Great food and drinks, friendly, diverse staff, fun atmosphere.
Create your own appetizer plates by selecting various cheeses, meats, olives, and other goodies, enjoy craft beverages or beers, and feast on delicious mains. It’s a bit loud inside, especially if there is a band. Overall quite excellent.
Great place, fun atmosphere. Excellent service.
Great authentic food and great service.
Ordered the fried chicken dinner. The ‘smashed’ potatoes were cold. One of the other people dining in our party commented that the “the double cheeseburger (?Mac) was not spectacular”.
Finally, I’ve never had a hostess tell me that we’d had to be out of here (finished at our table) by 8:00PM because they would need the table. Fortunately, we did not exceed her time limit but, still, I thought the comment was a bit rude.
Really really good food. Highly recommend! Ribs and salmon were amazing!
Everything at Culinary Dropout exceeded our expectations!
Food was tasty and well priced. Really cool place, great for large parties. Service was ok.
Dishes were cold
Such a happening place. Fun atmosphere with friendly staff. Younger vibe but too young. Would be fun for celebrations or just a date night with your love. Fried chicken was a hit! And, Monkey Bread for the desert was worth every calorie. We will be sure and go again...
Great environment, friendly staff, good music and amazing food!
It was fantastic Joey was a great waiter. Only problem was other party yelling and swearing.
Have eaten here twice and enjoyed it greatly both times. Service was attentive, food fresh and delicious. And the signature cocktails were interesting and tasty. If I'm in the area again I will definitely come back!
Great food, creative cocktails,super fun
This Tempe version of the popular down town hang out has the same great atmosphere as it's downtown sibling. The difference being it's only Culinary Drop Out for food choices. We've been here several times and this last time was as consistent as the rest. Our server was amazing and as stated previously the food was stellar. The fried chicken, ribs and pretzel bites are incredible. We will return but sure found that comment off putting as we sat down.
Went on New Years Eve and was expecting an excellent night but was disappointed with poor service and attentiveness from our waitress.
They had a cool DJ, but the music wasn’t very loud. Nothing special for the midnight celebration either. The rest of the staff was nice and the food was good.
New Years Eve
Slow service. Loud DJ
Excellent service! My wife and I enjoyed the dinner and are definitely planning to eat there again.
We’ve eaten here on more than one occasion and the results were always splendid. Which is why we always return. This particular experience was sort of a hiccup. I’m not one to go out of my way to complain and generally prefer to avoid conflict anytime I’m not working. My wife’s steak came out coldish. We couldn’t seem to get refills on water or non alcoholic beverages and the bar took quite a while for their end as well. To top it all off I got violently ill that night (which may be totally unrelated). We will probably go back again because overall we love the place.
We had the best service ever with Joey and the food was absolutely delicious!
Perfect ambiance, food and drinks were reasonably priced, definitely would recommend to everyone.
The food was excellent except the coffee was served at room temperature. I asked for hot coffee and it was warm only the second time.
The music was too loud, enough to make conversation difficult.
I do not understand why so many good restaurants find it necessary to play ear drum rupturing music. Conversation is an important that reason people dine out.
Had an amazing experience! One of our orders came out incorrectly and it was fixed immediately with a sincere apology from the manager and the cost taken off the bill! Great live music, made it a bit challenging to converse with our large party, but the band was so good. Above my expectations, highly recommend!!
I took my girlfriend out for our anniversary. The food was amazing and the band playing “vinyl station” was great to listen too. Our server Garett made our experience wonderful as well.
Drinks, apps, and dessert were great. Main courses so so
Great night out with a Business Team! Our server was awesome and the food was excellent.
Service was slow but understandable for the busy holiday season. As usual, the noise level was high and it was impossible to hear what was being said at the other end of our 6 person table. The food lived up to the high standards expected and everyone in our group was pleased with their selections.
My team and I had a great time stepping away from the office and celebrating the holiday season together. It really helped making reservations as we were seated immediately. Our waitress knew we were on a bit of a tight timeline and had to head back to the office so she extra attentive which was very much appreciated. Food was great as usual, especially the pretzel bites and provolone dipping sauce. Always a hit!
Wow! I was in the mood for good food with elevated flavor. I chose this place based on the great reviews. We were not disappointed. We went on a Monday and the place was packed with customers and buzzing with staff rushing around with arms full of food. The open window kitchen had at least 10 chefs kneading fresh bread, chopping, sauteing and preparing many fresh dishes. It's a scratch kitchen. We stated with the pork belly nachos (and considered licking the empty plate). We shared the customer favorites, fried chicken and ribs, which actually arrived before we finished our appetizer. We both liked the chicken best because it was so moist and not greasy. The ribs were great but not uncommon. We ate half and took the rest home. We will be back and will share an entre in efforts to avoid rolaids from being over full.
Was the most unique and positive experience we could of had. The ambience was very cool. The food was amazing. And the service was great. We went for my husbands birthday and there was not a complaint about it at all.
Absolutely wonderful. The mood of the restaurant was uplifting and exciting. The food was delicious. Will be coming again
Thank you Alissa
Great job and great service
Wonderful unique experience! Wine, brew, tapas, entertainment all in one.
It was our teams quarterly event. The waitress and team were very helpful and attentive. It was my first time here and I’ll come back.
The service just missed over and over and over. We asked if everything was okay, but everyone from hostess, servers and bartenders just seemed disconnected from all the customers on a busy Monday night. It would hard to bring my customers here any more. It’s a shame, difficult to keep getting apologies from staff but never the management.
Our dining experience overall was good. Service and staff were excellent. The food was pretty good, I wouldn’t give it a 5 star but the selections were very interesting.
We've been to Culinary Dropout several times. This time it was with our couples group of 8 people. The food came out quick and hot. The staff was excellent and friendly.
The hostess was cold. We made a reservation but were asked to wait while walk-in groups got preferential seating and attention. We were placed outside at table that was sticky with beer and in the reach of the rain. I explained to the gal taking us to our table that I was with 4 seniors and that the metal chairs would not be comfortable for them to sit. So we'd prefer more couch style seating or chairs inside that were non-metal. She told me that tables were not able to be pushed together so we'd have to sit at the table. Meanwhile, the restaurant was HALF-EMPTY. And we were placed outside in the rain and cold. And everywhere I looked INSIDE the HALF-EMPTY restaurant were people seated in large groups sitting at tables that were PUSHED together to make extra long tables. Then there was the food - everything came out cold and stale. Our waitress was lovely and kind however. Overall, I'm glad I live in LA - but I was embarrassed I brought my Phoenix family to Culinary Dropout.
Way too noisy
