Food was good quality but service was just not good. 3.3 hrs for dinner is not reasonable.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary last week. We were greeted at the desk by name and offered congratulations on our special day. The server was also very attentive (yet not intrusive) and offered congratulations. Between us we had the octopus appetizer that was outstanding, butternut squash soup, lasagna and wild boar. Dessert was comped. All the dishes were prepared perfectly, served hot, and were delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
On an evening where the restaurant was half full our party of 8 was seated next to the private dining room which, according to 4 different staff members, has poor sound insulation. After appetizers and one round of drinks the manager came to our table and shushed us after the real estate group in the private dining room had complained about the noise. In one moment the entire celebratory mood that I flew 6.5 hours across the country to create with my team, was ruined. We had been scolded. After a few minutes I called the manager over and offered to be reseated on the patio—we had no desire to ruin the evening of the other group—and was accommodated. The rest of my group was ready to walk out the door without finishing dinner. The manager proceeded to go out of her way to take care of us to make the situation right with scrumptious desserts and sparkling rosé which was appreciated but the mood of our group never recovered. Ironically the group that complained about us came out to the patio after their presentation and were so loud that we couldn’t hear across the table. Ridiculous!!
To be clear: the environment is beautiful, the food is delicious and the staff made the best of an awkward situation. But we are left wondering:
1) Why would you ever seat a large group next to a room that you admit has very thin walls?
2) Why in the world wouldn’t The Four Seasons soundproof the room if they know this is an ongoing issue?
3) Why would you scold a large group at a celebration business/birthday dinner and not offer an alternative such as “we apologize that we seated you next to a room with paper thin walls—may we reseat you on our stunning patio?” instead of treating us like a group of unruly children and leaving it to us to come up with s solution?
I come to LAX all the time on business to spend time with my team and there’s always a boozy dinner at some point. Unfortunately for Culina we won’t be back any time soon.
The food was excellent. We shared the steak that melted in our mouths.
The lunch menu is small but the food was very good. We ordered octopus and it was amazing. The tuna salad was so so but the service was excellent. They made us the truffle risotto from the dinner menu and it came with white truffles. What a nice lunch.
Everything was so perfect, wine and drink list, atmosphere, we sat outside, heated and covered, but felt like it was a perfect
Night outdoors. Food was above expectations, waiter was very attentive.desserts delicious!
Food and service always excellent.
Great food and service was also great. It was our anniversary and they went out of there way for us
Top notch and always classy, Culina never disappoints! The food and service are impeccable. Great spot for a date or even a night out with friends. Menu options are superb.
I picked it for dinner with my married daughter. We had a lovely table, first class food and service, and a terrific evening. The executive chef came out to introduce himself to us. It isn't often I get a chance to have dinner one on one with one of my children, but my wife was out of town visiting her brother and nieces, and my daughter was free. A great choice all around.
“Mamma Mia” menu is bringing Italy to LA ! Thank you Chef Luca (and Mamma Grazia) what an amazing experience!!! 😊👍👏👏👏
Absolutely stunning place with food and service to match. Can’t get in to Felix or Bestia again? Drop what you’re doing and go here.
This is the restaurant inside the Four Seasons Beverly Hills. We made a reservation for Saturday breakfast/brunch. It wasn't too crowded at all. Unfortunately, the patio was reserved for private event, but we sat inside by door. The whole hotel has a gorgeous setting with lots of plants, trees and flowers. The food was good, but pricey. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place for hotel guests if looking for a breakfast that is quiet in a nice setting. Looking forward to trying the big Sunday brunch sometime.
Maitre D / hostess were than ideal. All other staff was great.
Excellent experience. Very professional staff and wonderful food. Thanks
We enjoyed a lovely anniversary dinner at Culina. The service was impeccable and the food delicious.
Another amazing experience ! Thank you Chef Luca for your warm hospitality... we will come back soon 👍
Excellent Restaurant. Strongly Recommend, Truffle Gnocchi out of this world.
Woderfull new menu with an authentic new Italian Chef.
Food and services were both great!!
There has been a change of chef since our recent last visit. The previous chef, we were told, has moved on to open his own restaurant in Australia. The new chef has certainly filled the old chef's apron. As expected, the place, the food, the ambiance, the service, were all superb. A cautionary note: I refuse to dine in the restaurant proper, the noise level is beyond horrendous; similar to a rock concert. The patio is lovely and quiet enough to allow conversation.
We absolutely loved this restaurant. We had a late reservation, but the staff got us in earlier, which was much appreciated. Our server was fantastic. The somelier was fantastic. The food was sublime. We would definitely come back. Oh, and it was pretty cool to see a famous actress enjoying a meal just two tables over.
Recommend oysters, risotto to share, parpadelle, and ravioli. Everyone loved it even with kale in it! Amazing. Skip the gnocchi and have dessert...we shared a delicious chocolate square with lava like filling...yum!
I love Culina. But they have to address the lighting, especially for tables 4 and 5. It's harsh and bright overhead that glares off the menus. And despite repeated requests to change the lighting , the management does not seem to care. Could change the whole ambience to one far more enjoyable.
Service were great. My friends and I had pretty good time during our meal. With Groupon is great deal. I love their food too. Must try “bake Alaska” love it love it love it.
The food, ambience and "most" of the service was fabulous. Our original server (Caroline- who was terrific), turned our table over to another server and he, unfortunately, completely ignored us. There was a party of 6 at the round table and he basically took care of them without ever checking on us, until I asked him to. Other than that, my friend enjoyed her Birthday breakfast celebration at the restaurant very much.
Chef Luca brought Italy to LA !!! Well done Luca !
Pasta dishes are great. Salads are excellent. A nightly special lentil soup was creative and delicious. We had an excellent meal and will certainly return.
Daniel is an amazing server, the food was amazing, Luca is such a great chef, the whole experience is much approved
the hostess was the sweetest thing! she made everything so comfortable and the server was beyond great! I loved the whole place (:
We dont return to many restaurants - there are so many options in LA, and new places are opening all the time. But we've been going to Culina for about 8 years, because the food is great, the indoor and outdoor dining spaces are both beautiful, and the service is always outstanding. This time around, the food was a notch down from the usual, but still good. Of 4 dishes, 3 were good, while 1 was excellent. We'll be back.
The food is absolutely amazing. There are
Zero complaints about that. They have everything a person could want and more- top notch. The issue we had was with our service. It was like moving a mountain to get more coffee or water. We had to actually track people down each time. We had to search for someone to take our plates.
In the meantime, people ordering alcohol seemed to have every need attended to. Not cheap about it or judging- we just don't drink. This was very, very disappointing and would make me give a cautionary preface before recommending.
Brunch was great, as usual. Will definitely return.
The food and service for Sunday brunch were both excellent. In particular, the chicken and waffles and the brownies were my favorites. The Chinese New Year’s duck was also good. I also liked the comfy chairs. The valet parking is only ten dollars for brunch. There was more than enough staff, and they all were helpful. We even got a carry out bag for our birthday dessert. It was quiet at eleven, but after noon it got super busy, loud, and crowded.
The best brunch I have been to in many years anywhere.
It is the absolute best presentation, variety and quality that i have ever seen in the world. It absolutely lives up to Four Seasons standard. The presentation is exquisite, staff plentiful, omelette station, pancakes, breakfast meats, charcuterie, pastries, huge seafood display with abundant crab legs, shrimp, etc. tons of specialty salads absolutely delicious variations, regular salad bar, kids table with chicken tenders mac & cheese etc., beautiful dessert of everything you can find without being those cheap non-baked desserts, bread station is absolutely gorgeous. Only thing that I did not enjoy and did not like the quality of the sauces was at the Pasta station, however this is a unique touch.
If you have never been here before or seen pictures of the room, the stations are in many different rooms and you don’t sit in a traditional brunch type room. There are nooks and crannies everywhere and the rooms are all irregular shaped, kind of like the Palacios hotel brunch, however the quality and presentation is even more beautiful than the Bellaggio, although the Bellaggio take second in my book for looks and taste and presentation.
Very posh restaurant with a fitting crowd. The hostess was very snooty and tried to stick us in the corner of the outdoor patio. We asked for a table inside and were seated in a nice spot by the window. The waiter and sommelier gave excellent service and the food was excellent as well. Really fun place for a special date night.
Food is mediocre.
Service was slow
Food Was excellent , Service Wasn’t so great .
What a great restaurant! From beginning to end, this was a perfect experience. The staff is wonderful, and the food is delicious. We will go back!
Culina was a beautiful experience for our family. Atmosphere, food and wine were outstanding. Will go again when I have the opportunity.
