View Private Dining DetailsCurbside is a lovely spot just off of Fillmore Street. Whether you are dining with a date pre or post show or entertaining your parents there is something on the menu for everyone’s liking.
My husband and I have a Wednesday night class at the Japan Cultural
center until 8pm, and have been exploring places to eat along Fillmore. So far our favorite choice is the Curbside Cafe for its atmosphere, good food, and the charming maitre d'. Also, it's one of the only restaurants in the area where we can hear ourselves think!
Food is great, particularly the Pot Roast. Service is good. Staff is accommodating. Prices are reasonable. And best of all for us old folks, there is always parking within the block. That is really unusual.
Excelent food and service.
This restaurant provides great value, nice menu selection and generally a quiet atmosphere. There is always abundant easy parking which for me is a big plus.
Merveilleux!
We always have an amazing meal and service. Olivier makes this neighborhood restaurant one of our absolute favorites!
they need to improve crab cakes
Chicken Picata wa delicious
regular salad was perfect
Bread is unique and delicious
The food and service were fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Experience was average. The waiter was nice but not very welcoming. The food, which was advertised as French American, was solidly American and not even adventurous. The wine was below average and of low value. Sound level was fine, but then the restaurant was half full.
We loved the pasta with scallops and scampi and the filet special. It’s our favorite place to go for a special dinner out.
Food was great but they do not honor reservations
Food was OK. Nothing outstanding. Ambience good, but very, very loud. Hard to converse. I prefer coming here for lunch.
We love the Curbside Café. We go there a lot; since the early 1990's. Excellent service, excellent food!
I have been dining at the Curbside Cafe for years. The food is excellent, the service is great; It's cozy - very French, casual. I love it.
Lovely small spot that feels like a neighborhood gem. Great waitstaff, delicious food, much quieter than so many places today.
Always consistently excellent. Great neighborhood gem.
Our favorite little neighborhood place for comfort food and glass of wine.
Very small restaurant and we were there on very busy night. Food was delicious. Don’t miss the French onion soup and bread pudding. Ask for window table
The one waiter on shift was hustling to make every table feel taken care of! I felt bad for him but he was super nice and did not seem stressed at all. The steak lacked flavor but otherwise it was a great meal!
Very cute cafe! First time visiting, decided to check it out when I saw it on SF Restaurant Week. The filet mignon was a little chewy but everything else was great. Delicious salad, French onion soup, creme brûlée, & decent wine selection. Very cozy & great for casual meetings or dates. Would go back.
Love this intimate relaxing restaurant where you can talk to each other without yelling
Great local place with really tasty dishes.
New Years Eve
We went here for Christmas breakfast. It was quick and good!
Good service with a French inspired menu in a cozy, fairly quiet atmosphere where you can linger and enjoy table conversation without interruption.
Always pleasant, especially the owner/manager making people happy.
The place is the size of a room with 11-12 tables crammed in - it can actualy be a nice date night spot but do not go on busy nights - unless you do not mind sitting 10 inch away from other tables. Customer services was non existent we were sat and waited quite a while to order - however food came out preatty fast . It was however rushed - calamary was not tasty at all with batter half way off and no flavour. Risotto was decent but scampy just ok - not worth the price. It could be that the service was so bad becouse one person wirked as a host , waiter and tge manager with only one cook as well ...I actualy like hole in the wall places and would possibly try it on a not busy night or for a brunch but this was a preatty dissatisfactory experiance.
You really want to like this place but you can't. It's a small, charming neighborhood bistro just off Fillmore, but unfortunately the food just doesn't quite work. There were 6 of us, but only 1 of the 6 had an entree that was any good (the waiter recommended chicken piccata, and he was right). Maybe the chef had a bad night and lost his/her salt shaker, not sure. So we left before dessert and filled up on ice cream across the street.
The food was exactly what was needed for a casual business lunch - delicious salads. the service was really good - attentive but not overly attentive. I love this place!
Cuter than cute & excellent food - service was also very good. A very pleasant surprise in the cute little neighborhood !
We've come here for years and it is always very good!
We were finished with an appointment in the neighborhood and happened across Curbside as we were driving down the street. Reminded us of Paris, so we decided to try it and were not disappointed. We were seated immediately and the owner Olivier treated us to a nice glass of champagne while we reviewed the menu. It's a small, nice and relaxing cafe with a varied selection on the menu and a nice wine list. Our meals were delicious! Thanks for the hospitality Olivier, we'll look forward to returning again soon.
Loved my dish - the scallops & shrimp scampi. The only way it could have been better was to have a green salad with a few less shrimp.
It's a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. The food is consistently good, especially the salmon.
We go here frequently and love it. It is a great neighborhood spot. The food is consistently good and the service is excellent. It is a cozy bistro with a nice atmosphere and a simple menu. The wine selection is good too.
A very quaint little restaurant that meets that "neighborhood gem" designation to a tee.
Excellent service, generous helpings, lovely atmosphere and a good wine list. Perfect for a
night out.
This place always satisfies...French influenced food...fresh ingredients. The wait staff is very good. We especially like the early bird dinner. A great value and the food is excellent.
great little neighborhood spot. good french food and unpretentious.
Food was to supposed to be French, and it was a mix of Italian, Spanish and Californian cuisine. Lettuce was limp and soggy, french onion soup had only and few onions and under seasoned. The mushrooms chicken rissoto was extremely dry and tasted like bacon....more like bacon fried rice.
The only good thing at this restaurant was the Spanish white wine we had ( verdejo), which was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced.
My suggestion is order a great bottle of Spanish wine, drink and enjoy, then go across the street and have a great Italian dinner at Delfinas
French appears to be out!!!!!!!
