Cull and Pistol
Amazing lobster rolls !!
A must stop every time we come to Manhattan for business ( we are coming from France)
King crab was excellent, good selection of oysters and servers were very friendly.
Excellent well prepared seafood. Friendly knowledgeable service. Highly recommend
Nice little place - great location. Service was nice and friendly / helpful. Food was adequate at best. We are Cape Codders - we know our lobster - and the lobster roll was awful (frozen, limp, wet lobster with an uninspired dressing). Shishito peppers were good, but not great. Oysters were teh star - nice selection, meaty, sweet, nice saline and mineral finish. Tequila ($14) on the rocks was "maybe" a 1 oz. pour - with a big fancy ice cube.
Try for experience. Crowded, small and narrow and I stall bathroom for all.
Good to excellent food. Very noisy and tables very close to each other. Hard to eat a lobster on such a small table but it was good. The other person had halibut and loved it as well as the key lime pie. The cauliflower was delicious. Expensive!!
Just excellent. Space is small and a little cramped, but a great convivial atmosphere. Impeccable service. Shisito peppers tasted like none I've ever had, WA oysters (Skookum inlet) were supreme, seafood Pho was spicy and fortifying on a cool winter evening. Party of six, empty plates all around!
Great service, great food, but when I asked for a glass of sparkling water at the end of our meal, was it really necessary to give me a whole bottle and charge me $16.00?
Fantastic meal. Oysters were amazing. We then had the crab and lobster dumplings which were also outstanding and then the Connecticut lobster roles. Fantastic amount of lobster in the roll and so tasty. Good wine and a great atmosphere. Reasonably priced for NYC too.
Wonderful gem. Fresh, delicious, outstanding service, well priced. Our fave!
Your "Noise Level" ratings should include one for "Music Too Loud". It really is so unnecessary to have loud, thumping music on TOP of the ambient noise of people chattering. When people go to a restaurant they want to TALK and HEAR each other. I rated the "Value" only as "Good" because I thought the portions were too small for the prices charged. Also, there was no bread offered, which might have made up for the small entree portions. The dishes were otherwise excellent...delicious.
My boss loves this place and we make sure to go every time he’s in town for an oyster feast!
Fascinating food and great value for money. Extremely great service. Probably the best seafood restaurant in the world, I’m not joking
Wonderful experience, one of the best in NY for food quality and simple but very high professional service.
We loved this place with the superb service and exzellent food. The only two small comments kn where to improve are the air condition, too cold for Europeans and some of the portions could have been a bit larger.
Food was great and service was good. Had 2 adults and 2 kids. Everyone was pleased.
Best seafood !
We ordered 3 different varieties of oysters, one did not taste like anything. The Riesling wine had no taste either, and same for the lobster in my lobster roll... very disappointed.
Service was fantastic, lovely atmosphere. Top oyster recommendations. Would definitely recomment and will revisit again when in nyc
Used to love this place and visited on every trip to NYC. It has changed. The food was below average and over priced for the portions. With all of the options in NYC we certainly will not return.
I love this place. The oysters are among the best in Manhattan. The wine is excellent and the waitstaff are unbelievably great, warm and helpful. Becca and Erica. I remember their names as they will greet you by name and suggest their favorite oysters. Always spot on. The fish comes from The Lobster Place so it’s straight from the ocean. I’ve brought oyster and seafood snobs and my parents who hate oysters. Everyone loves it. If you want dessert, don’t come here or eat early before the amazing desserts in Chelsea Market are still open - before 8pm. My only complaint is one dessert they run out of and no gluten free bread to absorb the wine during oyster eating. It’s still awesome!
Four of us had dinner here on a Saturday night. Were seated immediately and the restaurant was packed. We had lobster shooters, i had scallops that were fabulous, the 2 wives had Lobster Pho which they both thought was fabulous. My wife had the fried oyster appetizer which was delicious. I would have given a 5 star instead of 4 star but the bar service was slower than the rest of the service.
really loud so hard to have conversations. Oysters were fresh but crab legs and shrimp were dry and meh. Dont think I would eat there again except for the oysters.
Excellent lobster, oysters, crab in a casual north-east setting in Chelsea market
Good selection of craft beer
The Service and food were both outstanding, I would highly recommend and will be returning on my next visit to NYC.
Some of the best, freshest seafood in the city, cooked to perfection. Not the most creative menu, but that is not what we were looking for. Adjacent to and owned by The Lobster Place, the variety of offerings is not to be beat. The steamed lobster was perfect. Everything we had from the raw bar was clean, fresh and tasted like it had just been pulled from the sea. Our server Lindsay was professional, personable and attentive without being cloying.
Fantastic oysters and lobster. Freshest anywhere. Very noisy but that’s okay!!
I have been to Cull & Pistol oyster bar twice now. The first time I ordered a oysters and bunch of appetizers to share and the second time I got scallops, clams, and oysters from the raw bar, more appetizers, and the lobster roll. Most of the oysters were great, a few were just ok, and the clams and scallops were a bit disappointing. The beauty of being able to sample so many things a la carte is it's not a huge deal if you don't like something. All of the appetizers we had were delicious. I LOVE that they have the lobster roll hot with butter, my favorite style and I so rarely get to enjoy lobster rolls because I hate mayo. The cocktails were tasty and one of the wines was okay and one was really good. This is a fun place to come with a group and taste a variety of things.
Excellent service, the food was outstanding. Will definitely recommend and come back here again soon.
Fun, high turnover oyster and lobster bar. Surprisingly good other offerings.
Best seafood in a long time Oyster and Lobster outstanding
Always good food!
Service very slow - especially from the bar. Very disappointed as first visit was good and we were looking forward to going back. Unfortunately, not worth the money.
Becca was absolutely phenomenal - she helped us select everything and was attentive and helpful. We loved her and will def be back!!
Overall very nice, food tasted and looked very nice, my only fault was nothing was hot (which was good for the oysters, lol)
From 3 items I ordered from the raw bar they only brought one. I had to ask 2-3 times for drinks I had ordered already.
Was here on tuesday. Excellent food. Outstanding lobsterroll and steamed lobster. Great service.
Except the guy at the door. No idea what his job was. Being friendly was'nt it. Serving people was'nt it, opening the door was'nt it. Anybody?
My advice? Loose him.
Our second time there and everything was absolutely amazing—the food and the ambiance were to perfection! We had fish and chips, the market fish special, and key lime pie for the birthday boy and it was incredible! The host and waitstaff were all gracious and very accommodating! I highly recommend to anyone.
Small place but cozy. The seafood was fresh and delicious. We had the shrimp and lobster dumplings as an appetizer and lobster pho for dinner. Both were delish.
Looking forward to returning!
