Located in the heart of the South Lake Union neighborhood, near downtown Seattle, Tom Douglas’ Trattoria Cuoco offers four private and semi-private dining options, each capturing the rustic elegance and ambiance unique to the restaurant.

Absolutely delicious food and overall great experience. We will be back for sure!
Pleasant hostess, but delayed service by bartender.
Excellent food. Very kind waitperson. We ate lunch here for Restaurant Week. Very yummy.
Nice spot in South Lake Union...very good Italian. Not too pricey and pleasant room. We'd go back if travel brings us back to Seattle.
The Men of Kenatic gathered here for a working dinner. There is an excellent selection of home made pastas on offer - we sampled the lasagna, gnocchi, and linguine and all were exceptional. Some of us also had the pork and salmon and the fish was done to perfection.
Of note, the octopus appetizer is outstanding.
A bit pricey but there is no questioning the preparation.
My wife and I had a nice dinner there. Food is always good
Food was not great. Ambience was.
Incredible service. Did a great job with catering to celiac disease and ensuring no cross contamination. Definitely reccomend
Nice menu with sufficient amount of choice without being overwhelming. Pasta is the specialty and is really outstanding. Knowledgeable and personable service. Lively but not unbearably loud, even on a Friday evening.
Love the place. Great food and service.
food generally good but 45 minutes between courses is just not acceptable. Also hot food on
cold plates is not a good idea. this is why I will not return.
The food is always good and some dishes are great. The reason I keep coming back is the service. It is amazing and some of the best in the city.
Incredible food. Probably the best calamari I have ever had. Great flavor on the batter but the freshness and taste of the calamari itself still very dominant. Also partook in the House made ginger beer, which was delightful.
The purpose of the visit was to investigate the award-winning meatballs so we ordered the all-you-can-eat Spaghetti and Meatballs available on Tuesday. How can you beat that? Hats off to chef Ron Anderson, it did not disappoint. The meatballs were incredible. Very moist and flavorful. Handmade pasta was also quite good.
Great dinner atmosphere and had a lovely night out. Unable to give that fifth star just for the experience, however. Our server was not that attentive, could have been better. Hard to give five stars when I can say that about the service. If it was just a rating for the food it would definitely be five stars.
Might have found a new Tuesday night haunt.
As my wife and I love Italian food, I decided to book at Cuoco. It was only about a 10 minute walk from our hotel. My wife had the lasagna and I the clam linguini. Both plates were generous in portions and quite reasonably priced. The lasagna was some of the best we’ve both had, and the linguini was amazing. Definitely recommend. Drinks were a little weak for the price though.
Always good...a bit pricey for Italian fare like spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna and rigatoni..... Pull it down for lunch for sure
Our food was good but nothing super special. We thought the value for the price was pretty good, and our waitress was excellent. It has a nice ambiance and we didn’t have to wait long for our meal.
Food was very good. The restaurant was busy on Valentine's Day, so there were LONG waits between courses. I understand the rationale for the 20% universal service charge, but it was not earned this night.
Very disappointed that when I made the reservation I informed them that we were coming to celebrate my partner’s birthday. There was no acknowledgement by anyone of the occasion the entire evening. We did have a lovely evening with great food, service and drink. But I expect a bit more from a restaurant at this level. If you aren’t going to recognize a special occasion, don’t ask me if that is the reason for my visit. Huge miss and I will think twice about coming back for any occasion. There are so many other amazing Italian restaurants in the area. Disappointed.
Cuoco has a gluten free pasta option and I enjoyed the gf pasta with almond tomato pesto. The mixed green salad had a nice variety of lettuces but I thought the dressing had too much pepper and would have preferred adding pepper to taste. The octopus appetizer was delicious. Service is friendly and professional.
One of my favorite restaurants in all of Seattle.
Pick anything and you won't be wrong
I had the Branzino, it was AMAZING! All four of us loved our meal and the service is always wonderful here. Handmade pasta is always delicious and they have gluten free pasta they can sub as well. Excellent choice for lunch or dinner!
Thought that the pear/endive salad with salmon was delicious.
I think my companions enjoyed their rigatoni, but wished for larger portions.
Would definitely return next time I am in Seattle.
Cuoco is one of the most underrated restaurants in Seattle. The handmade pasta is exquisite and the service is top notch. Jenni always takes amazing care of us and I try to find excuses to go back whenever possible. 5 stars!
The food is excellent and the atmosphere and lighting are good. I just don't like the automatic tip of 20% so I probably will try other restaurants before I go back here.
It was a perfect evening. The food, the ambience, the staff made for a perfect meal. My basil gimlet was perfection! Go now!
Fantastic. Quite possibly the best lasagne I’ve ever had in the U.S. great food, drinks and atmosphere.
This was our third time at Cuoco for dinner. It has a warm and cozy atmosphere that allows you to have conversation over your meal. The food is very good with seasonal changes throughout the year. Their lasagna is one of my friend's favorites. I had the grilled octopus and the marinated kale, both were delicious. It is a nice spot for dinner out with friends with a great atmosphere and divers menu.
Great food as always. Highly recommend this place
My wife and I met up with 2 friends for an early New Year's Eve dinner. The food was delicious and priced just right. We had charred octopus (really tasty, just the right smoky firmness I like), burrata cheese and prosciutto, foccacia bread, salads (simple and tasty), crab ravioli (sublime flavor), ossoc bucco (generous melt-in-your-mouth serving), smoked eggplant radiatore (it was my favorite flavor of the evening; light, creamy, and smoky), and some fried cauliflower with anchovy-garlic sauce (really tasty; cauliflower with a little kick). We chased it with shared profiterole and Italian doughnuts. We had wine by the glass, a couple cocktails, and a cherry cider (a little bit too sweet for me). Total damage with tip was about $300. It was enjoyable and a good value.
Nice place. Good meal. Does not have enough energy for a night out. Would be a good place to take parents or grandparents. Really had a nice time though!
Fantastic mushroom pasta. Finished off with a decadent slice of coconut cream pie. Yum!
The ambiance was clubby and comfortable but the food was underwhelming. My fish was fine but nothing special and my husbands pasta was overdone and salty. The service was attentive but the food just didn’t impress enough to justify the prices.
We had a great time at Cuoco's! Fantastic table for the seven of us. Excellent food and service. We were all very pleased and will come back again!
Hostess and wait staff were excellent. We told the waiter I was celebrating my retirement so Thomas brought has champagne for a toast. We ordered appetizers off the happy hour menu which were all delicious! Our favorite was the meatballs.
When we checked in, the hostess alluded to the fact that our table wasn’t available. She asked if we wouldn’t mind sitting in the bar. We were taken back, asked if she had our reservation?, but looked at the tables in the bar and agreed. The chairs in the bar are the most uncomfortable chairs! The food was mediocre at best and to make things worse, there were empty tables in the dining room the entire time we were in the restaurant. Super frustrating. In hindsight, we feel the hostess was trying to steer guests into the bar because it was empty. If the chairs weren’t so uncomfortable, it probably would not have been so bad. Unfortunately, we will never be going back to this restaurant because of the service we received by the hostess and the food overall just wasn't that good.
Went here on a date night and had a fantastic time.
The food was really good- 5 stars for the meatballs! we had a group of 8 and we sat at a large table that created the perfect atmosphere for us to have inclusive conversation at a relatively normal conversation level. The staff was very accommodating to our specific needs and friendly an courteous. They were attentive without being intrusive. I personally love the layout and decor. Feels very warm and cozy.
thank you for a wonderful time!
Cuocco’s dining room is elegant and, but for the noise level, would be a nice place to share a romantic date night. The food was ambitious in concept and disappointing in execution, which is a shame as we were really ready for some fine Italian dining. We only tried it once, and perhaps the restaurant was having an off night. But our consensus opinion was a rousing meh.
