A few glitches with, I suspect, a new server and a sudden rush. The maitre d was very nice about it. Food was lovely. Would definitely return and recommend it.

we discovered this restaurant on our honeymoon and we really look forward to revisiting it on our anniversary each year when possible. We love being seated at the table in front of the fire place..a favorite of ours. The ambiance is wonderful and the food and service are superb.

Although the restaurant was out of my first choice (would you believe - chicken?) my second choice was quite satisfactory. Beautiful venue.

A truly disappointing lunch!
We don't know if the chef wasn't paying attention, the server was new and poorly trained, he failed to put our order in or what, but almost everything that could go wrong did. It took over 2 hours for 2 courses (and we both started with mushroom soup), so we didn't have dessert. Even if the waiter had offered a complimentary dessert to make up for all the problems, we wouldn't have had time for it. In fact, I was late to my spa treatment thanks to his poor service.

We had a couple questions about dishes we were debating about, but Marcos gave few details about them; so I was surprised when my chicken, which he'd said was roasted, came out drenched in sauce and with a rubbery skin. He did, however, go on at length about the lobster bisque and other dishes we weren't interested in. When he finally came back to the table to take our orders he first told us he wanted to tell us more about the seafood options. I told him we weren't interested and had already chosen what we wanted but he insisted on telling us, at length, about the seafood options. Why?!

Everything but the chicken was overcooked. This was clearly due to the chicken being still not cooked 30 minutes after our soup bowls had been cleared. Marcos said the chicken wasn't done, at 1 pm, and would be a few more minutes. A quarter hour later our main courses came out. Clearly everything else had been done and sitting back there, dying, while the chicken was finished. A major part of being a chef is knowing how to cook dishes, both the recipes and the cooking time involved. My husband's pasta was so over cooked and starchy that he could barely eat half of it. My vegetables were all over cooked, with the roasted radishes and haricot verts visibly shriveled. I would have sent it back if we weren't already running so late.

I had to cut Marcos off when he began describing desserts I wasn't interested in, and didn't have time to order.

A busy night and the kitchen slowed; brought soup “on the house” and comped a glass of wine. Would have much preferred smooth service. Food was ok.

The cuisine, service, and environment are the BEST in the Valley. Chef enjoys visiting each table and inquiring about his creations. The service is impeccable too. Every entree we have tried has been extraordinary... from the Lobster Ravioli, the roasted chicken, and rack of lamb... all fresh, delicious, and remarkable.

Our family of 7 adults had a delicious dinner at Cuistot over the holidays. The setting is elegant yet comfortable. The service is impeccable. The dinners were all wonderful and perfectly prepared. It was nice to see the Chef supervising in the dining room. Although the crowd was older and the menu fairly traditional, the preparation was light and modern French. Enjoy the atmosphere of a lovely French restaurant at a reasonable expense.

We regularly dine at Cuistot every year and have rarely been disappointed. The quenelles were to die for. Light, fluffy and so so tasty. Two of us had the cassoulet and it was excellent, as usual. I would have liked to see more duck and less sausage, but that's me. The rack of lamb and veal chop were delicious and done precisely as ordered. The 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will return in anticipation of another fine dining experience.
Thank you Cuistot.

The cuisine is excellent. All of our four dishes were exceptional and a good value. The wine list is exceptional. My only criticism is that we had an opentable reservation at 11:30 am for lunch. It was a few days before Christmas and the host and hostess had a long discussion as to where to seat us. I had invited three guests for a holiday celebration lunch. We were seated (although the restaurant at that time was empty) at a table right behind the checkin table. Cramped and cold next to the front door. We quickly realized that we were also placed in a room where a very very large private party was to be served. As a result our experience was less than expected from this establishment. If we had been late to our reservation or walk in customers perhaps this would not have been such a rub. At the very least they should have asked us if it was alright to seat us at the worst four top in the restaurant. Can’t help but feel the fact that I did not book directly had something to do with this. Sad!!

First, my wife and I dine frequently at Cuistot. We go because almost always the food is excellent and the atmosphere is great. We usually eat in the main dining room. However, due to a wine dinner in the main dining room, we elected to eat in the Bistro. This room is next to the kitchen and on the way out to the nice outdoor dining area.

Unfortunately, due to the Christmas season, management choose to hire a piano player to play Christmas and show tunes in the Bistro. The walls and ceiling are hard surfaces, so the noise was horrible. This causes the dinners to all raise their voices when the piano plays too loud. I requested the server to ask the piano player to reduce the sound because of the total noise that made it impossible for my wife and I to talk. He increased the sound and shifted to some show tunes that were extremely "lively" and continue that for the remainder of our meal.

To top off our evening, when we arrived the server immediately attempted to get our dinner order placed. The usual sequence at Cuistot is to request pre-dinner drinks, bring some fresh bread and give the customers time so settle down. This is one of the significant reason we like Cuistot for dinner. We attempted to backup and order drinks but they brought out the appetizers before we could get the drinks. Since the appetizers were so hot that they could not be eaten, we just enjoyed the drinks before starting the diner. After completing eating the appetizers, I had to flag the wait staff to get them saved (the portions were large) in order to start eating the main course. I have never felt so rushed at Cuistot's before. Given the Bistro's setup, I do not recommend eating in this section of Cuistot.

This won't stop us from enjoying eating at Cuistot but we are now wiser about attending on a busy night and never eating in the Bistro.

Lovely afternoon on the patio. Everyone loved their entrees. Our waiter was friendly but almost too much, and there were models walking around wearing clothing from some of the El Paseo shops. We gently asked to not have our celebration interrupted, and the models were respectful. We have been to happy hour before and it is most enjoyable.

We've visited this place every time in Palm Springs area but somewhat disappointed this time. Not as refined as in the past and theme seemed larger portions and less attention to detail. Shortrib ravioli app more of a main course portion and full without finishing it. It was supposed to have chanterelles and morels which were noticeably missing to a mushroom lover. They did bring a plate of sauteed chanterelles but virtually finished by the time they arrived. Main course was sweetbread stuffed quail and way over cooked to point of being dry. Thankful for the sauce on the plate but too much butter that drowned the wild rice under the quail. Wife's beef ragout on parpadelle was family size. Charge 1/2 the price and less than half the quantity would have been appreciated as less than 1/3 was eaten. At $43 for the plate this was ridiculous but nevertheless the best dish of the eve. The vanilla floating meringue for desert was delicious however again 1/3 the size would have been too much. Service was good and ambiance as wonderful. I don't think that I'll rush back next time in town and we'll be looking for another fine dining experience.

Overall a very nice evening , every time we make it to Palm Springs we make this a sure stop as the food is always on the mark. This trip was no different we did have an issue with a very under cooked dish however it was rectified as soon as we brought it to the attention. Would always recommend Cuistot as it is still one of the best in the Valley

Cuistot was one of four restaurants we patronized during Restaurant Week and it was our favorite of the four. And so we booked a reunion with a friend there, offering to him great praise for the service and cuisine. We were greatly disappointed. Our friend ordered Fois Gras and a Caesar salad for the starter, My husband ordered the Caesar salad. The salads were incredibly tasteless. I can't comment on the $44 Fois Gras since I didn't taste it. I had a New York steak with roasted vegetables and a gratinee. While there was a generous portion of beef, the roasted vegetables consisted of one small new carrot and three green beans and the gratinee was about 1 inche square. For a dessert wine, our friend ordered an ice wine, $17 for a small glass and it seemed to take forever to be served to him. A summary: it was a very pricey experience for a mediocre dinner. . He originally wanted to go to Ruth's Chris, and now I wished we had!
