Cusp is a beautiful restaurant. The bar, and the restrooms are stunning. The service was great. We were there for Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey dinner was lack luster for the 35.00 price. Turkey was dry, and portions were small. Starters were tasty, however very small. Overall, would go here again. Maybe go for the view at the bar.
Thanksgiving dinner was disappointing. Turkey was bland altho sides were good, view as usual was gorgeous, but a colddddd breeze ran thru the place and everyone was shivering. Really? Great place for simple dishes on warm days I suppose...
Cusp has a great view of La Jolla Shores looking west to the ocean and sunsets. The food is California cuisine and done well. I recommend Cusp!
Reservation indicated it was a birthday celebration but no birthday dessert was offered, waitress had difficulty answering questions about menu items, music too loud & inappropriate for dinner- had to request that it be turned down, happy hour misleading, as happy hour choices were very limited, corkage fee was $25 for one bottle of wine. The fact that there were so few guests in the dining room should have been a clue. Will not return.
Excellent sea bass and lamb dishes
This restaurant has one of the best views I have seen. What made it even better was that we got to see the sunset. We had the oysters to start off with and they were delicious and tasted fresh. My dinner was good but the chicken breast was on the salty side. I also appreciated that my boyfriends birthday was acknowledged. Overall it’s a good restaurant with good food and a breathtaking view.
The view was great. The service was okay. Waiting a long time to get our drinks. We order some apps that came our wrong. The food runner gave us an excuse instead of just taking care of it. The food was way too salty and was not edible. We did not finish our meals. Way over priced for what get received.
I was somewhat disappointed in this experience at Cusp. We have celebrated a few special occasions at this restaurant over the years & this time was less than special. Food was just ok & not really worth the price. I think the hotel/restaurant is trying to be a more casual spot but the prices are still high.
I was disappointed that when I made our reservation I told them we were celebrating our anniversary & outside of the hostess wishing us a happy anniversary it was ignored.
I will most likely only return for a drink and the view. I’ve had much better food at San Diego’s better restaurants.
Excellent food. Great service
Juan our waiter is outstanding! Food and presentation superb
Great view of LaJolla Shores while sipping wine with a friend and enjoying a delicious lunch - my colleague had not been recently and both of us were ready to return Cusp.
We had a fantastic dinner at Cusp for Restaurant Week. The view of sunset over La Jolla cove was gorgeous, food was delicious and service was great. The lobster ravioli and chef's special fish were particular highlights. I really appreciate when the restaurant has a creative vegetarian dish on the menu, such as the crispy cauliflower, yum!
Went for restaurant week and every thing was amazing!! Friendly and attentive staff, amazing views, and the food was perfect.
It was another amazing view and lovely experience.
Probably the best view in all of San Diego in terms of a restaurant. The food was delicious. Wonderful gazpacho to start and delicious Seabass for my entrée. Highly recommend and I will be back soon
Thank you for taking the time to review us, and so glad to hear you had a great experience. We hope to see you soon.
Terrific food, wonderful service, and a great view. What else would you want?
Can't beat the view, the food is excellent, and Dennis our server was a double 'P' (professional and personable).
Great food and view!
Great spot to watch the sunset. The food and drinks were very good. The wait staff was attentive and helpful and all of their recommendations were excellent.
love this friendly restaurant！
Food was great, views were great but the service was terrible. We couldn’t find our waitress most of the time and got better service from the kind bus boy.
We had a very nice experience at Cusp. Nice table on the window for a beautiful sunset, excellent server Juan took care of us, wonderful food and drinks all made it a memorable anniversary for us. Thank you. We will be back.
Cusp is my favorite restaurant in San Diego. I came on accident about 6 years ago and haven't stopped coming. Whenever we have friends in town we always take them to Cusp and they love it. The food is always amazing and the service is impeccable. Of course you can't beat the view especially at sunset. But even without the view I would keep coming back for the food and the service. You're always treated like you matter.
Nice view from the top floor of Hotel La Jolla. Valet parking was also pretty easy. Service was good and welcoming.
All our orders came out and different times with no explanation. We love it here so hope it was a one time snafu.
High priced, no dress code, servers tried really hard, but have no upscale formal service training. No tablecloths. Slow beverage service. Dinner, no alcohol for 4 $250/tip
No presentation/explanation of plated dinner.
Great view, but otherwise breakfast and service was just ok.
Very good salad. Needs more salad options. Very good service. A beautiful view of La Jolla Ocean.
This restaurant's view is second to none. The food is excellent and the service is friendly.
Great for a special occasion!
I took a friend, an ESL student, for lunch. She had never been there and absolutely loved the view, the food, and the service, and so did I. Our server was a wonderful young man who really paid attention and brought us what we needed before we had to ask; he was also delightful to talk to, personable and efficient. The food was very, very good; I had the Chicken Cobb Salad which had the best dressing I've ever had. She had the Greek sandwich and really enjoyed it. It was a very lovely lunch.
Cusp is a great date night or even business dinner location. Free valet parking with validation. Views of the ocean are great from the top floor and nearly all tables have a view. Service is a bit slow when it's busy but the food is terrific. The exec chef came out and chatted us up. She is from San Salvador and the food has some Latin leanings. Ceviche is amazing as is the crispy octopus. Even if you don't like octopus, this is worth trying. Fish is always good. I had the Lamb pappardelle which was excellent.
One of the most beautiful views in La Jolla. This restaurant should be packed but it's location is not as obvious as the places on Prospect in La Jolla. Great Happy Hour in the bar. We are local and find Cusp to be one of our favorite places to take visitors when we want to show off our city!
Impeccable food and service with an unmatched view!
Outstanding service but the food is not that good at all.
An unfortunate experience. Brought the entire family here for the Fourth of July dinner. Ugh. Service was slow and inattentive, portions tiny, and the bill outrageous. Pretty view though.
The great view by any window makes up for limited menu...
We took my in-laws here for their anniversary and we were not disappointed. The food was very good and the staff were very attentive. We will be returning!
Once again, excellent food with interesting spice combinations. One of the best views in San Diego. Attentive professional waitstaff. Highly recommended for a romantic date or to impress a visitor to our beautiful city
