Cúrate Ratings and Reviews
I started visiting Asheville 2 years ago, and Curate quickly became a favorite.
Last night's visit was a bit odd, though. The meal was very good overall. However, 2 things gave me pause. First, my dining companion ordered the brussels sprouts. The dish arrived with 1 brussel sprout, and perhaps another one cut up (there were other elements to the dish, so it was hard to tell). We thought it was a mistake! The server actually tried to "defend" the dish. At a restaurant of this caliber, why would she argue with us about brussels sprouts? Right or wrong (and we were right), offer to come out with a half dozen brussels sprouts. The other odd thing is that there were...shall I say..."sheets" of sediment at the bottom of my glass of red wine. I have drank my share of wine, and I have never seen this before. Again, the server defended the wine. This was not a little bit of granulated sediment. I still believe something was wrong. They did offer to bring me an additional "splash" of wine. I did not accept the offer; I wasn't angling for free wine...I sincerely question what that was at the bottom of my glass.
Will I return to Curate? In a heartbeat. But something was off last night.
I love curate! If you are a foodie you must try! Katie Button is a great chef and all th ingredients are fresh and local. Something for everyone. Great tapas and a fun place to visit with friends! You won't be disappointed. Favorite restaurant in Asheville!
This was my second time to curate. We were there for my wife's birthday. Her first time. It was delicious. Lardo and pork were perfect. Good wines and cocktails too. Service was excellent. We ended up going back the next night too. Squid ink pasta was off the charts. It's a must go to when visiting Asheville.
Lovely as always! We may be getting close to having tried the full menu. The sugar shard dessert is a nice gratis touch, but perhaps Curate could mix it up a bit in terms of a different nice finish as a 'thank you' for spending a special occasion at Asheville's #1 restaurant.
You're still the queen of the Asheville dining scene!
Excellent dinner, exceptional service & guidance. It was a perfect meal except the lamb, which we would not order again, and being squashed against the wall at a tiny table in the back detracted from the experience. Overall, it was a leisurely, well-curated, delicious meal.
We love Curate and go every once in awhile. A bit pricy for a regular visit. But, we saw it had a restaurant week option, and decided to try it for that. Just amazing! A set menu, but such variety and large number of dishes. It was very special and even better than we hoped it would be.
One of my top five meals ever! Impeccable service along with food that was innovative and delicious. We came back the following day for lunch. I would easily have paid twice as much for this experience. So simple with so much flavor. I ordered Chef Button's cookbook upon returning home. I cannot wait until we are in Asheville again. OFF THE CHARTS!!
Fabulous as always! Went to Curate for Restaurant Week and what a wonderful sampling of their menu it was. The price was so reasonable we thought it was a mistake. It was my foodie sister's first visit and she was wowed. Bruschetta was marvelous, mushrooms mouthwatering, a cod and potato puree I'd have never ordered on my own was great served with crisp bread. There were brussel sprouts I could've made a meal of, a spanish ham (Jamon) that was nice but not as flavorful as I'm used to and a squid done to perfection. A meat ravioli in bechamel sauce and manchego was as light as it was delicious. We ordered an extra which is my ALL TIME favorite - never leave Curate without trying the pork skirt steak, best pork you've ever put in your mouth! Don't get me started on the dessert. A heavenly night.
Wonderful meal and service. Eric's service was excellent and he paced our meal so we didn't feel rushed. He recommended several dishes that were among our favorites. It was an enjoyable night especially having my brother here from Switzerland. The food is so high quality in ingredients and taste. This is one of my favorite Asheville restaurants.
Exceptional~ Highly recommend going with a group to enjoy the "spanish experience." I am a gluten free eater & our waiter expertly choreographed a menu that satisfied our adventurous pallets & suited my dietary needs. Incredible meal & atmosphere. Such a lovey toast to spanish cuisine & incredible ingredients!
We have been to Curate a number of times, and it never fails to be fantastic. My wife and I both love the butternut squash soup, and we always get patatas bravas. Among other items, we tried the pasta roll this time. Neither of us are chicken liver fans, but it was amazing. Curate is always a place that we highly recommend.
We loved this place and are so happy we booked it. I cannot recommend the paella-ish dish enough! It was so delicious, but may not be for someone who doesn't enjoy seafood. We also thoroughly enjoyed the fried eggplant with local honey and rosemary. Sounds like a weird combo but works great! The restaurant was so lovely! We'll definitely be making our way back on our next visit to Asheville.
