Culpepper Steak House Ratings and Reviews
The waitress recommended drinks. We ordered amd the drinks were horrible. Told the waitress she said she was sorry. The steaks were great. When the bill came we paid 20 bucks for 2 drinks we took a sip out of. Kinda disappointed that the bill was discounted any. But if youre looking for a great steak. This is the place.
We celebrated a special family birthday at Culpepper's and had a great meal along with a wonderful experience. The service was exceptional and the food outstanding. This is a great place to celebrate - be sure to leave room for the Chocolate Chalet cake if it's available!
This was our first time to Culpepper Steakhouse and we will most definitely be back. We drove all the way to Rowlett from McKinney for this place on a friend’s recommendation. Our waiter was kind courteous knowledgeable and prompt. The food was excellent. My wife got the filet mignon and it may have been the most tender and delicious thing I’ve ever eaten. Then we had dessert...the chocolate cake made special for Valentine’s Day was TO DIE FOR! Literally I may have felt my heart stop for a minute it was so good. Excellent recommendation by our waiter. Can’t wait to go back!
I made reservations for my wife and myself for Valentine's Day. Because of the holiday, there was a limited menu at $75 per person. We were each allowed to pick on appetizer, one main course and one dessert. There were four appetizer choices, five main course choices and three dessert choices. The main dish choices included steak, salmon, lobster and duck. Of course, drinks or wine were additional. The food was excellent. My wife was given a white rose at the conclusion of our meal. It was a great choice for Valentine's Day.
Went for Valentine's dinner. Did not show that it was a set menu & price for the night.
Ordered our food, asked for medium steakcame out rare and 1 was raw. Could not cut it.
For the price of the meal it was very disappointing.
Then as a parting gift for Valentine's every lady received a rose and what we got was wilted.
We love this place. They have the best prime rib anywhere and we have definitely tried lots of prime rib all over the country. Teresa is an excellent server, understands how to serve wine and how to pace a meal. Wonderful ambiance and the food is as good as a Dallas steak house for a great value. This is our go to steakhouse
Food was outstanding, we had the 10 oz. filet steak & grilled salmon entrees, crab cake & jumbo cocktail shrimp appetizers & a side of lobster mac. While we weren't in a hurry, I did notice the service was a little slow with 2 larger parties of 6-8 each next to our 2 person table, which made it very loud & hard to chat with my date across the table. It seemed very warm in that part of the restaurant. The worst thing that happened is that we ate very little of our lobster mac & when the leftovers were boxed up somehow the lobster mac didn't make it in with everything else. :( BUT, all in all I give it an 8.5 out of 10! Thank you.
This was our first time back to The restaurant in a couple of years. We were unsure why we took so long to come back but after about halfway through our meal we remembered. VERY poor service and attention to detail for the price of the meal. In lower end locations you can expect substandard service but not when you are paying $300.00 for dinner.
We have been going to Culpeppers for years and it is consistently very good. It is very unique and the ambiance is great. The bar is very warm and inviting and always has good bands on the weekends. A nice place to relax and have a drink and the music isn't too loud. The food is always excellent and the servers are very knowledgeable and friendly. Will continue to go there for a really nice meal.
We booked an early dinner for New Year's Eve. We did not know there was a prix fixe menu for the evening. The choices were nice and the food excellent - it was just surprise to find they didn't have regular menu available. We were seated at a table near the lobby and it was bone chilling cold outside. Everytime someone came in the door they kept it open for folks to come in and about froze us out. It would have been good to have a hostess at that controlling the length of time it was open. Overall it was great though and we will definitely be back - best steak place in Rockwall with nice ambiance!
We celebrated New Year's Eve at The Culpepper Steak House with a delicious meal, good wine, lovely atmosphere and a wonderful dessert. From the moment we were greeted by the Hostess, to a glass of wine at the bar before our dinner we were already feeling pampered. The Lobster Bisque is wonderful, and so is the Prime Rib, Steak and Lobster. Our lovely evening ending with a fabulous tasting dessert and presentation.
The host waited on us and we changed arrival time 3x. We had drinks at the bar and a booth waiting for us when we got there. Live music!!!! Management checked on us 3x in one seating, food was fresh, made with love and some more love. The waiter never let us have a dull moment. The ambiance gave me a high class southern feel. I will go back!
My husband and I ordered the porterhouse for two and had it cooked medium. It was one of the best steaks I’ve very had! The au jus and topping were phenomenal. The price wasn’t terrible since it was for two, and we had leftovers too! It’s the best ambience in town too.
This is a very cool venue wasted on a wannabe high end steakhouse. The place was dead and the food just doesn’t compare with the big boys. Simply misses the mark on “fine dinning”. Do us all a favor and revert to a more casual menu that pairs better with your casual atmosphere. Oh...and fix the roof so we don’t have to step over 8 buckets n the way to our table.
Waitress seemed lost. Came back on 3 occasions to ask what my wife ordered to drink. I ordered steak rare but came out medium to medium well. My wife ordered medium came out rare. Mine was petite filet, her was not but she switched with me anyways because I will never send food back. She ordered crab as a side to her steak but it did not come out until 20 minutes after food since waitress forgot. So overall things were not horrible but for the price, if should have been great. We are new to Rockwall and will drive until Dallas next time we want to go to get a good steak. This was also a test run to see about having my office Xmas dinner there and that will not be happening.
