Limited menu. Oysters were excellent. We both had fish (Black Cod and Salmon) that was a bit fishy tasting. Very nice presentation. Would have liked to see a few more Merlot and California wine options.
The Seafood "Stew" wasn't a stew. It was a moderate serving of seafood with very little broth. Not worth $36.00

This was our first time to Current Fish and Oyster. Both my wife and I enjoyed the modern way the restaurant was set up where you were able to see the kitchen and bar staff working and enjoying what they do. Our server Katie was outstanding and patient with us explaining the different choices and very knowledgeable with the menu choices. She made our experience very enjoyable! We both loved that the music volume was low and we were able to talk to each other at a normal tone. Overall it was a great experience. Thanks and keep up the great work.
We're in Salt Lake City on vacation and came here on out first night here. It was very good. I had black cod and it was excellent. My wife had salmon and she found it excellent, also.
We went to current for our anniversary. The ambiance wasn’t great as the decor was kind of casual and we were sat on the side next to the open kitchen. In my opinion an open kitchen is not typical for an up class restaurant. The service was kind of slow but we weren’t worried about it as we were enjoying our date. The food was amazing. Scallops were perfectly cooked and it was the best shrimp and grits either of us had ever had. Oysters were nice and small, not fishy at all, and delicious. The hummingbird cake was moist. Would recommend but next time we will dress more casual to coincide with the ambiance.

Current never disappoints. Scallops and wagyu beef, you can’t go wrong. Tonight they had new desserts- pine but galette and hummingbird cake- amazing!! My favorite restaurant in SLC.
Excellent food and friendly, attentive service. We had the black cod, and it was moist and flavorful. We always enjoy coming here.
Lovely dinner, our out-of-town guests were very impressed, having had no idea what a cool destination SLC has become.

Amazing Salmon. Staff was great!
Lovely surroundings, high ceiling and nice seating. Started with grilled clams, just enough to satisfy our shellfish cravings. Clam chowder thicker than expected with plenty of clams in a portion that left room four our entrees. My salmon was tender, tasty and satisfying...the grilled green beans went very well with the salmon. Not too crazy about the puree under the salmon. My husband enjoyed his cod, but I thought it was bland compared to my salmon. This was enough for me, and my husband ordered the flourless chocolate cake...which he scarfed up like he hadn't had sweets for a while.
We will definitely be going back for their Sunday prime rib. It smelled heavenly.
This was a perfect restaurant for our anniversary. The sommelier had amazing recommendations on food based on the wine we chose. The octopus and scallops were perfectly cooked. I think the waiter was a little frustrated with me (I'm Celiac, so everything had to be gluten free), but overall we had an amazing anniversary and I didn't get sick. I chose the restaurant because we've never been before and I wanted gluten free dessert.

Amazing! We had a large-ish group and tried most every starter on the menu. The oysters were a little splash of oceanside heaven! I highly recommend the green lips. Every entree we had was superb.
Every time we come to Current Fish & Oyster we find new favorite dishes. The food is outstanding and the service is amazing. This time, the oysters were fantastic, fresh and beautifully served. This time we tried the Pacific Cod and the Current Fish Stew. Both were pure perfection. Our server, Katie was wonderful. She was insightful and made great recommendations. Our previous server, Ryan who is also fantastic, was working the bar that night and gave wonderful recommendations on wine pairings and interesting wines that the restaurant prides itself in. I loved the rose from the Canary Islands! We tried the Yuzu Posset for dessert this time - it was amazing! Fresh, crisp, lemony and the hint of the rosemary was perfect - highly recommend trying it! Thank you everyone for coming through once again and making our experience pure perfection.
Based on the price point I think there needs to be some attention to things like bread served at the table. The food was good not great and the service was in the same catagory. Im not sure what the overall goal is for current but if they want a memorable dining experiece they need to improve there game. If a me to is the approach then they have achieved that goal.

This was our first time, on a date for our anniversary. Ambiance was cool and hip, but our 2-top was sandwiched between two large groups... which was just ok. The starters and drinks were great, the salmon was outstanding, the Black cod was good but not outstanding. We would come back but not for a romantic evening.
Amazing flavors in a creative and appealing presentation
Food was great as always. The hostess made us wait until the entire party arrived which was unnecessary.
The branzino was superb; I was reminded of dinners I had in Levano and Firenze.
The evening started with a warm greeting from the waiter, continued to excellent service and recommendations. BUT it was the incredible food that impressed our party.
