I like salmon and chicken meals and most of breakfast options they serve there. Yesterday, I tried crab cakes for the dinner and would agree with other reviewers: it is not amongst the best dishes they can cook. I had to wait for more than 30 minutes to get it overcooked; and, unlike similar dishes I tried in CA and NC, nothing reminded me of the taste of crab in it. The sevice was very good and Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa was delicious, though.
Amazing every time!!!
Always good food and quiet ambiance. Olivier is a wonderful host and always makes you feel comfortable.
Delicious tender seared salmon with risotto and vegetables. What else could I consider to be appropriate to end a Saturday' night? A glass of wine, perhaps, and a quiet atmosphere. I was granted all of the components at Curbside cafe.
We have been going to the Curbside Cafe for many years and always enjoy it. It's comfortable, cozy & cute with a nice menu and good food and a nice clientele. It is decorated as a small cafe might look in France. The food is not really French, but the menu has a nice variety of options. Service is very good. I very nice spot for a good dinner in a relaxed ambience.
That small cozy restaurant, with subtle French ambience perceived through the atmospheric music, the way the tables are laid and the waiters treat you made me feel a precious guest there. The menu was quite diverse in terms of meals to take: a choice of breakfast/brunch, lunch, and dinner options and wines. Moreover, the size of the plates allows you to enjoy the main course and even try a delicious dessert. I enjoyed their omelette with salmon, chocolate dessert one day and a delicious chicken dish with Chardonnay the other day. Curbside Cafe has become one of my favourite places in Pacific Heights.
Great restaurant with a lot of charm. Service was great, food, drinks and attentiveness of server were all up to par. Food was excellent. Dining room is intimate in size, so diners should be comfortable with that aspect.
We did not know that the only option was the special at $65/per. This place has no room for entry! People were standing right behind me while I was eating. They are too small a place to deal with a holiday crowd. Over-booked and walk-ins had no place to stand and wait. Wait staff was rushed and confused. After taking our order, we waited awhile for the soup. After we finished our soup and someone took away our plates, our waiter came back and asked if we were ready to order! He quickly realized he had already done so. Ambiance: none. bad lighting, no curtain or partition between kitchen entrance and dining room. Did not look very clean.
The service was prompt and friendly, but the lunch meals were very ordinary for the price.
Friendly waitstaff and great food!
To find a quiet neighborhood restaurant and be taken care of and served such a wonderful and satisfying meal is so rare these days. Adequate number of choices for your main very relaxed atmosphere . Enjoy!
Great neighborhood find. Brought there by a dear friend. Tiny spot, so make a reservation. Food choices were abundant. Food was healthy, fresh and good, with a french flair. One server manged the whole room with great success. Enjoyed this very much. Will go again.
Great meal, as always, for Restaurant Week!
We have had many wonderful meals at Curbside, including breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Every time we go, we are always so impressed with the delicious food, great service, and cozy atmosphere. It’s a lovely little restaurant that has thrived for many years, because it is consistently excellent.
Fabulous salads, soups, sandwiches & burgers - amazing specials and the BEST raspberry cheesecake ever!!
Lovely restaurant, great service, delicious food. A hidden gem.
Very good food with fabulous French bread. Reasonable and quiet do you can talk. Neighborhood spot and consistently excellent.
I have been a customer since New Years 1986 and still enjoy going there. It is small and intimate and good food at a reasonable price.
Love Curbside and go there regularly. Great food, wine list, Esvan is a friendly, professional waiter!
Ambiance très chaleureuse, excellente nourriture! Nous reviendrons pour un dîner ou même un brunch!
The pot roast was outstanding - juicy and tender. The risotto was so-so. The Rive Sud wine was tasty and reasonably priced. This is a nice place for meeting friends or a romantic dinner.
Small restaurant with very personal service. Food was very good.
Pot roast and chicken piccata outstanding.
Charming , quiet, and so reasonable.
My girlfriends and I had a lovely evening. We wanted a low key neighborhood place where we could chat over a good meal. Curbside fit the bill and more. My friends were charmed by the little slice of Paris. The menu had something for everyone and we all enjoyed our selections. Thank you Olivier.
Great little spot to catch up with friends or a weeknight date - the whole restaurant only seats about 25 people, so it's very cozy and charming. Food is good, nothing out-of-this-world good, but worth a try! Good wine list, very fair prices. Overall, good experience!
Food is always very good at Curbside and also reasonably priced.
Food was great!! Service was off as we hadn't finished our soup and the main courses came out. We told the server to wait and he said ok but our food would be cold! Will go back and have been going on and off for many years.
Took two friends from out of town, mainly chose Curbside for proximity to my house as it was a rainy day. Food, as always, is okay but nothing special. My caesar salad could have had fresher lettuce. But it's a nice atmosphere and I want them to stay in business for another forty years, so I will continue to eat here on a semi-regular basis.
Best French toast ever!
Omelets are good, too.
+fresh orange juice
The salmon in the sandwich was a tiny piece, half a piece on one side a sliver of a piece on the other half. But the was a huge bun! Next time I’ll just order something else.
Curbside never disappoints. The salmon filet was delicious and cooked to my exact specifications! A couple or small group can actually have a conversation, a rare plus in this day and age! Esvin is a wonderful waiter.
Old school, reasonably priced, sweet service. yummy food.
The food was ok, nothing remarkable but good food cooked and presented nicely. Could use a bit of ingenuity. I could see this as a local neighborhood “go-to” for those who want a break from cooking. The ambiance was cozy, romantic and intimate. Waiter was nice.
I asked for a quiet table away from other diners, and was seated at the ideal table! Pre-dinner drinks were lovely; delicious bread fresh out of the oven; and my dinner mate and I immediately chose the same entree- the chicken risotto. Yum! So good, with melted cheese through out. Although I've lived in SF since 1980, it was my first time at Curbside. I will certainly return!
Oliver was very accommodating and attentive. Our butter pear salad and steak frites were excellent along with the chocolat mousse. Could use some french background music as the atmosphere was almost “whisper like”. Would highly recommend. A real value play in the Fillmore District.
Curbside never disappoints. Esvin is a superb server, helpful, friendly, professional. Ribeye special was perfectly cooked.
The food is consistently good at Curbside with fairly generous portions.
Curbside never disappoints. If you are looking for casual French food, look no further. Everything on the menu is well-prepared and delicious. Wines are well-chosen and inexpensive. The lone server is very skilled at managing the entire room. Highly recommended to both locals and visitors.
We found this restaurant online. It was near a concert venue, so it was convenient for dinner after the concert ended around 6pm. The menu is modest in length, and on our visit was augmented by three evening specials. I ordered one of them, the lamb shanks, which were excellently tender with a rich wine reduction. My partner opted for the pot roast from the regular menu. It was just okay, a bit chewy. The Ancient Peaks Cabernet (Paso Robles) offered a pleasing accompaniment. We also shared a pear salad before the main courses; it was outstanding!
One disappointment was that the restaurant is described as a French-themed bistro, but there wasn't much on the menu that one would expect from that description --- no cassoulet, no coq au vin (an Indian chicken curry and Italian chicken picatta, instead!).
