Very noisy place but the overall experience was mediocre.
This is just a busy, noisy place. I had the stroganoff noodle dish, my wife had the vegetarian curry, both were excellent. Noise level became better during breaks. Service was friendly and prompt.
Love this place! Food is good and the entertainment is exceptional!!!
Went with a party of 4. Were seated in the back, adult only, room. This was great as the two rooms in the front of the restaurant had kiddos running around like maniacs.
Server was friendly and attentive. Could not compensate for the really lousy food. The beef stroganoff was all mushrooms, very little beef and even fewer noodles. I love mushrooms but it was over the top. Meatloaf looked the best, not a hit with my hubby. The French dip, gristly. We did not do dessert.
Just disappointing all the way around
Even though it was early in the evening, the restaurant still had the music at a loud level and I could not hear the people two seats away from me. The service and food were excellent as was the general ambience of the restaurant! The noise was the only issue and it was not changed after we asked.
Prompt, attentive service. Great selection of food and drink for our party of 7. Delicious!
Such a great place to hang out. Fun vibe, great service, delicious!
We visited on our first night in Tempe. Our waiter was well versed on everything on the menu. He was helpful and attentive. He never seemed to mind our questions and requests. The same thing happened on our visit Monday. Our waitress was amazing. As I looked around the restaurant, I noticed everyone working appeared happy to be at work. Many had a bounce in their step as they checked tables to clear dishes and fill water glasses. It’s refreshing to be in such a positive atmosphere. The food from the homemade chips, toast, and meatloaf were delicious. The fried chicken is a must! The salads were fresh and flavorful. The Monkey Bread is beyond phenomenal. I’d definitely recommend Culinary Dropout!
I had wonderful company and was tickled to be going to see a performance later that evening. Culinary Dropout in Tempe turned out to be the ideal place to start off the evening.
Promptly seated, thanks to the reservation made in advance through Open Table.
Our server promptly greeted us and was in good spirits. Another nice perk to our dining choice that night.
Cocktails were not quite as prompt as I would've wished, but mine was on point.
My guest and I had so much catching up to do that making a dinner selection was kind of a challenge.
I did finally make up my mind and we got our entrees delivered in a reasonable period of time.
Mine was fantastic and I was wishing every salad I ordered could be this good. But then again, I probably should not be eating sashimi every day either.
I much prefer this location over the Gilbert restaurant. Even busy it doesn't feel quite as chaotic and the noise volume didn't have me feeling like I wanted to leave.
Good service, good food, and an experience worth repeating.
We arrived early but got right in. The staff was friendly and charming. The only negative is you might have to ask twice for something, straws, refills etc. but great none the less!
Really fun. Watched ASU win. Nice band too
Terrible service and average high priced bar food!!
Out of French fries?? Really ?
Out of Beef stroganoff and shrimp?? It’s a fried food fest with terrible service.
Charming experience from start to finish. Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. I will tell my friends. Look forward to another trip over to the Yard.
Love it every time!
Great food, fast service and quality items
Good food, good ambiance. Loud aircraft flying above.
It was very busy (and yes very loud) and it took over an hour to get our food. One dish was not done correctly and had to go back while another was cold. It also took about 15 minutes to get our drinks - way understaffed. But the ambiance is cool!
The pretzel and fondue appetizer was delicious. Unfortunately, my chicken was raw. Management was responsive and took the chicken off the bill.
Neat atmosphere. Helpful waitress. Ended up nibbling on happy hour options, and items from the Snack menu. I think I was expecting a little more ‘wow’ with food. Highlight was the pretzels. Everything else was ok (deviled eggs, salami, Korean chicken.). Drinks were nice and strong tho! I’d go back and try an entree.
Food was great and our server, Monroe was amazing! Very prompt and had a great personality.
The Culinary Dropout in Tempe never disappoints. I arranged a lunch meeting for about 8 people and that included our VIP from out of town. He loved the vibe and menu and even more, we all loved our dishes! Salads were the main fare but the star of the show was the Smoked Salmon Avacado toast. Our VIP ordered two for the table to share and we all agreed it was the bomb!
It was a busy lunch crowd with a lot of large tables of six or more but we never lacked service. Our server was always there when we needed him and our food came out very quickly!
I was thanked many times for arranging the lunch and it had a lot to do with the amazing lunch we had!
We frequent the Old Town Scottsdale location and had a chance to tey.this one and were extremely disappointed
Service and food both were abysmal.
Apps came just before the meal
Both were cold / Luke Warm
Was not overly packed but steady busy for 7pm on a Sunday night
No excuses work on all food coming late and cold this night.
Non attentive waiter, leaving water glasses empty making us beg (with multiple asks) for refills
This was a unique experience, I will admit, and I do not regret going, but no I would not recommend to a friend. there are just too many restaurants available that won't screw up an order. The food was delicious.
Food was delicious ... from the charcuterie board to the salmon entree to the drinks. The service was top notch. Great energy and vibe. This place gets it right.
A great Happy Hour spot but around 8pm the restaurant dining vibe turned into a club scene. It was odd tho, you have people and groups there for dinner and club music blaring over conversations. That is when we left.
The appetizers are the best, I had the steak salad. the steak was too chewy and definitely not worth the $17 I paid. I will stick to several apps in the future.
Great location/place, the drinks are simply perfect.
Fun spot, good for big groups, biz dinners, holiday party’s. Not good for date night, way to noisy!
Love the food and atmosphere!
Won’t extend my review
Great food and libations coupled with live music made for perfect after work meal.
This is a great place to meet friends for dinner and to catch up. Food is good, lively atmosphere.
Uneven results. Some dishes were too salty, one way too bland.
The only place in town where I'll eat the meatloaf.
Service was slow until it came time to get food out then we had entrees on top of appetizers. At end server became more attentive but it seemed to get us out the door.
Usually love the Culinary Dropout but this time for brunch 2of the 4 of us had food that was not hot. It was like it had sat before being delivered.
Excellent service and great atmosphere!
Excellent food, excellent service! Extremely loud music made it difficult to converse.
Food & service great! Music TOO loud! We went to dinner so we could enjoy food & conversation. Conversation almost impossible. We decided to find another place for desert.
Parents weekend at ASU
Despite being a busy weekend, this places seated us quickly and provided excellent service.
Everything about Culinary Dropout was amazing. The staff, the food and ambiance was everything we were looking for. Such a cool vibe!! We were visiting Arizona and friends recommended the restaurant. It exceeded all our expectations and we will for sure be returning on our next trip out here in April for my birthday!!! Can’t wait!!!
