   I had high hopes for this place when my wife and I went there recently on a Friday night. From the moment we walked in the service started out really good. Our Server, Brittney, was helpful, chatty and knew her menu quite well. We were very pleased with how everything started. My wife and I started out with a few drinks, a margarita and a local "mixed" drink and they were ok, nothing that "wowed" us. Then the appetizers came out. To start, my wife and I ordered "Texas Torpedos," their version of a jalapeno popper and we split a wedge salad. The poppers were so salty that after a few we stopped eating them. The wedge was ok, not overly flavorful and the cherry tomatoes on the wedge were beyond ripe! However, after pushing the poppers away, it was explained to us that the Texas Torpedos are made by the owner and sold to local Sonic drive-ins. This was NOT a selling-point to me because if you are supposed to be a "high end steakhouse," why are you serving fast food jalapeno poppers? As the evening progressed the lamb shank and short ribs that my wife and I had ordered as our main course was served. My wife's short ribs was a tad dry but I liked it. My lamb shank was flavorful and I enjoyed the first one but when I cut into the second one it was rare! Blue rare! Inedible. I waited for a while for someone to walk by that I could flag down to have it re-fired but after a while it got cold and I gave up. Brittney was kind and removed the inedible items from the bill and then my wife and I went to the lounge with the remains of our bottle of wine, carrying our glasses with us. Promptly the lounge Server stopped us and asked if we were "taking our wine glasses." I was CARRYING a bottle of wine, NO, I'm not "stealing" your wine glasses. After sitting in the lounge for an hour, the Server in the lounge made no effort to offer water, a dessert menu, or really never spoke to us at all. She made a point of giving the checks out promptly to the few patrons left there

   Food was great but menu seemed smaller. A couple folks noted the absence of the Prix Fix option. Server was attentive but dessert process was inefficient due to items not available but listed on the menu and missing/not bringing one of the ordered dessert items.

   Four of us, did Mother’s Day brunch. Our reservation was for 1:15PM. They stopped serving at 2PM. The only issue we had was they ran out of Crème Brûlée. We were seated on time, even though the restaurant was obviously full. Everything else was great, service, food, and price. We will retune.

    Mothers Day brunch. Very disappointing effort by one of my favorite places to eat. Fourth minute wait to be seated- despite a reservation. No water or tea ever refilled despite sitting in g for two hours to get meal completed. No dessert because restaurant ran out and then a forced 20% tip to someone who never brought any refills of any drink. A major set back on my list of go to places. $400 tab deserves better

    Culpeppers lost my reservations and had to rush to sit our party. As we were walking to our table the chief comes out shouting obscenities at the hostess stand saying not to allow any more orders. The meal was ok but expected more from a restaurant that’s been in business since the early 80s. I have been to this restaurant many times the light the years and have had many great meals. Just not this time

    We used to go here once a month. Spend 200-300 bucks. I will never go back again. Management is awful. Food overpriced and undercooked. Stay away. It’s that awful

    Everything we had was really good. I would only have 2 things to correct and that would be getting the steak cooked correctly (Medium) not medium rare. Then the lobster was bland, the butter had no seasoning or flavor to it either. But all in all first time there and it wont be the last time. You can’t getting everything 100% accurate all the time everyone is human. So I will be back!!

    I don’t know where to begin…. We were seated at 5:30 and was given the standard bread and water sat there for 45 minutes. I went to find someone they apologized the waiter finally arrived took our order we received our food my lobster was extremely salty the breading was not the normal I asked them to take it away. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. Will not be returning

    What an awesome experience From the beginning of walking down the path to the front door and exiting this establishment. The staff at the front were very welcoming. The service and food was stellar / spot on / top notch! Kudos to the General Manager and Executive Chef and all the staff at Culpepper Steakhouse for an AMAZING dinner experience. I highly recommend this 40 year old Rockwall landmark to any locals or visitors.

    Good food but wouldn’t go back based of the service. Waitress was sweet but clearly didn’t know what she was doing. Became frustrating towards the end when we kept having to correct her I what we were asking for. I don’t know if she couldn’t hear us or juts wasn’t understanding anything.

    Went for anniversary dinner. First time at Culpeppers. hostess was charming and our server was attentive without being obtrusive. French onion soup was exactly what I expected. Great beefy flavor. Ordered the filet medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. Warm red center and melted in my mouth. Just the right amount of crust from the mesquite fire it was cooked over. Finished off with a crème brûlée. Smaller than expected but every spoonful was delicious. Manager checked in on the table during our meal and offered congratulations on our anniversary and offered us a quick tour after dinner as it was our first visit. We will definitely be back!

    Easter Brunch was over cooked and way too salty. I have had lobster and steak many times in the past and it was really good. Took my son and his wife for Easter dinner, this is the second time I have took them there and it sucked both times. We got seated at 1:30 and was rushed out of there inna hour because the brunch closed at 2 and they wanted to cleaning up and get us out of there. Salad was good and thats it. Plus I got home and realized they overcharged me like 50$. Bottom line if you are going to serve Easter Brunch then it should be the best we ever had!! Ill never bring anyone there again and spend that kind if money for a special occasion. Fool me once but twice shame on me…..

    Excellent food and wait staff. The area where we dined was a little crowded and there for a little noisy with a lot of traffic. Will request a different area next visit. Overall very pleased.

    We had the oysters which were teeny tiny but good, the potstickers which were yummy and the Texas torpedoes also yummy. Three people ordered steaks, all cooked to perfection and I had the sea bass, some of the best I’ve ever had but the sides that came with it were gross! Didn’t eat them! The waitress was a gem! Loved her!

    Not great service. The food was overpriced and not really very good. The presentation was beautiful, but the baked brie wasn’t even warm, and I’m pretty sure my fish was very small and not completely cooked. Will not be going back.

    I would go back again. The food was fantastic! My filet mignon was cooked just the way I love it. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs for the evening and he was so sweet. I really enjoyed our date night and eating here made our anniversary so much more special.

    They didn't disappoint. We had a great dinner with Chef Special "NY Strip" and the surf & turf. Everything was well prepared and tasty. Wonderful evening while sitting in the atrium so we could enjoy the live music.

    My Husband and I love eating here at Culpepper’s in Rockwall, TX. Chad (Executive Chef) and his team work wonders in the kitchen. Every meal we’ve had is simply delicious!! Everything is always so fresh, so tender and the food presentations are simply stunning. The staff really takes care of you. The service is always warm and friendly. They really care about your dining experience, every time you go. If you have not had a chance to eat at Culpepper’s, I highly recommend that you do so, soon!!

    Culpepper Steak House was an excellent choice if your looking for a nice steak house with excellent food. The portions were large, and the drinks were standard size. Great value for the price. Made reservations online, received personalized service, my waitress was knowledgeable and very friendly. Highly Recommend
