better than appetizers, but still, there was no taste. My lamb was hard to chew. We have asked for a break to digest main course. We heard OK. After 5 minutes desserts were in front of us. For a change desserts were very good. At the moment we have finished them we got our bill... What can I say? If I have date with my wife, I hate to be rushed. I want to spend some time with her in a nice place. Sorry, not in this place. It was first and last time we have been in CUSP restaurant.

We really enjoyed CUSP. We arrived about 15 mins before our reservation time, but were promptly seated at a table with a spectacular view of the ocean. (CUSP is on the 11th floor of a hotel) When we were seated, the sun was a bit strong so the waiter offered to lower the shade. He checked back a couple times, which made us feel welcome. We ordered two cocktails; both were excellent. For an appetizer, we ordered the crispy octopus. It was cooked perfectly and the accompanying sauce and vegetables were very nice. My wife thought the octopus was a bit too salty, however. For the main course, my wife ordered a seafood pasta and I ordered the steak. The pasta was very good but was spicier than we expected. The steak was flavorful and paired well with the broccoli. We definitely plan to return to CUSP; the food and service was great and seeing the ocean sunset was a sight to behold!

After seeing so many raving reviews, I was so excited to be going to Cusp. It's as lovely as all the previous incarnations of Hotel La Jolla restaurants, but there the comparisons end. We did have a yummy baby beet salad, but we both got the Lobster Gnocchi. It was bland with just a tiny bit of lobster and gnocchi that were cooked incorrectly- 1/3 overdone, 1/3 OK, and 1/3 nearly raw. If this had been a $10 entree instead of a $30 entree we still would have been disappointed.

The dishes were amazingly delicious. The service was top notch. We eat out about 2-3 times a month and we've come across horrible service at nice restaurants. It was a breath of fresh air to have had service like this tonight. WOW!!

This was our 5th or 6th visit and we have always enjoyed Cusp. Perhaps it was an off night? The food was just average and it is no longer fine dining - the flatbread was tasteless, shrimp not cooked and they offer gooey pepperoni rolls which seem like something you'd get at Olive Garden (but the kids liked them). Even though the restaurant was only half full, the kitchen could not keep up. They served us cold, well-done fish that was supposed to be rare. We sent it back and we didn't get a replacement until everyone at the table had finished their meal. We watched plate after plate go our ahead of our replacement. When the fish did finally come, it was not rare, it was raw! Terrible. I think on Cusp may be on the Cusp of going out of business.

Wow! Great restaurant! Service was fantastic event though they had the "trainee in tow" thing going which is sometimes irritating. One in our party was a vegetarian and the chef gladly converted a meat-pasta dish to vegetarian which was amazing - pasta was obviously made on site. I also tried the glazed cauliflower even though I'm not a vegetarian and it was delicious. Every dish we had was new and unique including the albacore crudo.
Lastly for ambience, the view can't be beat. My daughters also ranked the ladies room as the best in the world - and believe me they should know. What other Ladies room do you know of that has an ocean view?!! I highly recommend this place
