I have been to the Yard many times. It is a great place to enjoy a meal or a drink with friends. I love that they have games to play, so its not just your average bar.
Had reservations for a party of 6 at 7:30. Didn’t get seated til after 8. Unfortunately was seated at the front door directly in front of the band. So we couldn’t visit, and were in town meeting friends we haven’t seen in years. So that was a big down side. The place is cool. The food and service were good.
Would be nice if the band played for 15 mins on and 15 mins off so we could have conversations and still enjoyed the music. Or turn them them way down in volume
Manager was excellent in correcting a service issue
Had a great time in the yard, loved all the TVs. Service and food were great
Valet were very rude.
Friendly and professional staff, energetic vibe, delicious food and cocktails. We had a great experience.
So delicious! We had a very large group and service was not exactly speedy, but the drinks and meal were excellent. Will definitely return when we're in AZ next!
Fun place to be with Family and Friends, great service and fantastic food choices!!
Extremely loud. Live music was great! Very fun atmosphere. I was seated with my husband at a narrow table in between two other narrow tables. I was closer to the people on my right and left than my husband and I couldn't hear him talk at all. The games available to play were super fun, but the lighting was weak in the yard and ping pong was hard to see. Also, I think because we went on a Friday night it was super busy! We used a $100 gift card we got as a gift , but without it we would have spent over $150. Drinks were pricy but good. Food was super overpriced though in my opinion.
Had some adjustments to my party size last minute and the hostesses were very flexible despite the difficulty. Our service was attentive with great recommendations and our server worked hard to give great service despite the restaurant being busy.
Fun atmosphere, great food! Beer selection is first rate. Outdoor patio is great for a large group....shuffle board, corn hole, and ping pong available.
The culinary dropout is a great restaurant with good atmosphere. Staff seemed very friendly and helpful.
Food, drinks and service we're all great. It was very loud for us, but that is part of the vibrancy.
Really nice dining experience. The atmosphere is so lively and the food was great!!!! It is amazing how they can get the food out on time in such a big restaurant. Job well done. My adult daughters and I were in The Phoenix are for SF Giant Spring Training and are so glad we chose this restaurant. Keep up the good work!!!!! Lovely!!!!!
Fantastic food, fun atmosphere and worth he trip. We will definitely be back.
The food and service was amazing!
Busy Saturday night, service was outstanding, food quality was ok (my cannelloni was cold, husbands burger wasn’t cooked on first pass) matador cocktail was terrific and kids menu was a hit with our 7 and 8 year olds.
Loved it! Love the atmosphere! No complaints. Thank you for the great experience
Super fun and cool place. Industrial chic interior, live music, ample and chill seating, simple straightforward menu, greatest drinks. Highly recommend. Try the monkeybread but its all pretty fantastic!
A few employees and myself were in town from Tucson for an evening event, 6 to 7:30 PM. I knew that after the event we would be famished, so about a week prior I made an 8:15 pm reservation. The valet line Was a little backed up when we arrived, so try to get there about 15 minutes before your reservation, so that you can be seated on time. The hostess was great and we were seated almost immediately when we arrived inside. The meatloaf plate it was absolutely wonderful, And the hamburgers that were ordered by the other members of our party were hard to beat, and met with rave reviews. The server we had was absolutely fantastic!! She was prompt, courteous, and a lot of fun. The price was reasonable, including the $10 tip, our bill was $68 for four people… No drinks, just water, no soda either… We had been speaking for the past hour and a half, so the word parched doesn’t even come close. In November I attended the same event and we ate here afterwards, with drinks, not cocktails or beer, our bill ran up to 75 (with tip) for 4 people. We highly recommend this place if you are near downtown Phoenix and need an evening bite. In total our visit was about an hour, because we had to jump on the road to head back to Tucson… But I could tell that most people were having a lot of fun and making a whole evening out of it. Cheers culinary dropout, keep up the good work!
The pretzel appetizers were great as was the pub burger and ribs. Great ambiance and options for food and drink and fun!
An off night, they did take care of our issues. Have been before and all was good.
My husband and I had early Valentines lunch on Sunday. It’s one of our favorite places. As usual food was great - love the prime dip sandwich - service was great and bacon Bloody Mary is the best!
Nice place but really loud. Also, not great for gluten free
Everything was great but the live music was so loud it was nearly impossible to hear our server or friends.
Great food and service in a very noisy atmosphere. Very wide open spacing with games like corn hole or ping pong available to play. If you want a fun place with great food and don’t need a quiet place to talk this is a good choice. Meals are about $20 .
Just the girls meeting up for a fun dinner and drinks. Our server was super cute, fun and very good. She had lots of suggestions and food was brought to the table super fast! This place is BIG. Don't let that fool you though, its also super busy so absolutely make a reservation. Huge bar, fun games to play, indoor and outdoor seating, free valet parking and creative food. This place is a great find!
Too cold, and the heat lamp was turned on for my wife but the guy at the next table got too warm and so it was turned down which made her cold. Server was awesome. Didn’t care for being sat right in the middle of a traffic aisle.
Fun place for a group of friends or special occasions.
We got in right away, our server was very attentive and the food was great!
Excellent food. Table was ready since we made a reservation. You do need to get valet parked, but they were quick and there was no cost.
Dinner was amazing, when the waitress brought the drinks she spilled on my purse, I used my napkin to clean it up because it took her quite a while to return and then she never wiped the chair where the liquid was still on the chair, I cleaned that as well with my new napkin :(
First time for us to visit Culinary Dropout/Phoenix. The first impression is pretty overwhelming with the huge cavernous patio (about the size of a football field!). I like the non-traditional layout with multiple venues under one roof. There is a cozy seafood restaurant (Cleo's) and Culinary Dropout is indoor outdoor. The outdoor portion is in "The Yard" which has corn-hole courts and seems to be a more bar oriented group. We ordered the french bread which came with a nice dousing of good olive oil and aged balsamic. We shared a Fresh Seared Ahi Salad which was excellent and loved the wasabi peas mixed in. I had the green chili and cornbread which was OK. Nothing has compared to Roaring Forks yet so I have a high standard. My wife had the Fish and Chips which was very fresh and crispy. The Monkey Bread we had for dessert is just OK.
I love everything about The Yard except 2 things. I HATE that I am forced to valet park when there is an entire parking lot that is empty. And I was also disappointed that I made a very specific reservation, weeks in advance, for the patio lounge area which they did not honor. Instead they stuck us at a hard top long table in the corner. I feel like if you aren't going to be able to honor my specific request for 10 people to be seated in the couch area, that you should have notified me in advance.
Amazing service with great food and atmosphere!
We really enjoyed our food but there were a couple hiccups.
Firstly, we were seated inside when I'd requested an outdoor table. It was extremely loud inside as our table was located directly below a speaker and there was live music, so conversation was almost impossible.
Secondly, our service was less than stellar. One of our guests didn't even get her food order placed because the server misunderstood her order. Not sure if that was because of how loud it was or if he wasn't paying attention. I also had to ask several times for our leftovers to be packed up and to receive our checks.
I'd like to come back on another night and try again.
Green chili stew with cornbread is awesome.
Service was excellent, server went out of his way to be helpful and courteous.
Mac burger was just ok......dry and over-cooked.
Fish and chips very disappointing. FF’s inch to two long and cold. Too much batter too little fish. Tacos tasted good but were cold. Slow slow service. Brussels were divine. Trendy and good location.
