Curbside Cafe Ratings and Reviews
We were finished with an appointment in the neighborhood and happened across Curbside as we were driving down the street. Reminded us of Paris, so we decided to try it and were not disappointed. We were seated immediately and the owner Olivier treated us to a nice glass of champagne while we reviewed the menu. It's a small, nice and relaxing cafe with a varied selection on the menu and a nice wine list. Our meals were delicious! Thanks for the hospitality Olivier, we'll look forward to returning again soon.
Food was to supposed to be French, and it was a mix of Italian, Spanish and Californian cuisine. Lettuce was limp and soggy, french onion soup had only and few onions and under seasoned. The mushrooms chicken rissoto was extremely dry and tasted like bacon....more like bacon fried rice.
The only good thing at this restaurant was the Spanish white wine we had ( verdejo), which was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced.
My suggestion is order a great bottle of Spanish wine, drink and enjoy, then go across the street and have a great Italian dinner at Delfinas
French appears to be out!!!!!!!
Had dinner before a show at the Filmore, which is a very convenient and easy walk. Curbside has very reasonable prices for San Francisco, including the wine list. The appetizers, particularly the fried ravioli, were quite good. The main dishes were uninspiring though. The service was friendly and efficient.
This is the best "reasonably-priced" restaurant in the neighborhood. It has a quaint neighborhood feel -- a smaller romantic setting for dates, with the hustle and bustle of Fillmore street right outside the door. I would describe the food as elevated comfort food, with a California-style flair for fresh ingredients. The food is very tasty, but larger portions. The quality of the ingredients is fit for foodies. (I was pleasantly surprised to see high quality ingredients and larger portions at this price point.) We visit frequently. I put this on a short list of restaurants in which everything on the menu is excellent.
This is a special little San Francisco neighborhood restaurant. A little funky, but nice service and good food. It is easy to have a quiet conversation. The food and wine are reasonable so you can go back several times without "breaking the bank"....something that is hard to find in this neighborhood or even San Francisco generally.
Awesome experience at curbside café, the night before Valentine's Day. We had to work on Valentines, so took a special evening on Monday night to celebrate. The food was delicious and the service was really good, and we both were very satisfied with the lovely dining experience. The waiter/owner was an amazing host. Highly recommended!
While the food was outstanding, it was Sooooooo slow. One waiter trying to maintain the whole dining room just didn't cut it.
Granted they had a large party that had most of the dining room (~30 people), and even though we ordered within 5 minutes of sitting down, we didn't get anything until the large party had their meals. I'm talking 50 minutes to get our starter course. And when our starters did finally come, no apology came with it. The entrees (filet mignon) were also very slow (30 minute wait after first course - they were scrumptious. A snafu with the bill (we were given another party's bill & credit card), kept us waiting another 15 minutes for our bill.
The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, but can get a bit noisy when all tables are full.
Food is tasty, generous in portions, and well prepared without fancy pretensions. Steak was excellent and nicely presented.
Service was rather spotty, because there was only a single very harried and busy waiter to serve this entire small restaurant! He tended to get a bit rude when one tried to flag him down for reasonable service requests, but he was clearly over worked.
This little place has everything going for it...location, romantic ambiance, food. My only complaint was the service. When we were ready to order, the server seated another couple and took their order before ours. When my glass of wine arrived, the glass had lipstick on it.
We had our first course and when the server brought our entrees, he had not cleared our first course plates. He was completely overwhelmed and never seemed to anticipate our needs whatsoever. The poor service really distracted from our overall experience.
