Culinary Dropout at the Yard - Phoenix

Menu and service are impressive. Getting to the parking lot is an experience.
Reasonable priced good food a d service
The food and service were great. We were confused, though, why they were blaring live music at 2:00 p.m. on a college football Saturday. Not sure we would've chosen The Yard if we knew that was a thing.
My entree was disgusting. No thought put into it. We can one about 6 years ago and now we remember why it has been so long. Won’t be returning.
Loved the Yard, great place for kids and parents. We were seated on a nice table. Had a different waiter in the beginning and ended the night with a lovely young lady.
Food was great. Waiter was okay: had to ask for refills, he disappeared for like 45 minutes, and jut wasn’t overall impressed by his service.
Excellent food and atmosphere. We went as a family with teens and everyone found something they liked on the menu. We played ping pong and had a blast!
I ordered a salad which was very overdressed. The food took about an hour to come out which was pretty ridiculous!
Other Culinary Dropout locations such as Gilbert I would still recommend, not the yard. First time I’d been to the Yard and it was so loud, the entire party struggled to hear each other even sitting right next to one another. We had reservations and it took 30 minutes before we got seated because the table was not ready. We had countless waiters come up to us with a tray of drinks or food asking if we ordered them and we had not. Tables next to us got food before we did when we had ordered when they were seated. Once food came out, orders were wrong (fried chicken instead of fish) and sent back. Extremely disorganized. Thankfully our waitress gave a discount to make up for it.
Service was excellent! Server understood my gluten allergy and made dining experience memorable,
Food was very good and large portion size.
We went for Restaurant Week, and had a great time. There was some confusion as one of our appetizers was delivered to the next table over (and those nice folks ate it even though they hadn't ordered it), but Austin the manager comped that whole meal, which MORE than made up for a small error.
The food was delicious, well-prepared, and plentiful. The setting is very noisy when the restaurant is full.
We had dinner with two other couples this was the perfect place unrushed relaxing very enjoyable .
Fun. Great food. Our server was great.
I adore Culinary Dropout and this was my first visit to this location but it will not be my last! Now if only they would open one in the Los Angeles area!
Food and service were very good, but big empty parking lot blocked off and forced to valet park so probably won't go back.
Awesome atmosphere, like a fancier OHSO. Decent beer selection. The food was mostly good, but the French fries were a joke. They were about the size of cigarette butts, and some burnt about the same. The server we had, I forget his name, was not very good at all. He was condescending towards questions, made lackluster suggestions when asked his opinion, and failed to split the bill right between three different parties. Yes, a party of six adults and two kids can be harder to work with, and the speed of the food seemed to suggest this, but the lackluster service went beyond the party size. The attitude, the lack of helpfulness, and poor handling of the bill all missed the mark in terms of expectations. The expectation bar was not at all unreasonably high. Mandatory valet parking also greatly annoys me.
Went for a birthday party and it was awesome! The hostess was so nice and the food was amazing!
Great awesome service and welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely return.
Awesome service and great food! Our table was ready at the time we arrived and everyone working there made sure our experience was great.
I loved my salad. It was fresh and the shrimp was tender😎
Food was cool. Not warm. Pasta was hard Liked atmosphere.
I ordered fried chicken for $18 and they told me it would take 20 to 25 minutes to make and when I got it it was room temperature. I had clearly been made for somebody else and quite a while before because the mashed potatoes were cold and the coleslaw was warm. It was horrible! Dinner for four for $150 and we had watery Hummus and Luke warm food.
Weak happy hour menu and the staff and not on point with their service . Great ambience and the venue has potential but the menu does offer much .
Usually love place. Fried chicken which is typically amazing was over cooked and dry and music was super loud. Louder than normal, even waiter had hard time communicating and hearing. But love the place will be back chalking this up as a bad foodie day for them.
There were 2 parties going on so the service was very slow. At least they apologized and let’s us know which was professional! We loved the place. Great food, the outdoor seating, the food, really nice!!! Will definitely be back again.
I am a big fan of Sam Fox Restaurant Concepts. The food is always exceptional and the service is usually great. However our service was pretty poor. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer, but forgot items and didn't even get to our table to say hello for about 10 minutes. Also, he told us that they were out of sparkling water and checked to see how our food was when we were 75% finished with our meals.
It wasn't terrible - but going to a Sam Fox restaurant usually ensures that service/meals/ambiance will be exceptional

High quality dinner on a Friday night. Enjoyed Harrison as our server, excellent job. Beverage selection excellent. Band was fun as well. Not the place for soft conversation but if into a night of fun and frivolity, this is the ok to be!
This was my first time visiting Culinary Dropout on 7th St. The attendant did not take my order until 15 mins after I sat down, I had to ask for additional sauce and napkins multiple times before receiving them, my food was not prepared as ordered, and after the attendant took my debit card for checking out, he then went on to take 2 tables’ orders. I had to wait 20 mins before my card was returned.
I wasn’t expecting this level of service.

Had a great time! Will definitely be back soon! Wonderful place to have a celebration!
Get together to plan upcoming travel
Wonderful food - we would order same again! Fried Chicken, Ribs, and Fish & Chips. Only thing we didn't like was the cole slaw.
Just ok. Food is not very impressive. Service was good.
Our experience was great overall! Our waiter was very helpful and accommodated our extra requests so well. The only thing was our table was right in front of the live band so it was extremely loud and difficult to hear each other. We still had a great time otherwise.
I had a reservation for 10 and specified inside seating if possible. I was happy that the staff was able to specify inside as it was really humid outside with the misters, etc. The issue was, they sat us at the high-top tables near the kitchen and the stage. I didn’t think much of the stage because nothing was set up, but 30 minutes later the DJ set up and started playing music. It was so loud that we couldn’t hear each other talk, it was even hard to hear the waitress. The issue could have been avoided if we were sat near the windows at the end of the high-top tables. All in all, the location of our table does not make sense to have a dinner party and we cut our evening short because we couldn’t hear anything and some had headaches because of how loud the music was. You definitely do not want to be at this establishment after 8pm if you are in your mid to late 30’s. The crowd is super young.
Very accommodating we needed up with 13 people! My sister had a great birthday, only critique was the food delivery was very staggered so a lot of lag time between serving each dish. Service was good everyone very helpful.
Dinner for two! Perfect upscale, casual for our first date! Our server, Ruby, was perfect! She attended but let us be engaged in our conversation without being too attendy. The food was excellent. One dish pesto shrimp orecchiette, other was grilled street tacos. Both were excellent. The live band was pleasant but it did get difficult to hear (but that made me have to get closer to her)! We will be back!
I love this restaurant! The only thing I am not a fan of, is the noise inside. It is very loud, and I am hearing impaired and I plan on it being loud - take out my hearing aids and typically read lips and it is STILL loud. I have been there with several groups of friends and they all agree on the noise level. It seems that no hearing impaired have the same problem, hard to Have a convo with someone even if they are right across from you......the food, the service were amazing (as always) but the noise was the reason for the lower score....
Came with a few potential business associates/clients- great spot since the food and service are fantastic! The atmosphere is unreal! Nice drinks, great menu!
Our waitress was very inviting and helpful. She helped us figure out food for our picky 8 year old. Food was great. Came here to meet up with friends as we are from out of town. Not easy to hold conversation here as it is loud like a club. Very fun atmosphere but not for conversation.
